"On the day of the move, three gentlemen arrived on time with a truck and all the supplies needed to move our many boxes and furniture from the 3rd and 4th floor of a townhome condo" without the aid of elevators. The men were professional and took great care to protect our property. The job was finished a little quicker which saved us a little money. if we were to move again we would definitely use the company. The guys that helped up made the move quite enjoyable. We would also not hesitate to recommend them to others

"The movers were prompt, friendly, and respectful of both homes. They took great care to make sure there was no damage to the piano or any walls. They provided a recommendation for" a local piano tuner, installed new bumpers, and pads to protect to the wood floor where the piano sits. All at a reasonable price.

said he would pick up the piano between 9-11am, and then deliver it to my house. At 9:50 he called me to say he was 5 minutes away from my house, with the piano. It turned out that the person who was supposed to be at my house to accept it was not there.

waited patiently at my house for about 20 minutes, while I made multiple phone calls. He told mehad very little time, since he had another piano move scheduled, and needed the equipment currently tied up with my piano for the next move. Through it all he was polite and professional. I managed to find someone who could open my house and accept the piano, and the rest took about 35 minutes. I highly recommend

Movers- they are punctual, professional, and the lowest price of the several that I spoke with.

I called to get an estimate on a Friday. The estimate was very reasonable, so I schedule the move for the following day.

,who was the only person I spoke to, told me she would call me around 8am on the day of delivery to give me a delivery window. At 8:10am I get her phone call and we agree on a delivery window. The Piano arrived about 20 minutes after the window started. We then figured out the best way to get it into my family room. Within 5 minutes the Piano was in its place. The two movers were prompt, courteous and professional. I would definitely use them again.

We are musicians, so it is very important to us that our piano be treated better than just a piece of expensive furniture. They were fast and did a great job. Very careful with our piano and came highly recommended by our other musician friends. We used them last time we moved as well, maybe 11 years ago. They are still the same people and the experience shows.

Initially, I met with the person who estimates the job. He came to the house and we did a walk through. He noticed things that my other two bids didn't, like glass shelves in the china cabinet that would require special attention. We also needed to move an upright piano and a motorcycle. He decided that it would take 2 vans and 6 men to do the job.
The crew showed up on time and got to work. Corregated board was put down on the floors and carpets to prevent damage, and the doorways were similarly protected. We had packed most of our things ourselves, but they carefully packed pictures on the walls and put all our clothes in wardrobe boxes. They probably worked 3 hours straight before I even noticed anyone taking a break. Once the trucks were loaded (mid-afternoon), we headed to the new house. We had some heavy furniture that they had to get up or down narrow stairwells, and they managed to get everything in the desired place.
The crew was very polite, asking me questions rather than assuming. We brought in lunch for them (Taco Bell carryout, no big deal), and everyone of the guys must have thanked us at least twice, saying it was the best lunch. (Our reasoning was we lived far enough out that they would have taken much longer for lunch if they'd left to go find a meal than if they sat down and ate on our deck)
I hope to never move again, but if I did, I would use this company again.

Went great, They were on time, very friendly and much faster than I had thought. Was very pleased, they worked hard and fast, took good care of all my stuff, price was actually cheaper than I had thought since they didn't take as long as I had thought they would. Very pleased

All in all, a good move and met expectations. I would use them again.
The positives: scheduling and care with furniture.
The cons: price, attention to detail.
Scheduling
Topeka Piano Movers Provider Name Locked
was quite flexible in scheduling the move. They were eager and diligent in following up. I was concerned about their current labor issues and they assured me that their current movers are employees and not day-laborers. I wanted to check references on Angie's list so we booked tentatively and then confirmed the same day (weekday, not end of month). They also accommodated my request to schedule the move earlier in the day to minimize traffic when traveling from the suburbs into the city with the furniture.
Care with furniture
I was concerned that the men would have piano experience as the piano has been in my family for 60 years and is quite sentimental. I think the lead,

was quite competent in moving the piano, removing the top and music rack, wrapping it well, and securing it to the side of the truck. Fortunately it easily fit into the elevator so that was not an issue. I was a little nervous that although they scheduled a 4-man crew because it was a piano, but only 2 men were present when they tipped it off the dolly at delivery. I asked him about that and he said it was small enough that they could handle it. They did but I would have preferred a few more hands.
Price
The price was competitive so it's not exactly a con. I was at both the pick-up and drop-off and got to the 2nd location 30 minutes before they did, even though they left earlier than I did. I know they can't go on Lake Shore Drive with a truck so decided that was likely the case but it was still curious to me. They do seem to use a lot of tape and then (of course) charge per the roll but I didn't want to impede anything that might be important for the care of the piano.
Attention to detail.
At the pick-up they ignored the posted sign to remove shoes or put on booties. Fortunately their shoes were not too dirty but it still would have been appreciated for them to put on booties. At the drop-off they initially left 1 of the chair cushions and the footstool in the front room, even though the chair had been placed in the back. I had to ask them to move those items back...although I could have done it, there were 2 men standing around so it seemed that one could easily do it. Also, they placed the pedestal but forgot to unwrap it from the blanket / tape so I had to ask them to do this as well so that I could inspect it.

I got a great, no-nonsense quote. I was asked to provide very specific details (height of piano, exact number of steps involved) and the amount quoted was the amount that was collected upon delivery.
The piano was located on the second floor of a split-level home with steps inside and out. The movers were able to remove the piano with no damage to the home or the instrument. The delivery was a bit easier: directly inside the front door of a home with no steps.
The movers were exceedingly polite, fast, and the piano arrived on time. I couldn't ask for better service.
