"Overall, I understand a business protecting themselves against last minute cancellations with a deposit requirement, but requiring payment in full prior to providing a service seems unreasonable to me. We went with another company.

Pineville Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
returned my call last Thursday evening, 2/20/2014. I asked her if she could help me choose paint colors for my home to start with. She said she had the following Tuesday and Wednesday available. I had an appointment already scheduled for Wednesday, so I told her Tuesday would work for me. She stated that 11:00 AM on Tuesday 2/25/2014 would work for her. Having my appointment calendar in front of me when I spoke to her, I wrote the date and time our appointment was to take place. I repeated it to her again before we concluded our phone conversation. "So that is Tuesday, February 25th at 11:00 AM. She replied, "Right. See you then." It is now 12:30 PM, February 25th. I had to call her to find out what happened because she did not call or show up. She just now sarcastically proclaimed that our appointment was for Wednesday - not Tuesday. She is incorrect. She began screaming into the phone that so many people have given her great reviews so I must be wrong. I carefully plan my appointments and write them down at the time they are made. In my opinion,

Pineville Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
is grossly inconsiderate and unprofessional. I have wasted an entire business day because of her scattered brained way of conducting her affairs. Redecorating, refurnishing my home is going to be a big job. I am glad I got to know her better before trusting her with a $250,000

"My husband & I recently purchased our second home in
Pineville Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
. We hired
Pineville Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
after a long phone conversation with
Pineville Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
where I explained that cost was a factor. She assured me that they would keep this in mind & not to worry about the hourly rate because if anything, they underestimate their time. Delta was assigned as my contact in the office. The beginning went fine picking out wallpaper & draperies while I was in town. After I left town, it felt like pulling teeth to get updates of when things would be happening or even to move forward to the next step of the process. I would email Delta asking for info & she wouldn't get back to me unless I contacted her again. I felt like my job wasn't "big enough" for their time. But I tried to ignore those thoughts so the next time I was in town, I made an appointment to look for rugs. Delta wasn't there but
Pineville Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
took us. After spending the time to go through the rugs & making the selections, Delta emailed me the estimate for the rugs a few days later. The prices were outrageous for the rugs.
Pineville Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
was fully aware that cost was a factor yet she never even hinted at the cost level of what she was choosing. When I questioned Delta about it, she said that maybe I should look for the rugs on my own at Pottery Barn then. I never even heard from
Pineville Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
about this issue. I had cc'd her on every email about the cost of the rugs & now wasting their hourly rate going in the wrong direction. It was very unprofessional for the owner (& the person who took us shopping) not to respond. Between the rugs & the lack of attention from Delta, we decided that it was time for us to finish decorating on our own so I emailed Delta &
Pineville Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
for a final bill, taking into account the refund of the unused hours from our original retainer. A week went by & I didn't hear from either
Pineville Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
or Delta. When I emailed again, I got an email from the office staff that an invoice was mailed (no communication… very unprofessional!!). When the invoice arrived in the mail, I was once again appalled! The invoices that I had already received for the drapes, wallpaper & the one table I ordered now had almost $300 in "incidentals" onto what we thought were the final invoices. Also, they had a bill for 17.75 hours of their time… this number is insane. I understand that I was being billed for time to take care of things behind the scene but I was with them for maybe 4 hours so I figured another 8 hours of behind the scene was more accurate. At $125/hour, it makes a difference! Just beware before using MDI… unless you have an open pocketbook to spend, you won't get the service you deserve!!

"When my husband suddenly wanted to paint the entire upstairs of our house, I chose
Pineville Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
to help pick out paint colors after reading all the great reviews on Angie's list. She lived up to them all. She was very prompt to come to the house, she was energetic, fun and has a great eye for color. She listened to me and worked well with what my husband and I were trying to achieve. I hope to have her out to the house again to help with the downstairs!"
"Contract signed on June 11 with a 6 week estimated completion date
Original Estimate for Kitchen and all flooring - $38,120
Original Estimate for Pipe replacement - $4,100
All total --before the owner of
Pineville Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
emailed on September 18 stating that she decided that
Pineville Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
would no longer be working on project-- we paid out $29,050.
Pineville Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
stated in the email that the approximate $13,000 left in our budget would be more than enough to hire another contractor to complete the job.
We had three different contractors look at the work performed by
Pineville Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
and their subs and all said the damage to the new floors could not be repaired and replacing the floors would be "no easy undertaking" explaining that since floors run under the new cabinets in the kitchen it would involve ripping out cabinets, granite, and possibly damaging new back splash. The estimate given was in the "range of $22,000 - $35,000. And that quote doesn't include repairing damage done to guest bath walls when someone punched all the way through the pantry wall into the bath wall.
During the time
Pineville Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
was working on the project--
The poly pipe replacement was a disaster and 2-3 different plumbers/teams were called in to assess the job done by the original sub-contracted plumber. Two different teams of plumbers took part in "fixing" the original job. Also on the plumbing front when the toilet was pulled out of the guest bath to install new floors it was not set back in properly and we had a stench for about a week coming from that room until I called in my own plumber to fix the seal. While
Pineville Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
paid my plumber, it was not without complaining about how much he charged. I asked that from that point going forward my plumber do all the plumbing necessary.
Pineville Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
did issue a nominal plumbing credit at that point.
Things were picked out piece meal all through the kitchen
Pineville Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
. In retrospect it seems the
Pineville Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
owner and myself had different visions. I almost wonder if her approach was sort of "cookie cutter". There was no "storyboard" for the project and
this is the way the owner insisted she handled all installations. She presented two or three samples of flooring, granite, and paint early on. Later I was asked to select cabinet color and no sample color was presented and I wasn't given a choice of cabinets, just told they would be custom made. The color of the cabinets was to be 50% lighter than some paint chip she showed me and although while indeed 50% lighter than said paint chip, the color of the cabinets did not turn out the color that I envisioned. She insisted upon my having a corner cabinet and I did not want one. She asked that I "let [her]
Pineville Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
this one". It takes up too much counter space and in my kitchen counter space is at a premium. After the floors, paint, granite, selections were made and could not be changed, she took me to a warehouse full of back splash many so I was overwhelmed. I honestly would have made different choices up front had I seen all things together on a story board. The owner of
Pineville Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
spent much time trying to convince me to not have microwave over cook top and then when it was apparent that there really was no other place for to be installed she sent more time trying to devise a system to put it behind doors above the cook top. The owner's plan to hide the microwave behind doors did not technically work and I had to go back and select a different microwave. I asked for a custom made farmhouse style table to be built that would serve as my island. While the island did turn out o.k. and it really close to what I had in mind --design-wise--, I was never presented a rendering of it. The island just appeared at my home one day (unfinished) and the cabinet maker and the owner were in a disagreement about it's design. I insisted that I get to see samples of the stain before going forward and I selected one. The design and color turned out nicely, but the distressing was a little over board (deep deep indentations and on place almost in a geometrical pattern) Come to think of it after the original cabinet design had to be significantly changed I was never presented with the rendering of the new layout for the cabinets either.
The installation of the floors turned out similar to the original replacement of the pipes...a disaster; however, instead of fixing the floors the owner of
Pineville Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
decided to walk away from the job.
The major problems remaining with the work
Pineville Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
did include:
inactive poly pipe still in home
refrig stuck in its cavity
puck light broken during installation and just glued back into place has fallen off and is hanging down
trash drawer will not stay closed; it was installed improperly according to manufacturer and contract currently working next door
the floors are improperly installed, uneven, gouged and scratched, trim left uninstalled
the guest bath walls were left unfinished (after someone accidentally poked through one)
the pedestal sink is not anchored to the wall
I'm working through the problems one by one...have covered as much of the botched flooring as I can with area rugs...the weight of trying to get others to deal with the poor quality craftsmanship of all the little things is heavy/stressful.
I will try to figure out how to post pictures to accompany the write-up.

"We were very pleased with the service provided. With our kitchen down to plaster and plywood, completely devoid of cabinets and appliances,
Pineville Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
was able to help us pick floor tile and and countertops and possible backsplash options, as well as wall colors. She provided much needed direction and gave me much more confidence about our choices; I have NO decorating sense and the idea of spending so much money on a total kitchen renovation without professional consultation was appalling. We now have better ideas and directions and are confident our kitchen will look not just updated but be much more stylish, without being too extreme.
"The consultation was helpful but the price was more than I was willing to pay at that time. She had many options for different designers and color swatches for the designer I picked (H*****). She seemed very knowledgable. Overall she was good. I felt she was a little aggressive with trying to sell the design and I don't think we clicked with respect to the design I wanted to achieve but if I had more money and wanted custom pieces then I would definitely consider her again. I mostly just wanted to order specific pieces and I found better prices on the pieces I liked from a wholesale vendor.
She came to the house. She was on time. When she didn't answer she did return my calls when we were trying to schedule a time.
"I should first start by saying that I've never used an Interior Designer and obviously should have done my homework as to what a consultation would include.
Pineville Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
sent me a questionnaire that I filled out in detail and thought it great that he really seemed to want to know my ideas/personality. As it was, he didn't mention my answers to the questionnaire at all. Maybe they don't come in to play until after his design services are utilized(?). After about 2 hours consult (which cost $262.50), he told me that he could send some drawings that would cost approximately $300-$350. After considering the costs involved with the entire project as well as other expenses we will be incurring (window replacement), I phoned
Pineville Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
to inform him that, unfortunately, the additional costs involved with his company would not fit into my budget. Also, if he had read my questionnaire, I indicated that I was only interested in a consultation at this time. He seemed very offended that I declined his design services, and went on to lecture me about the importance of hiring a designer before contacting a contractor to perform the actual work. When I asked him if he could at least recommend some contractors, he reluctantly told me that he would give my name and number to someone who might be able to assist. He never gave me any names or phone numbers to contact myself. I'm not sure why he took offense to this when I clearly stated that it was only due to budget reasons.
Pineville Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
seems to be an extremely talented designer, and if money were no object, I would most likely have utilized his services. Perhaps I bruised an artistic ego? In the end, I found a building contractor through a reference from a coworker and am extremely pleased! He came to my house and seemed to know exactly what I was looking for, and sent sketches with pricing and even gave recommendations that I hadn't thought of initially. My your homework, ask questions before hiring anyone and use personal recommendations whenever possible!
"My husband and I had moved into a home with a much larger family than we had previously owned, which required some additional furniture and a creative arrangement, and I was having difficulty arranging the living furniture to my satisfaction. We wanted to keep as much furniture as we could as it was in basic good condition except for worn upholstery.
Pineville Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
and I spent several hours together at different times over several weeks. She was happy to accommodate my work schedule. She visited my home, and I also visited her office while choices of fabrics and furniture styles were being completed. She made suggestions, and we spent a couple of months on and off, choosing fabrics for a sofa, chair and ottoman to be re-upholstered and choosing a new sofa to complete a seating group, anchored by a custom made area rug with border to set off the conversation and TV watching area in my large family room. We also discussed furniture arrangement in my living room, and accomplished a very comfortable and satisfying furniture placement. Everything went very well.
Pineville Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
is a joy to work with, communicates easily and is very creative, accepts my ideas and helps me enlarge upon them.
If I have other decorating needs, I will certainly call on
Pineville Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
to provide her expertise. She has so many resources available only to the trade which has enabled me to have a decor that does not appear to be "off the shelf."
