"I have used the vets at
for many years for our dogs care and annual check ups. The team there has always been great and taken the time to" get to know you and your pet. When it came time for our dogs final day, Dr
was very caring and professional. There was no rush and everything went very smoothly. Dr
and Dr
are great folks and I would highly recommend
for you pet care.

"When I first moved to Muskegon 3 years ago I was right around the corner from
so I set them up as my vet. They are professional and provide" good care. Although they are on the expensive side. I have since moved to a different vet that charges much less for the same services. I have paid over $550 for a yearly visit for shots for my dog and cat with 6 months flea and tick and heartworm for my dog. They do not have emergency service though so you are referred to the 24 hour vet in Grand Rapids after 6pm and on weekends. My cat got a urinary stone on a weekend and had to go to Grand Rapids and pay $1,000 just for basic flushing of the bladder and fluids. I then had to come back to
during the week and pay for more care to be done. My cat was also recently diagnosed with a heart murmur at my new vet.
never took the time to get him to stop purring to actually listen to his heart well. And he was last at
6 months ago before the recent diagnosis. Overall they provide good care during the hours they are open, and I wouldn't have a problem recommending them to others. But, I would rather have a vet that provides their own emergency care and takes their time with my animals.

Angie's Answers

The first answer is pretty thorough but I would like to add a few points.

First.. the type of food you are feeding your dog may be the key.  If you are using a food that is grain, rice or corn based in the first three ingredients, please change to a food that is meat or chicken based.  Many dogs are allergic to grain, rice, wheat and corn and these things are used as primary ingredients in many well known, name brand dog foods.  Secondly, all treats that have these ingredients should be cut out.  It takes weeks to months before a food change can show results so you must be patient.  Jumping from one food to another will be counter-productive.

Some dogs are so allergic to flea or other insect bites that one or two bites can cause a severe reaction.  Once the itching/scratching cycle begins, it is hard to stop it.  Benadryl is good but I suggest liquid form.  You can get it inexpensively at one of the dollar stores.  The pills take time to break down in the digestive system so you get better and faster results with the liquid. One tsp= 5cc and most dogs of average size can tolerate that much and more if the dog is a larger breed.

Allergy testing is very expensive and most dogs will test positive to some things.  That does not mean that the itching is coming from those things as many things in the environment can trigger positive test results.  Breaking the cycle of itching is primary and that can be done with prednisone ( short term and last resort after benadryl and bathing), allergy shots( same deal, last resort after easier methods).   This spring and summer have been particularly hard, weather-wise.

Good luck!

After you search for the company, you should get the "no results" page. Scroll down just a little bit, and you'll see a button and a link that say "Add this provider." Click on that to add them to the List! Thanks for the great question.
I'm really sorry! It looks like we made some site changes I hadn't noticed before and it made things just a little more confusing (for me, too!). We'll have to look into this to make it easier.
In the meantime, here's what you do:
1) Look for the Submit a Report button. It's yellow and on the right-hand side of the page.
2) Search for the animal cancer care clinic you're looking for. The search box should be inside a yellow bar.
3) You should see a list of potential matches, but on top of those, there should be "add a provider to the List" text in blue, which is where you'll click to get to the add page.

Let me know if you have any trouble. Sorry, again, for this being so confusing.

Veterinarian reviews in Springfield

I have used them for years as I have other dogs. They are wonderful with my dogs and was very compassionate in the loss of my dog. They are very knowledgeable and informative and I would highly recommend their services to others.

I have done Italian Greyhound rescue for 16 years and have dealt with all types of Veterinarians. Both my visits to

2321 Dick Pond Rd.
Springfield Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
Beach SC has to be one of the most insulting experiences I have ever had.

When I brought my two Italian Greyhounds in for a dental they insisted they give them Lepto as part of their vaccine buster. Italian Greyhounds typically do not do well with this part of the booster and I have been witness to many severe reactions to it.

Yesterday I brought another Italian Greyhound in for a dental. Even though we did have an appointment, the waiting room was full and I had to wait a very long time. One of the technicians finally came to us and asked to take

to get her weight and temperature. When she was finally returned she had been given a fecal, a heartworm test and given 2 shots so she could take the Bordetella that they wanted to give her. They never asked and never told me they were going to do all of this to her.

When I went to check out the bill was $142. and change. A lot for a pre-exam for a dental. I was sort of shocked. (We are living on a fixed income). When I asked the check out person why it was so much she said they added a $25. deposit for the dental appointment for tomorrow. She said it will be applied to the cost of the dental.

Today she was supposed to go in for the dental. We had winter storm warnings all night and this morning. My husband had come back from a sleep study at 6:30 and said the roads were slippery. That is was sleeting. I called to cancel the appointment for

. I told them all the schools were closed, a lot of the bridges were now closed and the County was now asking to folks to stay put if they didn't need to go out. She said I would

my deposit. I told her I would make another appointment today for later in the week. She said she had to check with

(might be one of the vets). She called me back to inform me that I would indeed

my deposit. I told her I could not believe that they would ask me to risk an accident or something worse just to keep the dental appointment. She said those were the rules.

Can't ever imagine being treated this badly by anyone. They should know better.

We have taken all of our pets to this clinic for over 25 years when they were originally located on the 183 service road, when it was just basically a street rather than the road it is now. They have always provided us with relevant information during illness such as cancer with our last dog. They were very compassionate during a very difficult time for us. When we recently had a stray cat hanging around we took it in to see if it was chipped before we took it to

Pets Alive. They told me to come right into the office and spent about 10 minutes trying to find a chip. They didn't charge me for an office visit. We would not take our guys to anybody else even though there is a vet just down the street from us!

My cat's regular vet was not able to help me with my cat's problem. I had been doing what he asked for about 3 months and the problem was not getting any better. I felt pretty alone and worried. I took him to Dr.
Springfield Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
, immediately felt we would get an answer to his problem.. Her confidence, skill, knowledge and support eased by frustration and worry She diagnosed the problem, started treatment and what is so important about this vet, is their follow up with phone calls in between appointments. You know Dr.
Springfield Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
and her staff cares about your cat almost as much as you do. I travel over 50 miles round trip to see her and do not care, would travel further if necessary. My cat is on the road to recovery, thanks to Dr.
Springfield Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
. I give her the highest recommendation possible. The cost is very reasonable, we have had three visits.

She knows animals really well. She does what she needs to do but she's not cruel about it. She works really well with him and he could be difficult because he didn't like eye drops and ear drops. She's very good. I think she's the best one in town. My friend recommended her and we tried three other places that weren't quite as good.

Our dog had battled with an auto immune disease problem for a few months. With our local vet and a thorough assessment from the University of Michigan, we were able to get the disease under control and her health completely stable. Then we migrated south and needed to find a vet close by to maintain the protocol. This is when we met "Dr.
Springfield Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
". Our first visit caused our spider senses to go up. Other than the one we dealt directly with, the receptionists and vet techs were "rough" and unkind. Dr.
Springfield Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
was arrogant and complacent - not to mention, critical of our vet and the protocol we had been following. He came across as though he knew better than all of the previous vets - including eye-rolls and inferences. I'll make a long, sad story short. A couple of visits later, our dog had become worse. We took her in one final time - by now, infected lesions had appeared. He sloughed it off, gave her a low
Springfield Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
antibiotic and sent us on our way. The next day she was much worse and in severe pain so we sought another vet who called in all of the troops, ran many test, and tried desperately to save our dog. Two days later, she died. Unfortunately, the treatment Dr.
Springfield Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
prescribed was a brush off. No lab tests suggested, no cultures, no fluids, and weak antibiotics. Granted, she was not completely healthy but his non-caring, burned out attitude plainly contributed to her death. In summary, BURNOUT and what appears to be low

in this veterinary office. Complacency abounds - caring professionalism does not.

My animals and I have seen the vets at this practice for approx. 10 years...in that time , they have cared for 7 dogs and 3 cats, 3 of them having chronic medical problems, 1 having an acute, rare condition that required referral to specialty vet.
At all times the animals and I have been treated with nothing but the utmost professionalism, knowledge and kindness.
From the
Springfield Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
at the front desk to the vet techs and vets, everyone is great.
When I moved to the area years ago, I never dreamed I would have the good fortune to stumble upon a practice as wonderful as this one.
I'd never go anywhere else...
- Brenda B.

Very peaceful. Dr. V. is kind and caring. She is my first preference when these times occur. She has been to my home a couple of times. I highly recommend her service.
