"They did a great job. My back yard was like a jungle and they really cleaned it up nice.
I was totally amazed. They took all yard waste away with them. They were great!!

"After frustrating, no-show experiences with another landscape company, we were very pleased to see how responsive

was. We called them late in the afternoon, mid-week, expecting to maybe get a consultation visit that weekend. Imagine our surprise when they said "Hey, we're right down the street! Should we come over now?"...more />
Within an hour we had spoken with their representative and been given some suggestions on what to do with the roughly 3.5' wide space in front of our house. We had some ideas of what we wanted, but they had much better ones (we had thought to trim out the space with brick, they suggested cobblestones laid on the side - they look fantastic, and they'll last forever).

We stressed that we were not in any rush, as long as the work was done before winter, so scheduling was not an issue. They showed up sometime in October and were done in two days, more or less. This included removing a VERY large bush, and cementing the cobblestones into place so they'll never move. They planted some nice perennials and laid down mulch. We are very pleased with the cleaned-up, attractive look, and would definitely call them again. Indeed, the back patio needs some work, and it will be Alpine that we call when we're ready to get to it.

worked alone and with great effort over a period of a few days, was very careful with and protective of my new paving stone areas. He was extremely helpful to me in picking out plants that would do well in the type of soil I have, and in the areas that are mostly shaded during the major portion of the day. The varieties of plants will mature at different points of the growing season so there will always be something nice to look at. He gave me directions on how to keep it looking good on my own, made it easier for me to manage the planting areas and worked with my desire for peonies along a long and narrow planting bed and no tall bushes in front of the house. Otherwise I was essentially clueless on what plants would do well in the shade, and with each other and had no specific preferences other than the peonies and blueberries. I am very happy with the results and even though most of the plants are in dormancy at this time of the year, they still look pretty good. I (and my neighbors) can't wait to see it in the spring/summer. The areas will look fantastic. Unfortunately I am very skilled in propagating pesky weeds that have absolutely no curbside appeal and people will think I moved away when they see the flowers."

"It was well done, but it took awhile for them to get it done. We have a very small yard, and the price they quoted to take care of it for the summer we thought was way too high."

"This was one of our better experiences working with a contractor.

and

were very diligent and professional throughout. We went through several iterations of the proposal, as they helped us think through shapes and materials. They were creative and made some very good design suggestions. Once the work started, a number of small (and bigger) decisions had to be made and they made sure to always consult with us. A couple of surprises came up during the work. (i) we uncovered a rock ledge where a new retainer wall would have been installed; we altered the design to install a more informal group of large field stones; (ii) buried underneath the old blue stone walkway, we found another walkway made of beautiful granite cobblestones, unfortunately set in concrete. This older walkway was too low to use, but they tried to recover as many intact cobblestones as possible. They put some nice, unscheduled finishing touches (e.g. edging some beds with the cobblestones) without a fuss. They carefully dug up a large number of hostas, preserving them for future plantings. They neatly stacked up salvaged materials out of sight. They left the site very neat at the end of each day. Once started, the work proceeded without undue delays. We are very pleased with the results, which look very crisp and elegant - and likely better than our original conception."

was a delight to work with. Prompt, personable. Owner was present at all times. Saw some existing damage to foundation that will be repaired in near future."

"Sent email to the address on their website on 5/21; still no response from the company; guess they don't want the business, not even a courtesy call or email advising they were really busy."

was very helpful and very honest. She told me how busy they were, told me when they would be able to come by, when they could expect to do the job, and gave me a ballpark dollar figure based on my description on the telephone (this number was not far from what other contractors had quoted). She then encouraged me to go with a local company (her company is a six miles away). She did not turn me down, but, rather, was being realistic about the time frame. The fact that she encouraged me to go with someone from my town was, I thought, a good sign."

is a great communicator and service provider for lawn maintenance. He was the first business to respond to my email inquiry from Angie's List and gave me an honest take on how to replace and take care of the lawn for the summer. Since we are a condo unit he was willing to provide a quote and explain his services multiple times so all members of the association understood. Since we contacted him during a busy time the quote process did take a few weeks. Also once the contract was signed and sent, it took an additional two weeks to hear back from M.A.S., but once the work started you could see the transformation in the yard was immediate and we received a couple of compliments from neighbors right away. I would recommend his service to other homeowners, especially the fact that he splits payment into three phases (deposit, 1st day of work, day work is completed). There is more security in knowing the job will get done with that type of payment plan. There were three men on his crew, on site, each time they came to the property; so work was done quickly as well. We signed up for his monthly maintenance plan as well (one cut a week plus edging and trimming).
