House Painting Reviews in Florence

Suit of
Remodeling was recommended by a major home building supply company in the
, KY area where I ordered some French doors to replace the narrow (28")sliding glass doors that came with the house. After getting quotes to remove the sliding glass doors, installing the new French doors, paint/stain the trim, etc., and speaking with
when he came out to measure, I was very confident
Remodeling was for me.
did not disappoint me, but exceeded my expectations. His associate and
arrived within 2 minutes of the 9 am start time. They worked non-stop, explaining to me as they went through the removal and installation.
took the trim home to use the stain/paint provided by the door's manufacturer. When everything was done, he made sure the area was spotless. The end result was truly a perfect installation. The two doors open inward, the lock I bought and he installed lines up perfectly, and I couldn't be happier. The quoted price was met although we thought it might be higher once the door and frame arrived, but very little was needed in addition to the sent merchandise. The time to complete everything was much faster than initially estimated - by three days! The door was up in one day, and the trim prepared at his office was installed two days later. Their motto is very true: "Quality is Affordable".

NOTE: The day after I posted the review below, I received a truly outstanding and sincere email of apology from the owner of the company, along with an offer to refund us $500 (which we gratefully accepted). He also offered to personally come and discuss any concerns that we may still have. I was very impressed by both the speed and professionalism of his response, and I definitely appreciate his willingness to stand behind his company's work and make things right.
The quality of the work was sub-par, and the way in which we were treated was completely unprofessional, with a few exceptions. In the end, 4 of the 6 services they performed had issues needing to be fixed. Here are specific details:
Gutters: The gutters look really good, and the two men who did the work were very professional. They were a different crew from the men who completed the rest of the services. The only issue is that when measuring, they didn't take into account that one of the downspouts runs through a hole cut into our deck, and the downspout ordered was too large for the hole (which is nicely trimmed and would have been hard to re-do). They re-routed the downspout to another part of the roof as a fix, which was fine, as we wanted the larger downspout and didn’t want to cut into the deck.
Light fixtures: a very
swap-out of two outdoor light fixtures, which we provided. No issues.
Remove and replace old caulking: We have caulking between the wood trim and the bricks on the front of our house. Over time, with the house settling, the caulk had split, leaving some on the brick and some on the wood trim. Instead of removing the old caulking as quoted, they simply put new caulking in the split, leaving the ragged, painted, split caulking with a clear seam of new caulk in the middle. When I asked why they didn't remove the old caulking, the contractor said he thought it would look bad to have that much unpainted new caulk, which made no sense to me as we didn’t contract them to do any painting of trim. They did clean out and re-do the caulk, but I was stunned that I even had to ask. They also used clear caulk around the garage, but white caulk next to the front door. Last but not least…I found chunks of the old caulk in my flower pots on either side of the garage door. I also found pieces of trash (such as a plastic wrapper from a paint roller) and a few cigarette butts around the front of the house.
Painted front door and shutters: The contractor had poured his paint and was getting out his roller to paint the door when my husband asked, "aren't you going to clean the door first"? The contractor replied, "No, I wasn’t going to - do you think I should?", which made us nervous about his experience level. When my husband said "yes, definitely", the contractor cleaned it with a rag & water, no cleaning solution of any kind. I
’t know if he cleaned the shutters or not. He used a roller to paint the door. After the first coat, the contractor said "The texture is pretty rough - I don't know why." The contractor sanded it very lightly with a sponge sander and put a second coat on, which was still rough - plus, you could see the roller
and areas that were lighter than others. He tried one more coat, and the texture was still rough plus the roller
and uneven spots were even worse. We spoke with the supervisor, and he asked us to take pictures so he could see how it turned out. More below on the outcome of this.
Deck staining and replacing a warped board on our
: The deck itself looks fine. The contractor did have to come back and clean up some missed spots and large drip
, but that was easily done. The big concern we had was the fact that the house wasn't tarped off…the only protection was painter’s tape around the edges, leaving a substantial amount of dark brown overspray and sloppy brush
on our off-white siding, white sliding glass door frame, and the light tan painted wood trim of our house. Since the previous deck stain was transparent redwood, and the new deck stain was solid dark brown…it was obvious the issue was caused by the new stain. When we called to talk to the supervisor, he also asked us to take pictures for him to look at before he came out to the house. Again, more below on this. On the board replacement, one of the end cuts was extremely ragged – we had to ask for it to be sanded and re-stained.
Overall service: During the process, when we were having issues with the front door painting and caulking, I called to express my concerns to the supervisor. The next day, when the contractor showed up, his attitude was markedly different – he was friendly the day before, but visibly upset the second day. He said that he had been “reamed out by his boss” that morning because “apparently, I made you guys upset”…which was really uncomfortable for us. When we saw that the door was still not going well, and had some concerns about how the rest of the work was going to turn out (such as the deck), we called the supervisor again. His response was that things go wrong on every job, I should tell the contractor myself if there was anything else I was unhappy with…and if I was uncomfortable, then call him back and he would get involved.
So, at the end of the entire job…when we called to talk to the supervisor about the door still not being right after 3 coats of paint and the overspray on the deck, he asked us to send him pictures so he could see, which we did. After two days, we hadn’t heard back from him, so I sent an email asking him to confirm he’d received the pictures. He called and left a message saying they were very busy, and if it was an emergency like the deck falling down he would have gotten back to me sooner. I called him back, and he was unbelievably rude. He said that he was going to have to come look at the issues himself to see how bad they really were, because “anyone can find problems if they look under a microscope”, and continued to imply that we were making a mountain out of a molehill. He said that everyone gets overspray when they spray their deck, and then actually recommended painting over the siding to hide the overspray (which of course we did not agree with). When I asked if he could send someone different than the contractor who had created the issues to begin with, he said that he refused to be “forced” into anything.
When he did come out to look, he admitted to my husband that the overspray was really bad. He said the door was as good as most door painting jobs he had seen, and that roller
and rough texture were better than having brush
, but he guessed they could try brushing it and we could see if we liked brush
In the end, they did send someone different to fix the overspray issue and front door. It took him half a day of scrubbing the siding to get all the overspray off. When I came outside to look, I mentioned he’d missed the entire sliding glass door, and he said he thought it was just dirt (even though it was the same color as the stained deck and clearly delineated by where the painter’s tape had been). He did clean it, but he said there was nothing he could do about the wood trim – so he just left it. When I asked about fixing the paint on the front door, he said it wasn’t the worst job he’d seen, but not the best either, and that there was about a 50/50
he could do it any better. This didn’t exactly inspire our confidence, and we decided enough was enough and just paid them. Given the rudeness with which the supervisor had treated me, I anticipated things getting ugly if we asked them to reduce the price for the unfixed issues, and I just wanted the entire thing behind us so we could move on. We are now paying another company to re-do the door, and paint/fix the wood trim that has the deck overspray on it.
Quite frankly, Revolution was not the least expensive quote we got. I was expecting premium quality and service for the premium price, but I got neither. The treatment I received from the supervisor was appalling, and the work was not professionally done. We’re planning on doing a lot of remodeling this year, indoors and out. Had the job gone well, Revolution would have gotten all of this work…but I will certainly never use them again, and I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone.

House Painting reviews in Florence

worked mostly by himself but sometimes with an assistant and he was always there early and always put in a full day's hard work. Our house is on a fall-away lot and more than half of the work for him was on a tall extension ladder or a combination of ladders and scaffolding. The way he worked it out how to get to the almost inaccessible parts of our trim was really impressive.

painted everything perfectly and neatly and our house looks better than it did when it was new! He always cleaned up his supplies as he was going along and left everything neatly put away (hoses, paint, ladders) before he left in the evening. He took only one day off in the 10 days that it took to paint our complicated house, mostly because it was forecast to rain that day - he even worked through a holiday weekend because he wanted to get as much done as possible before it rained.

was really easy to work with, punctual, respectful and good with our dogs. I would recommend him to anyone and everyone!

This contractor never bothered to return my phone call, so I do not know whether they are a good contractor or not. Left a message for them to call during a week that I was on vacation. We do have an answering machine as well.

Very informative! Even though we did not have the right kind of job, he took the time to help me understand what I needed and where to go for the right service provider.

Workers are dropped off at house in morning and not picked up until evening. Work is very well done, but you need to make sure the day workers are told what it is you are having done as it is not always completely told to them.

was fantastic. We needed a quote to paint/repair exterior trim on our current home as well as a general quote to paint the interior of a home we are looking to purchase.

was out the next morning to provide the exterior quote. The estimate was in our inbox within an hour. Their price, focus to detail and quality is great. We also needed a general quote for interior painting.

They were very professional. They provided a quick and thorough estimate which detailed exactly what they would do and the price was fair. The workers actually showed up on time as scheduled and their work was top notch. Overall a great experience and I would highly recommend them. You get great quality for a fair and reasonable price.

I had purchased their service to powerwash my whole house, primarily the brick on my home. However, upon arrival they said they do not wash brick just siding, which is only a small portion of my home. So, the whole reason I wanted the service was unfulfilled. Waste of money.
