"They came out several times between taking the measurements and completing the installation. They cleaned up well when completed. Everything worked out perfectly.

"They weren’t seeing any reporting coming from the panels. It had been two or three weeks before they contacted me to let me know. The problem is with the link" box that connects to the network. When I described the box to him that they had installed, they said they have been having a lot of problems with those boxes. They sent a technician out to replace them. He was very punctual and courteous. However, it doesn’t appear that the boxes were replaced. I was under the impression that they were going to replace those boxes. They are currently functioning properly and there are no troubles. These are the same boxes that have failed reporting three or four times now.

Are you talking about powering your home solely on solar (i.e. no back up power source or off grid).

The power, once convered from DC to AC via the inverter, is suitable for use by the home.

Most solar application are in supplement to the current powering of the home and will spin the meter back in the day but are not the primary.

OK - that should strike Atlantic Plumbing off your vendor list !

You say female pipe to copper pipe connection - I hope you are not saying they connected copper directly to galvanized or black iron pipe. If so, there should have been a dielectric union put in there to prevent corrosion, which could be part of your problem.

Also, generally a bad idea to use teflon tape for hot water tank connections - too much thermal cycling, loosens it up over time. Should use plumbers dope for that application.

It sounds to me like a connection problem - if the tank itself was leaking it should be flooding the top of the tank or more likely running down through the insulation and dripping out the bottom.

Unless you are a do it yourselfer, sounds like you need to find a new plumber with good reviews and rating in your area - Search the List (in green banner bar). This should be an easy fix - should have him put in dielectric couplings (about $5-10 each depending on pipe size) if current connection is iron to copper, and even if not, have him redo connection not only for cold but also hot water - if one was done poorly, probably both were.

Their work turned out fine. They have been good to respond when I call. They were good with working with the contracts. I was not happy with the energy part of it that

I did not have a great experience with them. They did not know how to turn the panels on. They were not turned on until about 2 months after they were installed. They never gave me a green power contract so I was out $1400. They ended up settling with me but they did put up a big fight. In the end, they gave me good solar panels.

The 1st E-mail to Solar Universe.
I have been
reading the reviews of Solar Universe, and I
Brighton Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
’t know what I am doing wrong
to have such a drastic experience.
On April 16th
2014 we signed up for solar panels.
April 17th
the
Brighton Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
paperwork was given to
Brighton Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
(The sales Rep)
April 18th
Solar Universe comes out to the house to take measurements and panel
placement. At this time it was identified that the space required for the
sub-panel and disconnect would not fit next to the main panel. We agreed
that the sub panel would go in the garage and the disconnect would be about 30
feet away and what we thought at the time was “line of sight”.
April 30th
the 10% deposit forms were signed by all parties. Through EnerBank

May 28th
Called
Brighton Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
just to check if he got the
Brighton Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
information and if he needed
anything else from us. He told me everything was all good and that due to
high winds they got delayed. They should start next week.
June 4th
Called 877-437-6527. The lady on the phone told me that they were waiting
on parts and that next week the parts would be in.
June 11th
Called 877# again. Lady said parts will be in next week. I then
asked to talk to a manager. After waiting on hold I was told that the
manager would give me a call back. They never did call me back.
June 12th
Called 877# again. The lady on the phone said parts will be in on Monday.
June 18th
Called the 877#. Lady tells me that the parts are in and someone will
call to set up a time with me. They did call and we agreed on Wednesday
the 25 would be a good start day.
June 24th
Brighton Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
called and told me that they would start tomorrow. I make
arrangements with the neighbors to get access to their back yard.
June 25th
My phone rings at 6:35am. They will NOT be in to start. They may or may
not show up today.
June 26th
Install starts!!!!!!! But they only get the rails on and then stop.
High winds. I understand this, Safety First.
June 27th
Install continues. The electrician shows up. He tells me that the
rules have changed and that the disconnect needs to be within 10 feet and in
“line of sight”, and that special permission is needed to put the sub-panel and
disconnect next to the main-panel. I call
Brighton Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
, and he had the
install supervisor call me. We agreed that we could continue with the
install leaving the sub-panel in the garage and waiting on the disconnect
position to be approved by NV Energy. This way, the install could keep
moving forward and all we have to worry about was the disconnect.
At the end of
the workday
Brighton Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
had showed up and the Electrician,
Brighton Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
, and I agreed that
wok would resume on Monday the 30th. And the Electrician asked
how early he could start. My response was any time. We agreed on
6am to start and at 7am we would need to get access to the neighbor’s
yard.
June 30th……As
of writing this email (11:15am)…Nothing…… No phone call. No Electrician…..
Nothing.
I make
arrangements with my neighbors. I make sure that everyone has complete access
to my garage. My wife and I also work nights, not getting home until
12:30am. So when I agree to 6am that is inconvenience for me, but I do it
anyway so the job can get done.
Solar Universe
was suggested to me by a co-work who had panels installed. A lot of
people that I work with have been asking me how the solar panel install is
going.
Well April 16th
I signed up for it and 87!!! days later I still
Brighton Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
’t have all the panels
installed. Some of them are sitting in my garage.
My neighbor
whom I have to keep going over and saying “maybe today they will be in to do
some work”, isn’t very impressed.
The contract
that I signed states that “Approximate start date” approximately 30 days
from signing of contract. My start date was 84 days from signing of
contract.
I feel I need
to be honest with you. I am not impressed with the service that I have
received. I also
Brighton Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
’t have any faith that when the system gets installed
and is up and running, that we will be problem free.
The Response From Solar Universe.

Brighton Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked

Attached you will find a copy of the email regarding the
time frame of my installation and a copy of my power bills from April 16th
to the date when NV Energy swapped my meter (August 4th ).
I also have some concerns about the system that was
installed and what we paid for.
We signed up for a 9 kW system with 36 panels and
microinverters. This was to cover 100%
of our yearly power usage. When the
individual came by to do the measurements on the house he informed me that it
was going to be 33 panels but we would still be getting a 9kw system. When I asked why, he didn’t really have an
answer. He did tell me that it wasn’t
because the roof size, he said 36 panels would fit just fine.
Once the installation was complete and the system turned on,
I started noticing that I wasn’t getting the power generated that I was
expecting.
After going over the specifications of the microinverters
that are installed, and after contacting Enphase, the manufacture of the M250
microinverter; it is not possible for me to ever generate 9kw of power, even in
an “ideal” situation. The M250 has a
Brighton Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked

output of 250 watts and with 33 panels in an ideal situation the
Brighton Solar Panel Installers Provider Name Locked
output
would be 8.25kw. Enphase did confirm
that I would need 36 panels and 36 M250 microinvertsers to have a 9kw
system.
I understand that “actual” power generated is dependent upon
many different factors; angle of the roof, direction the panels are facing,
cloud coverage, etc., etc.
But my system even in an “ideal” condition will not even
generate the power that I understood we were paying for.
I propose that instead of paying for my power from April 16th
to August 4th like you had offered, a price of $xxx.yy. That 3 panels (like the ones I currently
have) and 3 M250 microinverters be installed.
Bringing my system up to 36 panels and 36 microinverter and a 9kw
system. Just like we signed up for.
I look forward to your response.
Response From Solar Universe as of 1-21-15:

They explained everything very well and they very clear throughout the process. They handled all the paperwork and regulations for us. They came out to do an assessment to see if the solar panels would work first. The work took about 5 months total to complete.
