came within hours of the time I called. I had no hot water. He took the water heater apart and found it was leaking inside and beyond" repair. No surprise because it was an old water heater. Even I knew when I saw the inside insulation soaked it was beyond repair. Although he couldn't fix it, he gave me much advice and answered my many questions about what to replace it with. He also made sure I knew which breaker he'd turned off as it was different from my inside breaker box. I was very grateful for all the advice and pleasantly surprised at the cost.

"Quickly isolated the problem to one of two potential issues. Took the machine apart, cleaned the appropriate screens and parts. Found a clogged hose - cleaned" it out. Found a leaking water line and replaced it. Tested the fixes. Put everything back together. Tested everything again. Great guy - very knowledgeable, friendly, and professional.

If the ducts are venting through a window I'm assuming the duct work is all easily accessible.  Lowe's and Home Depot sell a cleaning kit that uses an electric drill to spin the brush as it goes through the ductwork.  I've found it to work quite well and you can do it yourself.  It may take a few passes the first time to get everything out if it has been a while since it was last cleaned.  Just make sure you get all of the loose lint out after running the brush through from both ends and you're good to go.  Please note that if the line is not hard but rather a flex duct line you can easily puncture a whole in it with this kit and will do better to clean it by hand.

As stated above, it can vary between companies.

Typically just an inspection implies you do not have a contract or agreement that may include discounts or free repairs.

With our company you would get the annual maintenace service that you should do every year, and if repairs are needed, they are extra, but you aviod paying a "service call charge" that would be related to most repairs, because you are paying for the "inspection" and we are already on site.

Inspections are often discounted in the slow seasons, and can usually be found advertised , at reduced prices , on Angie's List.

So consider Angie's List and find the best of the best in HVAC contractors!

I have never seen one of this type that does not exit the house. You would not want the grease dumping into your basement, even with a filter it will happen.

The greater part of your job will be carpentry as if there is a wall behind the stove a hole will have to be cut up through the basement into the wall up to the stove. Unless it is one of the stoves that allows for it to fit inside a cabinet below. To answer correctly most here would be a picture of where this project is being done. I have done motorized ones that extend up out of the counter when in use and then retract. Those exit through the cabinet and require the cook top is to the front of the counter and not a drop in one

As an added note these tend to be better as they do not pull the heat away from the stove top when in use as much as the ones flush with the stove. I have install quite a few and happen to have an Amana cook top with built in down draft and I have to shut it of to get water to boil on the back burners.

A carpenter will know what can be cut and what not in the basement, a sheet metal contractor should know as well but at the other end for the finish by the stove they might not. Most carpenters that do kitchens have installed the minimal amount of duct work for this. They just have to be carefull with the number of ellbows and the lenght of the duct.

Very nice young man fixed the dishwasher in a very short time. Communicated with me promptly, great service. Will definitely recommend and use again.

Everything went very well. They had to order the ice maker valve, so they actually installed a spare ice maker that I could so I would be without while I was waiting on the valve. They make this as convenient as possible by letting me pay by phone w/ credit card as well. I unfortunately did not meet my tech,

did an awesome job from start to finish and I am really happy that I went with them for these problems.

I was referred to
Mcpherson Appliance Repair Experts Provider Name Locked
by Maytag when I called about my malfunctioning washer. I called and left a message, called again (they had no record of my original call) and was told it would be $90 plus tax for just the visit. They were also unprofessional bordering on rude making the appointment. Eek. But my washer wasn't working right and I'm new to the area, so I went with it.
The initial service call was fine, the tech was nice, explained that "the bearings were shot" and would have to be replaced, and it would be an expensive job. I told him I needed to know the price before I decided what to do. He said I'd hear from the office in a few days. I kept limping along with the washer I have and didn't hear from them. I finally called, they looked it up and said the tech wrote that I needed a new drum. I told them he had said bearings, the woman on the phone said she didn't know what the difference was, maybe you needed to purchase the drum to get the bearings--either way, she didn't have a price and told me she would call Monday. Needless to day, Monday came and went. I called today and was told the price would be $500 for the part plus tax and labor. I asked why it took so long and the woman (to whom I believe I had spoken earlier, she has a distinctive voice) said she didn't know, the information was just sitting in my file. So I'm left not sure whether to call someone else or get a new washer.
PS--Along the way I called the Maytag 800 number to tell them I had had an issue with their provider getting me an estimate. The Maytag rep called

while I was on hold to see what the issue was, and came back and told me they said they hadn't called because I told the tech I didn't want the work done. My receipt, which he wrote up, says estimate to follow. Whatever.

Our LG Washer insured through HH

Warranty program and the called P&F to do the repair. The owner does all repairs. He was unable to determine where the water under our washing machine came from. He then said the "sensors" were bad but the sensors worked. So I asked him where the water came from and he stated there was no water. I was speechless. I pointed to the water and asked "what's that"? He then replied "that's not water". I asked him what it was and he replied "I don't know what you do in your home". Again, I was speechless. My house is spotless. He said the washer has a design flaw but the unit was fine because the design flaw wasn't causing any water to leak and he couldn't duplicate the problem. I asked him if he knew how the water leaked out of the washer and he again replied "that's not water". He is very uneasy communicating with customers as he doesn't use complete sentences. I was very patient but it was clear he didn't understand how the washer and sensor functioned. I've worked with many repair men over the years and have never dealt with anyone as rude or inept.

The job was a small job so small that

didn't even charge me based upon parts and labor. He only charged his service charge which was a number he communicated to me ahead of time.
I want to compliment

on his prompt and professional service. I will also commend

on his communication throughout the process. Mine is a rental property so I cannot be at the property to oversee.

was very easy to work with, he communicated his schedule to me, promised a call from the property to give me an estimate, etc.

THE WORST. Contact this company only if you don't have a job and can stay home for lots of appointments.
I've had three appointments to try to get my dryer fixed and it's still unresolved. The first was for them to come out and tell us that it was broken so they could order a part. The next was to install the part WRONG, And the third they cancelled citing bad weather (but my husband who is a local auto parts driver who had no problem going into work and driving all day).
Problems with service abound. The receptionist has a terrible attitude problem; her voice drips with irritation and confrontation. They told us that the part would be in on a Monday so we waited for the call to schedule install - it didn't happen. We waited a week after the date that they said they would have the part before we called to ask what was up. They had gotten he part the previous week but had forgotten to call.
In the end, the timer doesn't line up to the stop areas so we had to cover it with blue painters table indicating the new stops and minute settings but they don't see an issue with that. They can't come out at the end of their service window or commit to smaller time windows than 2 hours. I'm not sure I'm even willing to work with their bad attitudes or just get a new dryer.

- Emily A.

Service was good. He diagnosed and explained the problem including that a fix was only likely to last for a couple of years. He explained the options well. I would definiitey call them again.
- Charles H.

Prompt service started from the beginning. I was called, and an appointment set up for the service within a day. Two professional servicemen came out and diagnosed the issues with both appliances. Within a week they were back to complete the repair. In a timely manner, they fixed both appliances, and cleaned up any thing which was disturbed. They took the time to review with me their work, and to suggest what I should look for after the repair.
I had occasion to speak with the owner of this company as well. He was extremely respondent and professional, courteous and sincere.
I can't say enough good about this company... from the top down it is a first class, 5- star operation!
