"
came to our home yesterday to redo our bathtub and was punctual, very personable and easy to work with. He did an amazing job changing our" pink bathtub to white. He walked me through everything he was doing and in the end both my husband and I are so impressed. He kept the work space tidy and cleaned up immaculately so there is no
of his work left behind, only a beautiful tub that looks like new.
does amazing work. Hire him!

"
was very professional and provided the surface prep of both areas. He first cleaned the shower
to near new finish" to save us money, but I insisted to refinish the surface. On the following morning,
applied protective coverings for all adjacent surfaces, applied the slip-resistant surface and resurfaced both areas.
was very professional and answered all of our questions about the process.
is very personable and is a skilled craftsman. We highly recommend both for any future jobs.

Bathtub refinishing

Over time, the bathtub can begin to show signs of wear with stains, scratches, a dull finish or other ugly marks. Bathtub refinishing is an option that can return a bathtub or shower enclosure to like-new appearance.

OK - terminology issue here. The "shower pan" is a collection liner than underlies the shower floor itself, and is designed (if built and plumbed right) to trap any leakage from the shower floor and route it to the same floor drain pipe. Example image here, copper in this case -

http://indigochreblog.files.wordpress.com/2012/12/img_0835.jpg

It sounds like your are saying the shower floor or base unit failed - likely a fiberglass or plastic shower, which commonly fail due to incomplete support under them. This can be repaired if fiberglass, but is not usually done unless just microcracking, as it is hard to find an expert - usually you have to have a car body fiberglass specialist or a surfboard repair expert do it, and the color will not match perfectly unless you get a new gelcoat over the entire base unit. Cost about $300-500, ASSUMING the material can be repaired - true fiberglass can, thermoplastic can sometimes be welded but anyone's guess how long it will last without cracking again, plastics like PVC can rarely be fixed so they will hold someone standing on them. Any sort of repair is likely to crack again, because you have done nothing to remove the cause of the cracking which is standing on a base that is not fully supported over its full extent. Some cheepo or desperate plumbers try injecting non-pressuring type expanding foam underneath to improve the support - this does a great job of supporting it but unfortunately supports mold, so starts stinking in short order as a rule.

The normal fix is to remove and replace it, because once it is out there is no sense in putting a damaged one back in for the small increment in cost. Removing it means taking the shower wall liners or the bottom row or two of tile out so you can get the new base unit into place (because they overlap it), then replacing them. So, the $3000 range indicated is indicative of this type of job, which typically runs from a very low of around $1500-2000 for an identical base unit, to more typically $3-5,000 depending on whether a shower enclosure or tile walls. Of course, when the new one is put in, it is CRITICAL that it be fully supported - this means rubbing plumbers rouge or similar marking substance on the bottom, test fitting it, and then lifting it out and checking that all the stiffener ribs and support pads made contact with the pan, and making adjusments as necessary until it has full contact, then standing in it and rocking back and forth to check for any points not making full contat and fixing them.

The $10,000 plus numbers you got must have been for entire shower replacement down to the joists and studs, and the $30,000 range number would be typical for a full bathroom remodel with new shower or shower/tub and doors and surround, wall finishes, vanity, sink, toilet, and flooring and door.

Sorry, I forget the name of the young man who did the job. But, he was superb in communication and keep us in the loop as he was working. He mixed the color and made sure that we agreed on it before proceeding. It is almost a month now and the re-glazed stall looks beautiful. I was impressed how he methodically taped off the edges, glass door, shower arm, etc., At the end, he left no smudges and cleaned up the area. The bath stall looks as good as new.
He seems to take enough precautions in exhausting the area with his own fan, etc.,
Prior to the job, the communication was very smooth and the process was explained clearly.

Great results and great people!
Framingham Bathtub Refinishers Provider Name Locked
promptly scheduled a technician to my job and in just a few hours had an old heavily worn and hard water stained tub looking just like a shiny new model. They took great care to protect all surrounding surfaces and left the area spotlessly clean. Couldn't be happier with the results. Thanks

came as scheduled and gave me his evaluation and price. His worker came on time a few days later and worked diligently. He covered everything (though some dust does get thru), installed an exhaust and did an amazing job. My bathtub and sink look brand new and gorgeous. No prior re-

The men who actually did the work in this project did a good job, but th overall project was a nightmare.
From the beginning, they were very pushy, trying to persuade me to buy certain products that I clearly told them I did not want. It took some convincing on my part, but we had chosen something that would work for us. I might add that the choices were limited.
.We had no choice regarding where to get the tiles, but I did find something that would be acceptable to us. (the tile vendor made a mistake in the order for the shelves, but I assumed the tiles were correct. I suspect now that the tiles that were installed were wrong too. But since that was the least of our problems, I didn't purse that issue.
They pushed us to start at their convenience in January but never respected the fact that we had major heating problems and need to take care of that first. They kept saying that they didn't mind having the other workers there working on the heating, but it mattered to us to have so many in our house at once and my husband who is in a wheelchair suffering from not only his illness, but the 49 degree temperature in our house.
Everything they suggested in scheduling was for their convenience and never for ours.
They were adamant. We finally gave in to their choice of starting date and the work was to take a week. It did take a week, but they installed the wrong shower base. It was not the one the salesman described. they did not admit fault but said they could put a threshold ramp so the wheelchair could get over the lip into the shower.
They didn't come back until a month later. The worker showed up 2 hours early. We weren't home and came back in time for our appointed time, but the worker had left a message saying that he was there but we weren't home and we would have to call to make another appointment. He made us feel like we were wrong for not being there when he was -even though we didn't miss the appointment time. Again, everything was to make it more convenient for them.
When he did come back he said he couldn't do anything but measure to have the ramp made. Why could they have done that a month previous? its beyond me.
4 MONTHS LATER we got a call to say they had the ramp made and wanted to come and install it. I had called along the way to see what the status was. The office and workers kept telling us that it was a custom job to make the threshold ramp. They must think I am unaware or stupid, but it doesn't take that long.
Once again they were difficult to deal with in arranging the appointment time so I had to bend to their wishes and agree to the time they wanted. The ramp was installed and then came request for the balance due. I disputed it since i waited 5 months to have this work done. The office was cold and unyielding. I feel they should have given a ten percent discount at least off the small balance that was left. It would be good business practice to do so. I assume they want repeat business.
The rudeness and the lack of professionalism and dishonesty is astounding. They never really admitted their mistakes in ordering, etc. Parts that were to be installed with the correct shower base were

in my basement as if i wouldn't notice.
This way of doing business disgusts me. There are issues I haven't even mentioned here. Apparently this company doesn't want people to come back as future customers. We have plans for three renovation projects in the future and will not be using this company.

The

team was punctual, professional and extremely responsive. They sanded and applied what appeared to be an epoxy material to the tub. The entire process took about 2 hours.
After 2 days the material was dry and we noticed a few bumps on the bottom of the tub. I contacted

Setting up the appointment was easy. I informed Mr.
Framingham Bathtub Refinishers Provider Name Locked
this was my first time having a tub glazed so I asked several questions. I was displeased that Mr. or Mrs.
Framingham Bathtub Refinishers Provider Name Locked
or their son who did the work failed to point out the important detail that a bathmat could not be used post glazing. Not only did they fail to mention it but the information was not clearly worded and the last point in their small typed warranty information. When large sections of my tub peeled off I called and they asked me if I used a bathmat to which I honestly answered "yes". Mrs.
Framingham Bathtub Refinishers Provider Name Locked
told me that using a bathmat means I broke the warranty and they could come fix it but I would need to pay for it and her husband would call me back to setup the appointment. Then when Mr.
Framingham Bathtub Refinishers Provider Name Locked
finally called me back (after 2 more weeks of my tub peeling more and more each day) he started the call by asking me in a stern
Framingham Bathtub Refinishers Provider Name Locked
"don't you think you should take some reasonability for this issue?!?!" I had not said more than a hello and I was not challenging the cost of $150 to pay for the fix. I agreed to pay the cost to fix the tub since it was part of the warranty. I suggested to Mr.
Framingham Bathtub Refinishers Provider Name Locked
that since this is a common problem (his wife's words) he make it clear to new customers that you are not able to use a bathmat following a tub reglaze. Finally when the tub was fixed I had to ask Mrs.
Framingham Bathtub Refinishers Provider Name Locked
to send me something that clearly states what cleaners can/can't be used. In the flyer she sent me the first point in BOLD type said no bathmats. I asked why this wasn't sent to me prior to the service to which I never received a response. In the end Mr.
Framingham Bathtub Refinishers Provider Name Locked
only charged me $75 (not $150) to fix the tub but this whole thing could have been avoided with better communication. Unfortunately I would not recommend this company based on their lack of clear or prompt communication and their defensive customer service approach.

The shower/tub area in the main bathroom was in terrible condition. For at least 10 years I tried to find someone to repair it before it deteriorated to this extent. Finally, this summer I was determined to get it repaired and decided to check on Angie’s List if there were vendors who could perform the job. After reading reviews on several bath companies, I decided BathFitter (Roseville location) was experienced handling similar situations and had good customer reviews. Since I waited so long, I now opted for a tub to shower only conversion rather than just repair or replace a bathtub and repair the shower area because it is more common now, provides an age in place bathroom alternative, and no longer seems a deterrent to selling a home.
I called BathFitter BFU 176 (Roseville) on 7/20/15 and expressed some of my concerns about the existing condition and desire for a tub to shower only conversion.
Framingham Bathtub Refinishers Provider Name Locked
assured me they had dealt with other bathrooms that were in bad shape and that they do the type of conversions I wanted. She scheduled a home meeting with a representative for 7/23/15. The day prior to the meeting I appreciated a confirmation call from BathFitter.
BathFitter estimator
Framingham Bathtub Refinishers Provider Name Locked
explained their system, options, time frame and answered queries I raised about the process and options. He, too, reassured me that they handled showers in bad condition with satisfactory results. I was impressed with the BathFitter products and their system and that their workers are employees rather than contractors. I appreciate that one worker sees the job through from start to finish which is more expedient and efficient than a parade of contractors each performing a part of the job.
Framingham Bathtub Refinishers Provider Name Locked
was experienced in construction and knowledgeably explained the process whereas other companies with whom I have used for house projects had estimators whose background was sales and they could not answer questions other than cost related issues.
BathFitter was scheduled 5-7 weeks out but in the meantime they sent me a helpful list of things to do prior to the shower installation. Removing pictures from the wall, for example, might not have occurred to me. Also, they asked homeowners to clear space in either the garage or basement in case of bad weather. The suggestions assisted the homeowner and installer in making the experience go more smoothly.
As part of the shower installation the bathroom window was replaced by a vendor recommended by BathFitter on 8/11/15 and it went well. On 8/13/15 I called BathFitter to notify them this step was completed and to discuss tentative dates for the shower installation. We discussed some option dates and
Framingham Bathtub Refinishers Provider Name Locked
said she would call me back to schedule when my products came in. On 8/18/15
Framingham Bathtub Refinishers Provider Name Locked
called to schedule the installation. We agreed on 8/24 and 8/25/15. She answered questions I had about the process and time involved. On 8/21/15 BathFitter called to remind me.
Both days
Framingham Bathtub Refinishers Provider Name Locked
, the installer, arrived promptly and within two days transformed an old, rotting shower stall into a lovely, modern one. Taking out the old tub and having new fixtures and new walls makes it look like an entirely different space.
Framingham Bathtub Refinishers Provider Name Locked
has a positive, can do attitude which made me confident that the job would be done well. Even when he left his supplies overnight, they were orderly and unobtrusive. He is detail oriented yet cognizant of the overall project. It is amazing what a difference two days made. One thing I had not anticipated was that some debris fell into the basement shower below, but
Framingham Bathtub Refinishers Provider Name Locked
cleaned it up and repaired a nick when I mentioned it. It is always awkward having workers in one’s home, but
Framingham Bathtub Refinishers Provider Name Locked
’s pleasant, respectful manner made it more comfortable.
Everyone with whom I interacted from BathFitter was professional and proficient. Their communications were appropriate and informative. From the receptionist to installer they seem to know their products and system well. I would highly recommend them to anyone considering a tub or shower remodel.
