"Great company to work with. Our initial phone call to find out more information was very informative. gave us a few Granite supply companies" to go look at granite. He explained the various grades of granite and was able to give us some rough estimates over the phone. We went to look at the different Granite slabs and found one that we liked and put it on hold for . The Granite supplier was very familiar with and their great service. This was good to know that we were hiring the right company for our granite install. came out on time to give us a firm estimate. We were impressed with 's professionalism and honesty. We hired based on this and all the great review's posted here on Angie's list. All of the next scheduled appointments with crew from template making to installation were on-time. No waiting around wondering when they would show up. During the installation, called a few hours into the job to check to see how everything was going. Then he showed up personally to talk to make sure he was meeting our expectations. I also used plumber to install the sink plumbing/faucet. Once the Countertops were installed, did another follow up to ensure we were satisfied with the countertops. It is easy to tell that is dedicated to great customer service and wants to make sure the job is done right. We would hire them again for any future Granite needs.

"The process was very smooth. They came out and measured in order to create a template, I went to the showroom so that I could pick exactly what I wanted, and then" they came out and installed it in a timely manner. The installers were very professional and courteous. I was very happy with the entire process.

Artificial (quartz) is cheaper, more uniform, has fewer voids to collect dirt, and is almost as abrasion and chip resistant.

Granite is more expensive, stains and collects dirt a little easier as a rule, and is slighly more chip resistant as a rule.

For durability, I would not rate one over the other - barring a 250 lb guy hopping up on it and cracking it, either is likely to outlive you. Selection is typically based on appearance - quartz tends to be more uniform looking and does not always do a good job of simulating the veining and variations that natural stone has.

Now some of the man made stone counters rival the real granite and othe stones without the maintainence of stone. There are many of them out there and it is more a choice of looks than anything else. Corian is still a strong choice of tops today and one advantage is it can be repaired when scratched on site. If you don't mind the maintainence you can't beat the looks of real stone though unless you need a few pieces to make up the top as the graining may be hard to match up. I am impressed though at how realistic some of the man made products have become. It is more an issue of what brand are available in your area. Most all are made the same way with crushed stone and basically an epoxy binder used to make the sheets.

Countertop Installation reviews in North Dartmouth

I dealt with before making the decision to have the work done by Onyx, and she could not have been more helpful and patient answering my many questions. I went and met her in person to view samples, get final questions answered, and I decided then to have them do the job after getting many other estimates. There was no sales ...More pressure at all, which I really appreciated! set up appointments for the measuring, and then the installation. Both crews were timely, and extremely friendly. The job was done on time, with only $40 added to the original estimate after exact measurements were taken, which is reasonable. I would say that the new countertops are absolutely perfect, and look magnificent. I would strongly recommend Onyx to anyone. Excellent company. Thanks!

I originally contacted because of a promo running for Quartz countertops. After speaking with him we decided to use him for the countertops as well as kitchen cabinets. We had a quote in hand from the place we originally were going to order the cabinets from and he said he would beat it by $500 for the same exact cabinets. His ...More price for the Quartz we chose were about 30% lower than any other quotes we received. From the beginning was responsive. He came out to take measurements of the space the day after I contacted him. The only knock on the whole process would be with the cabinets. Let me start by saying that most of this is not 's fault. Some cabinets came damaged. always responded to my concerns quickly, but the process from start to finish seemed a little drawn out. Once a few of the cabinet headaches were settled, it was time for countertops. He had the countertops cut, delivered and installed the day after my cabinets were installed! From my experience, this process usually takes about 7 days. This was awesome and greatly appreciated. The kitchen came out great and the countertops are gorgeous, we are extremely happy with the outcome.
All said and done, I would use for my next project and I would recommend him in a heartbeat.

I was impressed with 's authenticity and genuine concern for the quality and results of the job. I had a short timeline and tight schedule which and his team accommodated brilliantly. The installers were friendly and professional. the fab shop that uses for the granite has ...More an impressively wide selection of slabs at all price points. worked closely with me to discuss the pros and cons of certain granite colors including digging through several stacks and moving various selections around the shop floor to compare them. I also liked the fact that collaborated with me on the backsplash design. I had some ideas going in to the project on what I wanted to do and brought some other good design ideas to the table that ultimately proved to be good concepts that we worked into the final design. I would use Granite Services again based on this experience.

Kept me informed of the tasks on a weekly/daily basis. Always on time and extremely courteous, polite and professional. Extremely clean and cleaned up surroundings on a daily basis. Protected environment and hauled off trash daily. I am not easy to please and I have high expectations. I could not have been more pleased with the beautiful outcome ...More and service. Above and beyond attention to fine detail. Even came back to add a bottom brush to my screen door.

hires sub-contractors. All are experts in their fields. They take you to the tile store & to the plumbing supply store. They provide a nice dumpster.
- Thomas B.

The construction part of the project was not fun! We basically had to live on the second floor of our house during the first month so any delays were frustrating - our only complaint was lack of communication and some missed deadlines on the part of the person who managed the construction crew that NEKB hired for the job. However, we were very impressed ...More with the workers and the quality of the work. There were a couple flaws in the cabinets and ordered replacements right away. The job took about 7 1/2 weeks; a week and half over due to a delay in the counters, which were worth the wait!
The end result is a beautiful kitchen - we are absolutely thrilled!

This company is amazing! I had explored three other granite companies before hearing about DSI. When I started my granite , I Googled companies and had checked out two other companies in the Twin Cities area but overall did not feel they offered quite what I was looking for. I then joined Angie's List hoping to discover ...More new companies, and I came across DSI. As I work the same hours as DSI is open, I was off on Columbus Day and checked DSI out as a walk-in. Immediately when I walked in, Crystal invited me into her office and asked me how I had heard about them, what I was looking for, etc.. I told her I found out about them through Angie's List, and she immediately said, "well that makes you eligible for a free 16 gauge stainless steel sink!". I didn't even know it was advertised on their Angie's listing, so the fact that she was offering me a nice sink off the bat made me easily liken to DSI right away. Crystal then introduced me to , one of the owners, who greeted me warmly and took a lot of time showing me around their warehouse, perusing remnants, and looking at what granite slabs they already had in stock. I had informed them I had a particular granite slab in mind called Black Galaxy, which they didn't currently have in their warehouse, but they gave me info on granite suppliers they worked with and encouraged me to check them out so I could get exactly what I wanted. DSI was only the second out of the four granite companies I checked out that informed me I could check out their suppliers (I didn't even know you could do that!). I checked out GS Granite which is within 5 minutes of DSI, and was given a tour by Britanie who took a lot of time with me showing me their HUGE warehouse of granite slabs. They had one Black Galaxy slab left (just my luck!) and I decided to purchase it. The whole time, Crystal was great about keeping in touch over e-mail communications. , one of the owners from DSI, came out with a coworker who installed everything on 11/11/15. They were on time, polite, friendly, and careful around my home. They took their time making sure everything was done correctly. I now have a beautiful new kitchen and vanity, and the granite is just GORGEOUS! I am so very pleased! I would recommend DSI to anybody, they do wonderful work, have great customer service, and offer very fair pricing.

I went to and picked out the slab in person. (owner) came by the house to do the template. My husband removed the old laminate countertop. Note that you will not have a countertop from the template measurement to the installation which takes about a week.
I went back to ...More in a few days to determine how to cut the slabs to make most of the stone design.
and his team carried the extremely heavy countertops up our many front stairs and installed with no issue.
I liked being able to pick out the slab as small samples are not fully representative of what varying slabs could look like.
