"My garage door on my floating home stuck shut. I had purchased the door some time ago from
(this vendor) and had them do the installation." Their dispatcher told me that I was first on the list and to be on site at 8 AM. At 8:30 I called and ask where the technician was and they said they should have been there as I was first on the list. The dispatcher then told me the tech would call. He called about 10 minutes later and said I was the second not the first on his list and that he would arrive around 9 AM and he did. He was a nice guy and chatty and chatted me up for a while on site. He said the door was shut stuck because the door stop bolts were installed in the wrong position and to short and the door closed past them and hung up. He and his assistant moved them and installed new longer ones in the correct positions. Again,
installed the door in the first place. 2 days later I was notified they charged me $500 for 2 hours work. I called them and told the above story and I said that I believed they were somewhat culpable in that they did the install and it was wrong. They essentially told me "to bad for you as I was past warranty". My position was they did it wrong in the first place so they should cut me some slack and they should have told me in advance that they charged $250 plus and hour. That being the case I would approach them with caution. This is a cautionary tale.

"
did a great job and I would highly recommend him. I contacted him on the day of the job and he called back within 2 hours. He showed up at" the exact time we agreed upon and worked for about an hour on a complicated repair of an interior security door that was custom made about 30-40 years ago and no longer closed. He then had another appointment, but quickly returned and then spent the rest of the afternoon finishing the job. By the time
was done, the door worked better than when my wife and I had first bought the house! He cleaned up afterwards and was very professional during the time he worked. Perfect.

?

Hello - I hope my answer will help point you in the right direction.

The reason you're having a hard time getting clear information is because there are hundreds of companies saying their window is the best. There are probably millions of different features you can choose to have for your windows and in price ranges from $169-$1200 (per double-hung window).

I've been in the business for 15 years and have seen many different window products from many different dealers and manufacturers. This all comes down to: "what's important for you and your home?" If you want a strong warranty from a company who has a full-time service department to give you piece of mind and service your windows should needs be, or are you looking at only those companies who offer true wood interior windows that you can paint or stain to match the home decor? Whatever is your hot-button, then that's where you want to start.

I would recommend you first choose how you want your new windows to look. Wood-interior with vinyl clad is only offered by certain companies, while there is a vinyl woodgrain finish to give you similar results without the maintenance. If you're only looking for a white interior and don't want the maintenance, a fiberglass or vinyl window would be the best choice from what is offered in the market today (vinyl will be less expensive - not necessarily cheaper quality). If you are going to change out a window to a french door and a door to a window, then you WILL NEED to find a contractor with some carpentry experience. Some companies will tell you upfront that they do not handle those sorts of remodeling projects due to the complexity and time it would take to get it complete.

Unfortunately, we won't be able to personally help you with your project as we work in the New England Area. However, if you wish to talk further, please feel free to email me at: sven@ritewindow.com and I'll be happy to let you know our prices for what we offer so you can compare and hopefully find a similar company to do the work for you near the Austin area.

Cheers!

Get your roofer back out there.  Course of shingles above the window need to be pulled, self sealing flashing, drip caps, and counter and step flashing are going to be required here.

This is a flashing issue as the window connects to the mansard roof surface.

Condensation and a leak are two different and very noticeably different (i.e. volume) things.

Flashing and roofing on Mansards can be tricky but is sounds very much like a roofing issue.

?

+1

Much easier to scratch and typically not as good a finished quality as compared to glass.

Benefits are the resistance to breakage as mentioned by LCD.  Any glazing shop should be able to re-create that panel.

?

For a broken window (or leaking seal in multi-pane unit), for a standard roughly 2x3 foot window, can run from low of about $75-125 for single pane to more like $200-300 range for triple pane, depending on construction and any special ultraviolet or heat reflective coatings. If a removeable window unit, of course cheaper to remove it and take to replacement glass place then have them come out, measure glass size, order glass unit, then come back to install.

If taking in yourself, commonly they can do single-pane in an hour or two, but count on a week or so typically for sealed double or triple pane unit to come in, so you will have to seal the opening in the interim. That is an advantage of having them come out - they measure and determine type of unit on first visit and can seal with tape and plastic sheeting (if you have not already done that), then come back with new unit and install a week or two down the road - but you are not stuck with an opening in the wall for a long time.

He arrived on time and was very pleasant and respectful. He listened to where I thought it should go and then told me what he thought and he was right! The job was done in a very timely manner and came out perfect! We now have many other projects we want him to work on.

I contacted
Leesville Door Installers Provider Name Locked
to replace solid doors in my office with french doors. I could not find solid 1 pane french doors anywhere in Houston and
Leesville Door Installers Provider Name Locked
referred me to his trusted door manufacturer who made the doors to spec for me - I had to deal with the manufacturer on my own as
Leesville Door Installers Provider Name Locked
only does the installation. The doors were perfect and
Leesville Door Installers Provider Name Locked
and his crew picked up the doors and installed in my home.
They arrived at the time promised, the installer had all the proper tools to put on the hinges and install
Leesville Door Installers Provider Name Locked
. He was very professional, clean and did not leave a mess behind.
I will be calling
Leesville Door Installers Provider Name Locked
back when it comes time to replace my front door.

The experience was a nightmare, but at least we got a decent flooring job out of it. BUT, we had to fight for it.
Leesville Door Installers Provider Name Locked
subcontracts their flooring jobs about to American Carpet South, and this company is terrible! The first installer sent over by ACS was rude and hostile...so much so that after his second day of installing the floors, I had to call
Leesville Door Installers Provider Name Locked
and ACS and ask them to tell him not to come back. Seriously, I did not feel safe with that man in the house. He was gruff and non-communicative at best, and when I actually asked him about something that seemed like a problem (he wasn't undercutting the door frames, which seems pretty basic), he snapped and started slamming his equipment around. Please note I wasn't aggressive with him at all...I just wanted to understand what he was doing and why he was doing it. For the most part, I was in another part of the house while he and his partner were working. Also, we paid a furniture moving fee... the first installers were really h****** our furniture, stacking up in a precarious tower in the foyer, and on the porch. They left our furniture like this for about a month. They even left some of our furniture out on the porch at the end of the day, and we had to drag it in (it was snowing on and off).
ACS finally sent someone else over, who was much better.
Leesville Door Installers Provider Name Locked
and
Leesville Door Installers Provider Name Locked
(the second installers sent over by ACS) great - they noticed problems from the previous installer's work that we hadn't even seen. In the end, they had to rip out everything the first installer had done and start over. I must say that
Leesville Door Installers Provider Name Locked
and ACS both managed this very poorly. While the manager at
Leesville Door Installers Provider Name Locked
(
Leesville Door Installers Provider Name Locked
) was very friendly and sympathetic, it took multiple phone calls each day from me to actually ensured that things happened. For example:
Leesville Door Installers Provider Name Locked
and ACS told us that more wood would have to be specially ordered because the dye lot had run out on the previous order. It came down to me calling multiple times and explaining to multiple people that plenty of wood in the same dye lot was available at another
Leesville Door Installers Provider Name Locked
store in Pittsburgh, and could be sent over. What was quoted to me as being a "one day, maybe two day job" ended up taking over a month. During this time, the main floor of our house was pretty much unusable. It would have taken much longer if I had not made it a full-time job for myself (in addition to my real job) to chase
Leesville Door Installers Provider Name Locked
and ACS.
The final verdict? I would NEVER, EVER hire ACS for anything again, EVER. I still shop at
Leesville Door Installers Provider Name Locked
, but I would not use them for an installation again. I would hire
Leesville Door Installers Provider Name Locked
and
Leesville Door Installers Provider Name Locked
again - they did excellent work (these were the second floor installers sent by ACS), but not if it meant going through ACS.
Leesville Door Installers Provider Name Locked
and the other
Leesville Door Installers Provider Name Locked
folks were friendly and sympathetic, and never got impatient with my multiple phone calls, to their credit. But, I shouldn't have had to make the multiple phone calls in the first place. Also, to their credit,
Leesville Door Installers Provider Name Locked
at HD reduced my overall bill to take out the furniture-moving fee, and also get a reduction on the overall installation fee because of the delays and problems.

First they evaluated the doors and gates needed, and installation challenges. Then about 7 weeks later they returned and installed a screen door, a new vinyl window, a window gate designed to accommodate an air-conditioner and a security door. It went well, they dealt with the idiosycracies of my house, the gentleman who came and measured and gave me the bid and the two young men who did the installation were all professional, helpful and nice.
My only dissatisfaction is that the security door, which comes with glass (for winter) and screen (for summer), only came with a single (1/2) screen! For a thousand dollar plus door! I was a little surprised, as every security door I've ever had always had a top and bottom screen. Somehow I did not understand this. But I will go to Home Depot and make my own half screen. So just make sure you know exactly what you are getting for the price. But, again, the installation guys did a good job and left my home in good shape.

I saw these doors at a Home Show about 2 years before we got them. I loved them initially, and my wife was not convinced. We have been in our home 15+ years and I hated the front door, and never used it unless company was coming over.
Leesville Door Installers Provider Name Locked
Fence came over, measures and built our doors. When it was time for installation, they sent a very professional crew over, and when they tore out the existing door found some termite damage and replaced the entire door frame.
We have been living with these doors for several years and I regularly use the front door and my next door neighbors used them too. These doors are secure and really dress up your home. My wife now loves the doors and wishes we would have installed them sooner.
These folks are first class.

I called SDRR this morning and they had a crew in my area so they worked me into the schedule.

and his partner arrived in less than 2 hours and went right to work. Approximately 30 minutes later my sticky hard to open patio doors were gliding with a push of the finger. Excellent work. Thanks for the professional job!!

The work that
Leesville Door Installers Provider Name Locked
and his team did was top notch. The team delivered the materials the day before the work started and they were always extra careful not to scratch my new fence when delivering the heavy new bulkhead. Removing the old bulkhead was quite a job . The old metal was cut up into small pieces so it could be removed carefully. All the old materials were removed from the property.
Leesville Door Installers Provider Name Locked
is a perfectionist in his work making sure everything fix correctly , he did the type of work I would do myself, if I had the skill., it was if he was working on his house, everything had to be just right.
I went to the lumber yard to get a section of new siding and "J" channel and
Leesville Door Installers Provider Name Locked
must have spent a least an hour fitting the small sections of siding to the new bulkhead.
I did get two quotes on the job, both within a few $'s, but
Leesville Door Installers Provider Name Locked
was the most understanding of my concerns and met all my expection.
I highly recommend
Leesville Door Installers Provider Name Locked
"
Leesville Door Installers Provider Name Locked

was very punctual and thorough with the estimate meeting, the contract meeting and installing the doors. Him and his crew were at the house at the time scheduled and worked seven hours installing doors. Our home looks newer and updated. I love our hall closet doors, no longer an eye sore in our main hallway. When picking up the doors,
Leesville Door Installers Provider Name Locked
saw knobs he thought would look good on our hall closet doors and installed those as well so we no longer have to handle the closet doors and keep dirt away.
The cat openings cut out on our interior doors look great and my cats love them while I like not having to use gates now.
We will have two bedroom closets done next spring and possibly three window sets, would hire
Leesville Door Installers Provider Name Locked
and his crew again.
