This work was done as an Angie's deal, $200 for 4 hours of work (I think that was it).
We did have a bit of trouble scheduling the work, but part of the problem was that I was unusually busy when we were trying to schedule.
I had an area on the front of the house where the clapboard had collapsed from dry rot. I sent
a picture prior to the day of the work. However, the problem was much more extensive than the photo indicated; the dry rot had affected not only the siding but (if I have the term correct) the wooden sill that supported the support beams for the front wall of the house. There were also some additional small areas of rot on the decorative vertical wood elements.
took this in stride, and I went to Lowe's to get the lumber necessary to replace the sill. Maybe I should mention here that
was very cost-conscious, and examined what wood there was stored in the garage, looking for clapboard and other boards that could be used.
Despite the increased work,
and his very polite crew finished all the work on time and, as noted, managed to install a dishwasher given to me by a family member over the weekend.
I had not done one of these Angie's deals before, and I have to admit to some trepidation as the day of the work approached. Would they not finish and then I would have to hire them for additional money?--i.e., I might be kind of held hostage and ultimately pay quite a bit more for the job.
That didn't happen. I can't imagine getting more bang for the buck than I got from
and his workers.

Wow
is great to work with. He does not know the word won't or can't. He makes it happen. This is especially important on a complete bathroom remodel where there are unexpected problems that come up. I had problems with my plumber.
took care of it.
and his crew demolished old shower, tile floor and tub. Put heated flooring and insulated floor in bath and shower. Tiled bathtub, floor and shower frame. Kept area clean (as possible) and came back to finish last issues.
I was so impressed with his work that I wanted others to know about him, although just word of mouth keeps him busy.

Tried a DIY, but ended up with a mess. Called at 4:00 PM and plumber was out at 6:30 to replace the kitchen faucet assembly. Quick, efficient and worth the extra cost.

communicated progress to me. I felt very comfortable the they were trustworthy to be in our home. Since there are a lot of little details in that kind of project, I did have to remind them about a few things but they were always very responsive. The contractor they used for tile work was probably my only negative. He wasn't receptive to my ideas when we met to plan the shower tile and it seemed like his schedule held up our project a little bit.

did a beautiful job renovating our master bathroom with tremendous skill for an unbeatable price. Angie's List to the rescue, once again!
It would seem that the former owners of our 90+ year old home remodeled the master bath on their own and on the cheap a few years ago. The final product, while aesthetically pleasing, resulted in water damage, mold, cracking tile and a bath lacking in overall function. With new design plans in hand, I sought bids from five Angie's List contractors.
Baton Rouge Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
was the most prompt of the contractors I contacted, and provided the lowest bid by far. Normally I hesitate to go with the lowest bid, however the other Angie's List reviews for the company were so positive I felt comfortable choosing this contractor. I made the right choice.
Mr.
Baton Rouge Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
is the owner and sole employee of
Baton Rouge Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
. He does the work himself. He has decades of experience and is meticulous in his work. He is very good at envisioning the finished product and offers helpful suggestions if he thinks that any aspect of the renovation you are requesting will result in an awkward or insufficient final product. Throughout the course of the renovation he identified existing issues that needed to be addressed, including the replacement of wooden trim around a window in the tub/shower area with a PVC material to prevent water damage and the lack of insulation in exterior walls. He was not pushy about making these changes, recognizing that we were on a budget, but simply provided pricing information for items when requested, and then made the changes easily when we ok'd them.
Mr.
Baton Rouge Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
worked tirelessly on the project, arriving before the scheduled "start time" each day. After he had completed a portion of the work we paid him about 1/3 of the estimate. He actually advised me never to pay more than that to any contractor because there was a

they may not return to finish the job! He is exceptionally honest and takes great care to minimize disruption to your daily life. He communicated well and asked questions throughout the project. He was insistent that we tell him if we were displeased in any way while he was completing the work. Most importantly, the renovation fixed the problems we were trying to address. No more water leaks and the space is now beautiful and functional.
The cost of labor totaled $4,000 and he spent around $850 on materials. He made several returns at the end of the project and dropped off a check for the cost of the returned items. He also furnished receipts for everything purchased. Items such as tile, medicine cabinets, a new shower head and tub spout were purchased by me and not included in the cost of materials. The marble tub surround and cabinetry were also extra because Mr.

referred me to sub-contractors for these aspects of the renovation. I was delighted with his sub-contractor suggestions and pleased with the quality of their work.
Mr.

Overall, a B- or C+ really, but ultimately, I couldn't give a very favorable rating b/c although estimator and phone/email staffer were generally professional, efficient, and helpful, company's policy is that a ridiculous 75% is to be paid before work begins (and a usurious 18% monthly interest, which wouldn't have applied to me but still). Also, 5 days to replace one small shower is too long, and some additional items on estimate (which, overall, was competitively priced) were confusing and not explained.

Everything went well. They are very professional both in planning and installation. Their quality of workmanship is better than any in town, and their prices are reasonable.

A gentleman from CCI came on Thursday August 16 to put together a quote for the kitchen remodel. I really liked him and what he had to say. I was told that I would have a quote the begining of the next week. Over the weekend, we made some changes. I called Monday or Tuesday to tell them about the changes. I emailed a new plan that day. I thought I would get the new quote by the end of the week. Then, we had a hurricane. I sent and email on Wednesday September 5 asking about the quote. I got an email back that evening saying that someone would get back to me soon. It is September 10 and I have not heard from them. I am really disappointed. I put that I would use them again because they may have a perfectly good reason for the delay but they should have let me know and you can not choose "maybe".

I received an email, in response to mine, on September 15. It was an apology for the problem basically saying what they have commented on the site. My issue still stands that if someone from their office had called me and said that they have emergency damage to their own office and through South Louisiana and can we push the quote to November, I would have been fine with that. I understand there were big problems that had to be addressed long before a functioning kitchen needed to be remodeled. A 30 second call would have kept me as a customer but not communicating with me is the problem.
