How did it go? The only words are disaster, terrible and almost horrible.
I hired this company to insulate my house. After several false calls they finally got to my house and started the work. But because their employees (their employees, not another company's I was told) were careless they caused an explosion and fire in my house. They were using a spray chemical that was to seal the vapor
needed to prevent mold. But the workers did not follow the safety protocols established for the chemical. One of the protocols was to turn off all open flames including the hot water heater. Because they didn't what happened was that as the fumes
in the crawl space the fumes then moved out to a larger space where the hot water heater was located. The hot water heater kicked in (it's electronic ignition), lit the fumes in the room and that
a flame back to where the fumes were concentrated. Flame + concentrated highly flammable fumes = explosion.
The result is that my house is now uninhabitable and will continue to be so until its structure (the structure was damaged) is repaired. I will most likely be unable to move back to my house until some time in 2015.
Was anyone harmed? I am left unable to live in my house, was unable to live with my dog for over a month, and if my house was not as well built as it is (the old houses were built to last) it is possible that what was a disaster for the house could have been a horrible tragedy for the people and dog in the house. In addition one of the workers was, from what I was told by a workman's comp insurance investigator, out of work for at least two weeks due to burns. The workers were so careless that they put themselves in
.
Thank God the house absorbed the majority of the energy of the explosion. Otherwise far more harm would have happened to everyone in the house, including myself and my dog.
I could write a book about how much aggravation this has caused.
Because this has turned into an insurance nightmare I can't add a lot more here. I can however say that
has done nothing to help me out. I have had to cobble together a string of places to live. I had to leave my dog with neighbors for over a month. Oh, can a dog develop PTSD? If my dog's suddenly shaking for no apparent reason, or need to rush past my house is an indication, then yes dogs can develop PTSD. Worse I have to pay on the loan taken out to install the mini-split system which can not be used until the house is repaired.
I did find a garbled and muffled voice mail from someone who said he was the owner and founder of
left on the Monday following the event. Because I had to take off that week to deal with the initial inspections and reviews by many people I did not here that message until a week later. Where was he on the day this happened? The message was so garbled I could not understand what he was saying.
I spent the week in a state of shock, even experiencing that sense of feeling the incident must have happened to someone else. Due to this disaster I also wasted a over a week's worth of vacation time.
Considering how challenging getting money from the insurance company is I will probably loose money as well.
The insurance company is also trying to minimize the disaster claiming there was only a fire when obviously and clearly there was an explosion. They are trying to argue that the 1.5 inch gap between the floor and wall in a room were pre-existing conditions. They have no evidence of that. They just want to make this statement to avoid paying more money. They are bending over backwards avoiding using the word explosion. What is incomprehensible is why. They will subrogate the claim against
's insurance company. Makes me wonder if the two insurance companies are working together so as to minimize what should be paid out.
This situation causes me to be angry, frustrated, aggravated and disgusted by the whole situation on a daily basis.
If anyone can learn anything about this disaster it is that SAFETY MUST ALWAYS be the NUMBER ONE priority.
Do not use this company. There are plenty of other companies doing the same work and for only the cost of cash, not turning your life upside down.

Mr.
punctually arrived at the time agreed upon. I understood this was to have been for "Weatherization" of 2 exterior doors plus a complete attic energy efficiency audit. The price for this was shown to be $79.00. However, the weatherization, as explained by Mr.
, required the installation of special molding that is needed to hold the noted "weatherization" material in place. The cost for the 'special molding' amounted to $125.00 additional for each door. As a consequence, I declined the entire job, doors AND attic energy audit. I think Angie's should have explained that instead of a contract for $79.00, the cost would in fact be $329.00. I think Angie's should refund my $79.00. I declined the installation. I am disappointed to have been misled.

We purchased an Angie's List Big Deal to have solar window film on two west facing trapezoid shaped windows located above a pantry. Although
Mission Energy Consultants Provider Name Locked
states this deal cannot be used if a ladder is required, after reviewing the project, they agreed to put solar film on these windows. When the technician,
Mission Energy Consultants Provider Name Locked
arrived, he removed the boards which had been covering these windows and had been installed by the previous owner. We had never removed these boards knowing these were west facing windows and knew there would be a problem. Much to our surprise,
Mission Energy Consultants Provider Name Locked
discovered that these windows already had an existing film! He was very honest and said that replacing the existing film would be of no benefit.
Mission Energy Consultants Provider Name Locked
did offer an option. We have two large windows, one in the kitchen and one in the dining room which are also west facing windows. We do notice heat and glare from these windows, so since we had already purchased the Angie's List Big Deal, it was a great option to have
Mission Energy Consultants Provider Name Locked
install solar window film on these windows. The two windows where the solar film was installed would require more than the 30 square feet purchased.
Mission Energy Consultants Provider Name Locked
provided a quote of $40.00 additional to install the solar film on both of these windows which we felt was a very reasonable amount.
Mission Energy Consultants Provider Name Locked
installed the solar film on the windows in the kitchen and dining room and we look forward to having less heat and glare coming through these windows. Additionally
Mission Energy Consultants Provider Name Locked
did provide a quote for solar screens for the trapezoid windows in case we decided this would be necessary. This is a very professional company who obviously provide great customer service..

Two workers showed up on time, displaying their ID badges. They entered the home and covered their shoes in order not to track dirt into my house. They described what they were going to do during the audit. I was allowed to watch whatever they did, ask questions, and follow them around if I wanted to. They performed a blower test and proceeded to fill all gaps and cracks around windows, in the attic, and in the basement with either caulk or foam insulating materials. They changed out incandescent light bulbs for energy efficient ones, and changed out water aerators as needed with water saving aerators. They came up with recommendations for increasing energy efficiency, and also showed me rebates available if I chose to act on their recommendations. This company does not do the actual improvements (such as insulating), so there's no conflict of interest with their recommendations. The audit took about 4 1/2 hours to complete. It was very extensive and the results were very informative. I would recommend this company to anyone looking to improve the energy efficiency of their home. The cost was $99, and I think it was worth every penny.

They were extremely professional and showed up at the exact time of my appointment.
Mission Energy Consultants Provider Name Locked
walked around my house, went in my attic, and inspected the inside of my house to find possible energy efficiency improvements. While he was doing this his contractor did the weatherstripping on my back door. The door has electronic locks and has to be aligned perfectly for them to work and they made sure it was right. I was impressed by this because I've had other contractors not pay attention to the details.
It should be noted that the Angie's List Deal is strictly paying for the weatherstripping. You can get an Energy Audit for free, so if you don't need your doors fixed then just call the company directly.
The solutions that we came up with for my house are adding a raddiant
Mission Energy Consultants Provider Name Locked
in the attic, fixing the insulation around my soffits, and adding a solar attic fan. I have all new insulation in my walls and new double pane windows so there was no room for improvement there. I'm currently running the numbers to determine if the work is cost effective, but if I do end up doing the work I will definitely go with
Mission Energy Consultants Provider Name Locked

came out and looked at the damage, gave me a very good quote. He was super nice and professional. I only didnt use them because of a time issue and ordering the replacement parts. I also had him look at some windows and he offered me a number for someone he uses for glass rather than trying to sell me all new windows for my house which I appreciated.
I will use them again if I have the opportunity.

It went well - and is still going. Before we can do anything in the basement, we have to get it waterproofed. That should be soon. Before we can do anything in the attic, it has to be cool enough for us to get ride of a lot of stuff. That will happen this fall. We have a slow moving project but we are working through it and
Mission Energy Consultants Provider Name Locked
is available to consult with as we move along.

I was very pleased with this company. I am performing a remodel on my 1945 colonial-style house. After my energy audit, I was guided through the process to apply for the NYSERDA grant to offset the cost of the services. Every employee and contractor I came in contact with was professional, polite, and meticulous in their work, and were willing to answer any questions I had throughout the project. This year's energy bills will be much lower, I'm sure, thanks to
Mission Energy Consultants Provider Name Locked
! I would recommend them highly.

Financing paperwork was lost until I contacted our service representative and then paperwork had to be re-signed. We likely would not have had to pay at all if I had not contacted the company to find out why we had not received anything from the financing company. There are now multiple credit inquiries on my credit report due to the botched paperwork. References and reviews were provided as agreed upon in the contract in order to receive partial reimbursement but references were not contacted in a timely manner and reimbursement still has not been received despite multiple attempts to contact the company. I am unable to find a working phone number for the company and our service representative, Christian, no longer works for the company. Despite not working for the company he has returned my messages and attempted to resolve the situation by providing names of employees that should be able to resolve the issue. However the contacts he has provided me have failed to return phone calls and e-mails to follow up on our reimbursement.

was prompt and curteous. He performed a full audit. We received a full report afterwards that listed all of the areas of the home that could be more efficient. We were happy to learn that our insullation was better than we thought.
