Our people work with the customer in designing a particular look that appeals to the customer. The bulk of our work is refinishing existing floors. Our workmen go well beyond the industry norm in providing level, clean, smooth wood floor surfaces. The company offers staining in a wide variety of colors and shades, as well as polyurethane and stays in touch with up to the minute technologies in new finishes and products such as water base finishes and pastel stains as they appear on the market. Refinishing involves sanding with three different grits of sandpaper then a circular buffing to ensure a smooth surface. Followed by an application of three coats of oil based polyurethane or stain color to darken the floor and two coats of polyurethane. We do not use sealers. Sealers are a quick drying lacquer base product that will dry up with in an hour so that another coat of oil base polyurethane can be applied. These sealers have no time to penetrate the wood and sits on top filling in the rough sanding marks as it dries. Therefore,companies using sealers do not have to sand the floors as smooth usually ending with a 50 or 60 grit sand paper. By using a straight oil base polyurethane for each coat allows bonding and a slow dry time allows the finish to penetrate the wood deeper than a sealer will. However a slow dry time shows any sanding imperfections so we must sand our floors much smoother than the competition. We sand the floors fining up with 100 grit paper than we use 150 grit screens to tie in the different knaps from the different machines we are using. Only the most complete sanding procedures and the best quality products, with maintenance and up keep will give the longevity allowing your floors to give great looks and durability that should last 10 – 15 years between total refinishing.
