As many others in Colorado Springs, we received hail damage to our home and need a new roof.
I had no idea twhat the process was to see if we needed a new roof or just repairs, so I call my agent. I had
very informational phone conversation with the agent's assistant. It was an easy process to get the appointment scheduled with the adjuster form
The adjuster came to our house on a Monday afternoon and did a very thorough job of reviewing all of our property for hail damage. We was able to give us a complete and detail list of all the things that need repair, which was more than just the roof. We had the written estimate by Wednesday and the check by that Friday.
After talking to the roofing company, one that the agent had recommended, I had some questions for the adjuster. I called him and he immediately was able to answer my questions.
We are now on the schedule with the roofing company and will soon have a new roof.
So far, this has been a very easy and quick process.

For the water damage claim, we had to move out. State Farm made arrangements for a hotel and then a furnished apartment nearby so we could keep tabs on the repair progress, tore out all carpeting and padding, cut bottom foot of walls off to expose insulation so it could be dried, took great precautions to prevent any mold in the walls, put all undamaged items in storage, had damaged furniture repaired, repaired the leak, replaced walls and carpeting, etc etc etc. This work involved multiple companies as well as the general contractor. When our policy came up for renewal, I was certain it would be cancelled or the premium would be greatly increased. Neither happened.
