"Giving them the benefit of the doubt, this is a smaller company that wasnt ready for the increase in business they would get when they put a deal on Angieslist. But, there were numerous problems with the job. First, I had a terrible time getting in touch with them. Emails weren't answered, and every time I talked to them on the phone I seemed to have to remind them of all of the details of the project (like they weren't keeping any records). Second, when I purchased the deal it did not have any indication of an extra charge for a 2 story house, but when I talked to the owner on the phone he assured me that it was in the original add. I told him I would not have purchased the deal if the charge was included, and he offered to cut the extra charge in half, but maintained that it was specified in the original deal. I got in touch with Angieslist to confirm that the deal had been modified to include the charge AFTER I purchased it, and they confirmed that it had (so, the owner lied to my face). I confronted the owner with this information and he agreed to abide by the purchased terms (good) but would forget and make me remind him every time we talked on the phone after that (bad). Third, they asked for someone to be home during the work, and then missed several appointments without any notice, which is extremely unprofessional. There were other issues as well. In short, this was WAY more of a headache and hassle than I wanted, and while some of the work that I wanted to get done got done, I wish I had gone with a different company.

"Problems still exist so I called Ten back. After a couple tries I finally reached Ten. He said he was going away for a week but to call him back when he returned. So I did. I had to leave a message but unfortunately, Ten never responded. Some time has passed so I thought I'd give Ten another try. Given all the positive feedback, I figured it was worth another try. Luckily, it's been a dry summer! I called a few days ago and had to leave another message. So far, I've yet to receive a call back. I suspect Ten is off on another project and overbooked. What I have a problem with is returning calls...even if it's just to tell me that he's too busy or unable to help.

Updated Feedback (10/5/2012) - My initial experience with
Waltham Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
was unpleasant. However, I gave Ten a couple chances to make good and I believe he has. It remains to be seen if the problem is fixed but I believe he did the best he could given the circumstances. My recommendation to
Waltham Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
would be to hire more people! You're clearly in demand. Thanks

"We had
Waltham Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
come out to remove ice dams last year and he was very responsive and pleasant to deal with. Billing took a few months, but it was very reasonable.

Based on this, we decided to have some preventive work done to address some leaking as a result of the ice dams. We agreed to the quote and the work began on the back of the house. After the work was completed,
Waltham Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
told us the shingles were no longer available. He took the liberty of replacing our existing shingles with the new model which was much different in color, without a break in price. He tried to find surplus shingles at several locations for the front of the house where it was more noticeable. He didn't have any luck so we opted to leave the front alone.

After a couple months I noticed there wasn't a slope to the gutter in the rear. I climbed a ladder and found a random 4 foot section that was level. I assumed this was the case for the remainder of the gutter and I called
Waltham Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
to address this. He explained that the gutter had been raised 1/4" in the middle at the time of installation for an 18 foot run either way. He said that 4 foot test section was not indicative of the slope all the way across and that I needed an 18 foot level for this to be accurate. If a slope were present in the gutter, the level should indicate this at every point of consideration. After some research, the minimum suggested slope I found was 1/2" for 10 feet considering 5 reputable sources. He asked if there were standing water anywhere. It wasn't raining at the time but I didn't feel that was important. He suggested I put a hose in it, but the hoses were put away for the season and I didn't feel the need to climb a ladder with a pail of water to prove what I already know. A gutter needs to have a slope to it, no matter where you measure it. He said he would come by to check it during a rain. He didn't follow up after his visit. I called 2 days later to report that I found standing water in the gutter after climbing a ladder once again. He explained that he had been by and that he did not find standing water and proceeded to inform me that little puddles in the gutter didn't qualify. After some disagreement he agreed to send a crew out to raise the gutter.

The install crew explained that some people don't care to see a slope in their gutter and he assumed that we felt that way. I explained to him that we assumed that the slope of the gutter in the back would match the front. I suggested he ask future customers to avoid misunderstanding and didn't pursue that any further. The following day
Waltham Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
came out to follow up. I tried to explain why I was not pleased and he wouldn't let me finish my thought before defending himself. He explained that the gutter was raised 1/2-1 inch in the middle at the time of install which contradicts our first conversation on the subject where he mentions 1/4 inch. In any event, neither slope matches the convention which was a part of my research and we weren't asked how we would like it. I am livid that I have to write such a review and I hope that the level of detail provided in this review will give future customers a good look into his character.

"I received three quotes from roofers listed on Angie's List.
Waltham Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
Snow (
Waltham Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
) came over and evaluated the job. I selected
Waltham Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
Snow based on the price and the promise that they would finish the job before Thanksgiving.

If I had any questions, they had a customer service representative that was very knowledgeable and helpful (
Waltham Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
) . Most of our communication was e-mail, some phone. She kept me updated on everything pertaining to my job, and she actually suggested the color of my roof and I am very happy with it.

The work was quality and the clean up was good, and completed before Thanksgiving. My neighbors say it looks great!

"The work was performed satisfactorily. Based on this, I contacted them on 8/3/2011 to perform additional work. We agreed on a time to meet to get an evaluation and an estimate. The representative never showed up and didn't call to let me know there was a problem with fulfilling the appointment."

"We had damage from ice dams over the winter, and being a procrastinator I waited until June to do anything about it. I called
Waltham Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
and he answered the phone and listened to me describe the problem and what I wanted done. I was thrilled to find out that he was comfortable communicating via email/text as I don't always have the opportunity to make a phone call. He came over and looked at the problem and gave me an estimate for doing the roof work. I found him knowledgeable and agreeable (and he had such good reviews on Angie's list and elsewhere) that decided to have him give me an estimate for covering the fascia with vinyl. He came on two consecutive Saturdays and performed the work. The roof and fascias look great. I'm pleased with the outcome and would hire him again. If I had any complaints, it would be that I found some evidence on the ground that soffit vents had been put in (maybe three or four of the bits of wood they cut out of the soffits to make the vents) but considering how many vents they had to make, I don't consider this a real issue. "We discovered we had some mold growing in our attic and determined it was coming from a leak around the attic vent. I needed to find a roofing company in the area to fix the leak before we could move on with the mold remediation phase. Friends warned that many roofing companies won?t come out for ?small jobs.? As I called a couple of companies or emailed a few to get an estimate, the responses I got were either unreturned calls or ?sorry, we
Waltham Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
?t take small jobs.? I was starting to panic. Although this was a ?small? scale job, it was huge to us! We needed to find someone we could trust to fix our attic vent so we could move on to our ?bigger? problem?the mold! I was so glad to have seen a
Waltham Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
truck in my neighborhood one afternoon on the way to pick up my son from school. I found their phone number online and gave them a call. I was impressed with how friendly the woman who answered the phone was. As I was explaining my ?small? job to her, I was hoping she wouldn?t turn me away. Thankfully she didn?t but she scheduled time for the owner to come out and take a look at our roof since he was in the area. Within a week from my first call to
Waltham Roofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
, the owner was back at our place fixing our attic vent for us on a Saturday. Talk about impressive service! The repair is backed by a 5 year guarantee and I felt the price was reasonable and fair.
