"Our cat was having bloody loose stools. We took him to another cat hospital, but were not happy with the care they provided. Dr.
explained" to us what might cause this condition. She examined our cat, took a stool sample, and took care of his anal glands (no idea what she did there). Then she gave us a medication - an antibiotic. Overall, our experience was very positive.

"About two weeks ago my little Pug/mix (6.5yoa) was demonstrating an issue of frequent urination. It started with squatting too many times to urinate. I took her" to my vet, that I have dealt with for several years and they said she had an infection and gave me some meds. Several days passed with no improvement and now more squatting attempts to urinate. I then checked some of her squat spots and they were dry. I took her back to the vet and stated she was still attempting to urinate continuously and appeared to me, to be having trouble. They said she had a urinary track infection, gave me an antibiotic and out we went. A couple of days passed and still no improvement and she was now attempting to urinate in the house. She is 100% potty trained. Buy attempting to urinate in the house, I could see there was no urine being expelled. On a Sunday 8/23/2015, I went back to vet, but they were closed. Sunday afternoon came and went and she was still struggling to urinate. Sunday evening came, no visible urine and I was beginning to panic. At 2am Monday morning it dawned on me to see if I could find an emergency vet. I found
Veterinarian Hospital was open 24/7. I called, they answered, I grabbed the little dog
and rushed to the hospital. She was surely in great distress. Never having been there, I had to do some paper work, and it did seem to take (for me) a little too long to get the doctor. Yes, I was in a panic. But... The doctor appeared. She took
into the examining room, asked me a few questions, went right out with
and took x-rays and was back in a few minutes. She showed me the x-rays and
had a bladder full of stones and one or some were blocking her urethra and her bladder was full. She told me
would need surgery. I agreed. She gave me a price. I agreed. She told me, go home and she would call me once she was able to release her bladder of the blockage, and the surgery was set to do first thing in the morning. It was around 4am now. I went home and waited for the call. She called me about 90 minutes later saying that she was able to unblock the bladder and release the urine. She said that the operating doctor would call me after the surgery. Around four hours later I got the call and the surgery was a success and everything looked fine, and we could visit
in the evening of Monday. We visited Monday and
looked good considering all that she had been through the past two weeks and the surgery. I took her home Tuesday afternoon and she was still a little groggy but settled in, probably glad to be home. She ate a little food and had a bit to drink, did her business (a couple of times) and settled in for some needed rest. At discharge they explained thoroughly about the medications she had to take, her activity level, and keeping an eye on the sutures for infection and her licking them. All looks very good.
even rolls over to
her belly. She is resting comfortably as I write this review. Though I don't include a great deal of detail on what was done, well, I wasn't there. But, the admitting doctor showed sincere concern for
's condition. As I stated, once in the examining room, it was all business. The results speak for themselves.
is well and much better in only two days. I can only be so glad and grateful that they were there for her care. I was explained everything and I was treated well also. Many things could have gone wrong but they didn't and that also speaks of the doctor(s)' efforts. I am sorry that I didn't think of a 24/7 emergency veterinarian, but it ended well. The doctors and staff at the
Veterinarian Hospital did great work. I am more than satisfied, but again, more grateful they were there!!!! Thanks so much.
said to thank you all also.

How do I choose the right veterinarian for my pet?

Angie's Answers

?

Hi

The first answer is pretty thorough but I would like to add a few points.

First.. the type of food you are feeding your dog may be the key.  If you are using a food that is grain, rice or corn based in the first three ingredients, please change to a food that is meat or chicken based.  Many dogs are allergic to grain, rice, wheat and corn and these things are used as primary ingredients in many well known, name brand dog foods.  Secondly, all treats that have these ingredients should be cut out.  It takes weeks to months before a food change can show results so you must be patient.  Jumping from one food to another will be counter-productive.

Some dogs are so allergic to flea or other insect bites that one or two bites can cause a severe reaction.  Once the itching/scratching cycle begins, it is hard to stop it.  Benadryl is good but I suggest liquid form.  You can get it inexpensively at one of the dollar stores.  The pills take time to break down in the digestive system so you get better and faster results with the liquid. One tsp= 5cc and most dogs of average size can tolerate that much and more if the dog is a larger breed.

Allergy testing is very expensive and most dogs will test positive to some things.  That does not mean that the itching is coming from those things as many things in the environment can trigger positive test results.  Breaking the cycle of itching is primary and that can be done with prednisone ( short term and last resort after benadryl and bathing), allergy shots( same deal, last resort after easier methods).   This spring and summer have been particularly hard, weather-wise.

Good luck!

After you search for the company, you should get the "no results" page. Scroll down just a little bit, and you'll see a button and a link that say "Add this provider." Click on that to add them to the List! Thanks for the great question.
?
I'm really sorry! It looks like we made some site changes I hadn't noticed before and it made things just a little more confusing (for me, too!). We'll have to look into this to make it easier.
In the meantime, here's what you do:
1) Look for the Submit a Report button. It's yellow and on the right-hand side of the page.
2) Search for the animal cancer care clinic you're looking for. The search box should be inside a yellow bar.
3) You should see a list of potential matches, but on top of those, there should be "add a provider to the List" text in blue, which is where you'll click to get to the add page.

Let me know if you have any trouble. Sorry, again, for this being so confusing.

They're the best in the country. They're very knowledgeable. I've always had dog with special problems and they've been good at diagnosing them and taking care of them. They kept my dogs that were really sick alive a long time. They had a good quality of life. I don't think other vets could have done that.

Daisy and I couldn't be more satisfied with the care and attention she is getting at
London Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
. We like that there are a number of vets in the practice with a breadth of of interests and experience. The on-site pharmacy and food store is very reliable and convenient. The pharmacy matches any lower advertised prices. Short of being a teaching hospital (there are none around),
London Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
, more than satisfies our needs

I loved Dr
London Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
, he was knowledgeable, cheerful, energitic, enjoyed my large goofy 6 month old, exam was proficient, dog was calm with all of it, and the information he gave me was helpful. I am concerned about the limited time slots they have for scheduled visits, the walk in policy in the afternoon does not appeal to me, sitting in a car or office for some time with other animals and 70lbs of silly on a leash is not my kind of anything tolerable. Their staff kept sending me vaccine due notices, took several calls to get that corrected and I hope I will see accurate reminders here in December.

My big guy was very vet particular, he either loved them or wanted out asap. I think he "read" their energy. HA! He immediately was comfortable at
London Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
, he would go in the back alone for shots happily with them. We first switched to
London Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
about one year prior to his knee injury for a behavioral evaluation, two previous vets were unhelpful and discouraging. They were gentle and efficient evaluating him, gave me good advice about how to handle the cat/dog issue which allowed both animals to live out their lives with us without further incident. ( we split the house and kept them separated and made sure all potential health issues were reviewed. When he injured his ACL, they recommended conservative treatment, he healed without surgery, meds and excercise limitations only, other leg went too due to stress of carrying the load but he came through that as well. I would still be using
London Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
but have moved south of spokane and the drive north is almost an hour in traffic for us so have switched to Hunters vet.
I thank them for being examples of the type of vet pet owners hope to find and have.

I have had my three dogs over to
London Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
on numerous occasions. The services I used included regular shots as well as a hip operation. My Veterinarian is Dr.
London Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
, and she has always done a great job with examining my dogs, offering proper treatment, and spending as much time with me and my dogs to answer all my questions and provide me with all necessary information. I've moved around a lot and have utilized the services of many vets and I can attest to the fact that the clinic and Dr.
London Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
rank at the top of my list.

It went wonderful. Dr
London Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
is also the Vet that we use. She is the best and most caring Vet that I have ever dealt with. My 3 cats just lover her. Dropped off cats and later that day picked them up. I was holding my baby when I came to pick them up and the staff there helped me by carrying the cats out to my car. Would use them again.

I brought my girl, Jazzmine, to this vet's office from the time she was 6 weeks old until she was about 18 months old. The staff was always terrific and I never was concerned about having to leave her for a procedure (she was spayed here) and they were always accommodating to both her needs and mine. HOWEVER, I asked to see and speak to the vet, Dr
London Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
, multiple times and was never given the opportunity. She had multiple visits due to shots, allergies, ear infections from those allergies, etc. Never once did I ever meet this vet. I started to suspect that he wasn't there and that the techs were doing the bulk of the practice. I was a paralegal prior to retiring, so I know well that many things CAN be done by others in a professional office and don't necessarily require constant oversight. Shots, anal gland expression, etc. are not an issue, but I feel I should be able to talk to the vet when it is actually practicing vet medicine. Further, their prescription meds were generally twice the cost of those I could get online from reputable pet pharmacies. Otherwise, my girl received good care from the techs, I just wanted some interaction with her vet.

Dr.
London Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
(the vet) and her vet tech assistant came to the house. They were very professional, and kind and patient with the cats. They were very good about handling the cats and talking to them to make them less stressed. One of my cats was not feeling well, so In addition to shots and exams, blood was drawn, and an attempt at a urine sample was made. The vet was very good about explaining possible causes for the cat not feeling well, and she discussed alternatives with me. Note that the cost also included the blood test and a prescription that was needed. I thought there prices were very reasonable, and we will be using this vet in the future.
