"Delivery was fine. We purchased a french door refrigerator. The clip that holds the door in place so it pulls out straight is missing. The installer called and" they're replacing it. We're fine with that. However, after installing the dishwasher and disposal I now have a leak in a valve under my sink. The installers were called and returned and we were by the installer that " the valve moved as I pulled out the old disposal and installed the dishwasher". Mind you the old hoses are still in use- he didn't even connect the new dishwasher hose. This morning my husband spoke to
, the "Service Manager" at the store. His response was that our only option was NOT to have the dishwasher installed. Really? We were NEVER told that this could occur from either the store or the installer. Now we have to incur further expenses to call a plumber to replace the valve they damaged. I will NEVER recommend Rice Appliances. If you go to
in Sarasota or any other appliance store they will meet their competitor's price. We paid an installation fee for each of these- so the service wasn't free. If you decide to purchase your dishwasher from Rice don't have them install it. Consumers- BEWARE.

" Everything wnt beautifully but I realized after a couple weeks that distribution had sent out the wrong sized boxsprings. I contacted them and they apologized and" said they would be back in a day or two the correct the problem, I was so pleased that they resolved the problem in such a quick and professional manner. I will recommend them to all my friends and will certainly shop there again when I need anything else.

Small appliance repair

Small appliances play a big role in our daily lives. When shopping for microwave ovens, vacuums, toasters, mixers and more, choose appliances that fit your need and budget. When it comes to repairs, compare the cost of fixing to the cost of replacing the item.

Personal opinion but I will not buy another front load washing machine again.  They simply do not clean clothes as well as the old agitator style washers do.  In the summer when I am hot and sweaty I have to wash shirts at least twice, sometimes up to four times to get the stink out.  Also, while they may save water per load washed, they run a lot longer.  My old washing machine took about 20 minutes to wash a load of clothes.  The front loader takes about an hour.  What it saves on water it more than makes up for in electricity I'm sure running three times as long.  Our front loader has not leaked but it doesn't do the job for my clothes.  Maybe someone sitting in an office all day has fewer problems having to rewash clothes.

As for appliance brand recommendations I have no particular favorites.  They all seem to be disposable these days, often costing as much to repair as to replace.  Samsung has made some good appliances as of late I've heard a lot of good reviews about from customers.  I've got a customer who bought a Kenmore refrigerator when they built the house.  The ice maker has gone out and the replacement part isn't any better since it's a known defect according to the appliance repairman they had look at it.  It was just past the warranty so they didn't pay for another part to be installed that was going to fail again.  Since Kenmore is made by other companies I'm sure they aren't the only one with this problem.  We live in a disposable society.  I look at how well it works, the warranty and cost and weigh the last two of those after kicking out the ones with bad reviews on that model.

Depends a lot on your current configuration. Rough numbers, $4-7,000 for the generator including autostart and automatic load transfer circuit box and master breakers (usually all come on the generator).

Installation (with pad already inplace and gas hookup - about $500-1000.

Electrical about $800 minimum, to maybe $2500. The $800 will get you a simple transfer switch installation but if you want some household circuits to run on the generator but others not, depending on how your current wiring is run, can run to $2000 to pull existing circuits to a new panel.

The problem is that all circuits that are going to be on the generator, unless you are planning to carry the entire household load, have to go to a separate circuit breaker panel which is fed off the automatic transfer switch, so they get power from either the power company or the generator, depending on which is providing power at the moment. That means the circuits running off either source have to be disconnected from your current breaker box, extended (commonly) over to the new box, and hooked up. All other circuits stay on your current breaker box, to run only off the public power when it is on. If the generator is large enough capactiy for your entire house load of course it costs more, but this circuit termination point moving is not needed, so electrical work drops way off to basically a connection box with the transfer switch.

A couple of words of advice - pay attention to weather protection, fire barrier between the unit and the house (including issues of overhead decks that can catch fire), automatic fire shutoff/suppression, and trickle charging from house power to generator battery. Also read CAREFULLY your power comopany rules on generator installation (commonly requires their signoff), any code restrictions on generators and noise in your area, and if your insurance rate will go up. (It definitely does if you have a fuel tank, I don't know if it does with natural gas-fired generators.)

Welcome to the world of Google ! Google this search phrase - dual fuel downdraft convection oven range

You will find a number of brands that make dual-fuel ranges with convection oven - Jenn-air of course, and GE, Bosch, Kitchenaid, Maytag, LG, Samsung, Wolf, Frigidaire, Thermador, Viking all sellin the US. Almost all major brands make this a dual-fuel convection oven range - find model(s) you like, then start checking with local vendors to see who sells them locally - the big home improvement box stores and Sears, Best Buy for starts.

However, the bad news - according to an article I found, only Jenn-Air still makes downdraft stovetops, although I did find one blog notation about a person buying a European Viking with downdraft. Basically the fan capability in downdraft ranges is just not enough to capture the odors and grease and steam coming off a cooktop, so the other brands all dripped it and recommend an over-stove powered vent hood. Most downdraft units had about a 1/10HP fan that pulled about 300 cfm - the same as a modern bathroom fan,, when to actually cause a reverse (downward) airflow over a range requires more like 1000 cfm or more causing a downward airflow of about 10-20 mph - which would make for a little private windstorm around your stove. People also found they did not like the reduced oven size to accomodate the fan unit.

Thermador and Dacor and probably others make behind the range vent units that stick up a foot or two and pull some of the fumes from the rangetop, though reviews say their performance is iffy and basically only affects the rear burners.

My recommendation - go with an overhead vent hood and eliminate the greasy buildup and high humidity in the kitchen that go with downdraft ranges - you will also pay about half a much as for a Jenn-Air downdraft unit.

Appliance Sales reviews in Somerset

The way my basement is set up, the installation required a very long exhaust hose for the dryer because it isn't on an outside wall. They were not equipped for that sort of installation. The representative was very nice and told me I needed to purchase a longer hose. He also told me about getting a refund on the installation because they technically weren't able to install it.

We called this company out to take a look at our GE fridge for our condo in DC. We tried really hard to use companies in DC. We got the appointment though it was frustrating because the window they gave us for when they would come was something like 4 or 5 hours. this was back in
Somerset Discount Appliances Provider Name Locked
2014. So we waited for a few hours and the tech came and spent 5 or so minutes and basically checked the temp and said he didn't hear any noise. He even wrote on the invoice that all he did was adjust the temp and that everything was working fine. I have no idea how it would be possible to determine that everything is working fine after 5 minutes concerning a freezer. So we called back the next week and questioned the company for why we were charged so much when the problem was fixed. We also requested a refund at that point because it seemed like without being able to pinpoint exactly what was wrong, they wouldn't be able to do much. The person on the phone said that we could just call back when we figured out the problem. Unfortunately we have now been told by our tenants that they are having soupy ice cream in the freezer and so we htought ok we finally have something to explain to the company so we called so say ok can you come out again since we think the tenants are telling us enough to figure out how to fix it. But when I called, they said that we would have to pay all over again and that we didn't have a credit on our account and that the warranty was up. I didn't know what they were talking about because they wasn't explained to us back in
Somerset Discount Appliances Provider Name Locked
. We didn't know they have a 3 month policy to come back and apparently even though we asked for a refund, they didn't make a record of that and thus are refusing to give us a refund.
So I could go into more detail but the bottom line is that this company doesn't provide you with all of the info when you call unless you ask them lots of specific questions and sounds like they have policies for a bunch of things which aren't made clear. I will say that the manager I spoke with remained professional but seemed unwilling to be flexible to account for misunderstandings and errors in terms of what customers aren't told/aren't given enough info to make sure they are following the companies policies.

Salesman was very helpful. After I pointed out that I could get the same appliances for less money elsewhere from a competitor, the salesman made an adjustment to satisfy me. Delivery was prompt. I called the following week after delivery for an adjustment to the refrigerator door. I was given an appointment within that week. The men came out promptly and made the adjustment to my satisfaction.

So, here's my sad story, involving a dishwasher from
Somerset Discount Appliances Provider Name Locked
Home Improvement, installers from Mr. Appliance, and a complete lack of customer service from either. I bought a dishwasher and installation package from
Somerset Discount Appliances Provider Name Locked
(the dishwasher, a
Somerset Discount Appliances Provider Name Locked
, was from the Dedham,
Somerset Discount Appliances Provider Name Locked
store). In total, it was about $800. A little steep, considering the dishwasher itself was under $500, but whatever. Anyway,
Somerset Discount Appliances Provider Name Locked
tells me that their sub-contractor, Mr. Appliance, will be delivering the new unit, installing it, and removing the old dishwasher. Which they did. But when I got home, I noticed that during the installation, the Mr. Appliance people had pulled the counter-top out of the wall about half an inch. My wife hadn't noticed because of all the appliances along that
Somerset Discount Appliances Provider Name Locked
of the counter-top. Anyway, we immediately call Mr. Appliance, and their response was, "We didn't do it." Well, yes you did. "No. We didn't do it. It must have already been that way." Oookay, so I paid $800 to set up a sting to falsely accuse a dishwasher installer of creating a problem that might cost $200 to fix? Yeah, that makes sense. In the meantime, the dishwasher itself has started to malfunction, only running one cycle and not any others. Anyway, after Mr. Appliance refused to take any responsibility, we call the store manager at the
Somerset Discount Appliances Provider Name Locked
in Dedham. He was helpful enough, and promised everything would be taken care of. We DID receive a call from a
Somerset Discount Appliances Provider Name Locked
Somerset Discount Appliances Provider Name Locked
(her name seems to change when she's told it's us calling), promising she'd set something up with Mr. Appliance to fix the problem, but not even mentioning the malfunctioning dishwasher. Since that phone conversation (about two weeks ago) we've heard precisely NOTHING from either
Somerset Discount Appliances Provider Name Locked
or Mr. Appliance. we've left multiple messages with
Somerset Discount Appliances Provider Name Locked
(because remember, Mr. Appliance just refuses to even admit they did anything wrong), but haven't heard anything back. We are being jerked around so much, I feel like I'm in a bad p****. Come on
Somerset Discount Appliances Provider Name Locked
, DO SOMETHING. This is unacceptable and an example of the type of "customer service" that gives big box retailers a bad name. I want a new dishwasher to replace the malfunctioning one, I want somebody other than Mr. Appliance to install it (I don't trust them anymore), and I want my counter-tops moved back into position. H***, I'm not asking for new counter-tops or anything; just have somebody put them back into place against the wall. I'll even caulk the darn thing myself. Just PLEASE, do something. Talk to me at least. SOMETHING.

Several weeks went by with no notice of parts receipt. When finally contacted their office on
Somerset Discount Appliances Provider Name Locked
22 and spoke to
Somerset Discount Appliances Provider Name Locked
, he noted they don't repair our brand of dryer (LG) normally and couldn't even find the estimate paperwork. He noted that he would check further and return our call. To date (Feb24), no follow up call has been received. Fortunately, the dryer is still somewhat operational even though having intermittent problems.

Our rating is based on 2 recent experiences: (1)
Somerset Discount Appliances Provider Name Locked
Dishwasher - our old
Somerset Discount Appliances Provider Name Locked
had broken and we were in a hurry for a replacement. We called several places to find the appliance sales price for Bsch was the same with only a few dollars difference in delivery / install fees. The top 2 potential sellers were
Somerset Discount Appliances Provider Name Locked
Somerset Discount Appliances Provider Name Locked
(B&S) and
Somerset Discount Appliances Provider Name Locked
(AC). We chose AC because they promised delivery / installation in 5 days from the order where B&S schedule could only get it to us in about 10 days. We first recd. a call from AC the day before the 1st promised delivery date to say they would need to reschedule to two days later. On the rescheduled day when I stayed home from working to await delivery we got a call just after 9 AM to say once again the dishwasher could not be delivered so would need to reschedule. We called the sales agent to get a firm / assured date complaining that the promised delivery date / per contract of sale was missed and also a second missed. She assured us the next scheduled delivery date to us was confirmed now four days after the second missed day. :/ One day before that third scheduled deivery date we got another call fromAC to say gosh oh
Somerset Discount Appliances Provider Name Locked
the delivery would need to be rescheduled now for the FOURTH time - no apolgy, no we are so srry, just as if that was standard practice at AC we would have to accept! We cancelled the order!!!
The other issue involved a Whirlpool washer / dryer set purchased 08/13/14. That set billed by Whirlpool as top rate was delivered and found to be leaking water from the day installed. The surprising first response from AC was we needed to call the manufacturer! :/ This is the co. (AC) w/ the motto "We know the sale isnt complete until You are completely satisfied." After convincing them to come check out the water leakage, they diagnosed the problem as a faulty washer. After a subsequent visit when the water leakage persisted they ordered a new washer after many emails and much insistance! The new washer came and two days later the same water leakage! After the next visit with 2 more AC folks they realized it was NOT the washer but the dryer! This whole experience took over a month to resolve, many letters / emails and the owner whom we contacted several times by letter sent fedEx and emails NEVER bothered to respond> A good example to us of the real service policies at AC.
The sales agent was the only bright spot and she was extremely helpful. However, we will NEVER buy another appliance from AC and suggest that these 2 recent experiences for us are examples of the REAL service practices at AC.

They delivered, hooked everything up, and installed everything correctly. They also delivered on time. Everyone was very professional, attentive, and knew what they were doing.

We have always been impressed with this
Somerset Discount Appliances Provider Name Locked
. They have give us warranties manufacturers didn't give. They have given great advice to ensure we always have the right product. For example they did a great job of explaining the best carpet for our patio. I had bought a non-

that eventually had some issues. Without hesitation
Somerset Discount Appliances Provider Name Locked
gave back all the money I paid for the grill, which I put toward a better,
