Water Damage Restoration Reviews in Bowie

I had experienced mold damage from basement flooding from Hurricane
in August 2011. I did not realize that I had a mold problem due to limited mold visibility and the eliminate of the moldy test until I had a mold test performed in late September. The teast revealed high levels of mold spores in the air of my basement. I eliminated the moldy smell by removing and throwing away the wet carpet the day following Hurricane
; washing the floor several times and treated it with vinegar and water; and finding moldy items in the basement and throwing them away. However the mold test revealed I have a serious mold problem.

Out of four quotes,
provided me with the best mold remediation solution and best price. His son and partner,
, did an excellent job managing the project and leading the team that performed the remediation. They were highly professional, timely, and responsive to all my needs and concerns. They were eager in assuring that I was satisfied with the job. I would rehire them and recommend them to friends.

I had a sump pump failure resulting in a flooded basement from Hurricane
. At 2 am, I sent out emails inquiring about estimates to dry out the water in my basement and the carpeting.
Inc. called and woke me up at 6 am offering to come on Sunday morning to perform this task and quoted me a price of $675 via a written estimate by email. The price included picking up the carpet; placing blowers to dry the carpet; throwing away the padding away; and replacing the carpet with new padding. For additional $65, he would shampoo the carpet. I accepted the offer via the email and waited for Nextel Restoration show up. When he did not show up by 12 noon, I called to determine the status and was told he had to make a stop in Brandywine before coming to my residence. When he did not show or call by 2 pm, 4 pm and 7 pm, I called to determine if he was still coming to perform the job. At first, he stated that he will soon be on his way once he completed what he was doing. At 7 pm, hestated that he was still coming but had gotten into a situation that was beyond his control and would call when he was finish and on his way.

Inc. finally arrived around 8:30 pm. At that point, my carpet had been under water all day and started to smell moldy so I asked for the cost to remove and haul away the carpet and padding, as well as to extract the water. I agreed to the quote of $275. He extracted most of the water but I was asked to extracted many puddles before letting him leave near 10 pm or later. He left wet carpet and padding on my backyard for two days, which was picked up after I called to inquiry about them. He also left carpet tacks on the floor after I told him I was not replacing the carpet and was considering tile. When I asked him to remove them, he never came back to do so despite stating that he would remove them when he came to pick up the wet carpet and padding. To avoid removing the carpet tacks, he picked up the wet carpet and padding while I was at work instead of calling me. I asked him to call me at work when he was within 30 minutes of my house so I would not wait all day for him to show up again. I had to pay someone else to remove the carpet tasks.

I have mixed feelings about this company. We had a leak that flooded the carpeted area of our basement. When we called them, they came out the next day and examined the basement. The assessment was that there probably wasn't mold under the carpet and all it needed was to be dried out and the carpet cleaned. So they brought in several industrial sized fans and dehumidifiers, which they left in the basement for a few days. After the carpet was dry, they cleaned it. They charged us $500 for that, which seemed high, but then they did come the next day and they didn't insist that there had to be mold under the carpet and so charge us for expensive mold treatment.
During the recent storm (Sandy), we again had a leak that ran into the carpeted area. I called them again, but this time the experience wasn't so positive. They said they could come the next day but didn't give me a specific time. Around noon I called to see if I could get some idea about when they might be there, and they said I wasn't on the schedule! But they had a guy who
could come over, so they sent him. He came fairly promptly and looked around thoroughly. We discussed various options about how to deal with the situation this time, and during the conversation the guy told me several times that he wasn't local, he was from Dallas, so didn't know much about the climate here. He did however come up with a recommendation, this time drying the carpet out, pulling it up, treating the floor for mold, and cleaning the carpet. Maybe. There were other options too, which he described. He didn't want to give me a recommendation, though, because he wasn't local and wasn't familiar with the local climate. When I asked how much the various options would cost, he said he couldn't give me an estimate because he didn't work for the local company and couldn't speak for them. You get the idea! Why was he even here? But he told me he would give them the information he had collected and that the company would call and tell me what they thought it would all cost. Long story short, I'm still waiting for that call (it's been a month). They never called back, and frankly I wasn't very motivated to follow up myself. Maybe they were very busy this time because so many people had water damage, but after this second experience, I'm not sure I'd call them a third time.
