As much as I would like to say do your homework and be prepared, I'm not sure it will work with this place. My step-daughter goes in to buy a pre-cert car from a buyers
program through work. Price is set (supposedly). She's a first time buyer, college grad. During a 5-hour exchange to get this car, we have to haggle over the price of the car, the 'pre-cert fee', other fees, taxes, interest rate, amount to finance, etc etc etc. We had to go thru a dog and pony show of saleswomen to manager, back and forth, back and forth. You feel like a hostage during this entire time. As soon as you say no or indicate you are leaving, more interactions with managers, promises to make it work and 'fit our budget'. You are charged a flat rate pre-cert fee on all cars. Ours was 9% of car price. Cars.comsays I should of paid anywhere from 2-8%. The car has a broken widowshield. They almost tried to get us to walk out without the 'We Owe You' paper to replace the windowshield. Wonder why the 150 point inspection for pre-cert did not catch a broken windshield??? They actually wanted to sell a car with a broken windshield and have me pay for that on top of the price of the car. I actually thought I had the pre-cert fee removed during our 'negotiation' but then it shows up in the contract. Of course, the contract was done with a different finance manager since the one I made the agreement with was busy with someone else and this guy couldn't honor his agreement. Seriously, one employee cannot honor another employees agreement. So I'm back at square one, four and half hours into this process and closing time is 30 minutes away. Can you see how this all works. There are other things to mention but I can take up this entire page of the experience. Like I said, do your homework on everything, be prepared to get up and walk out if you are not getting what you want and finally inspect the car yourself since the pre-cert process seems to be mal-functioning. Finally, the car payment booklet arrives in the mail and the interest rate is 0.1% higher then discussed and the monthly payment is $0.98 higher.

We also had a leak from our tanks in two of our 3 commodes, they came out to fix it right away, and repainted the baseboard that was discolored from the water leak. The purchase was fine but the customer service afterwards was less than professional. They gave us 6 months interest free to pay off the rest of the car fee which we had already paid the other half in cash. The remaining amount was to be paid $1000.00 a month until payment was in full. I unfortunately lost my job within that time, however I was making a payment of $500 every two weeks and tried as hard as I could to keep that up. They started calling every day even though payments were being made. The calls were constant and less than professional. I tried talking to them and reminding them of the payments that had been made and were going to be made. However, they continued to be rude.
The final straw that broke the camel's back was when the car was paid in full and the

Came back on Friday to pick up the car and everything seemed great with it. Two weeks later we took a road trip 300 miles away and the brakes started smoking. We were driving down lake avenue in Duluth MN. And was pushing my foot all the way down trying to stop, luckily I was able to stop before an accident occurred. He had replaced the pads but left the roders which were like 50 grit sand paper. Because we were out of state we needed to get them done there. We paid $400 for the brakes and roders to be done properly. We also found out three warnings came up on the vehicle. Another $300 needing to be put into the vehicle. I know it's a used car but at least if you say your going to fix the brakes, do it right. I would never recommend anyone to buy a vehicle from them.

The sale of our TSX went well. Low pressure, and competitive price for our used car, which was a loaner car for their service group. Fairly pleased with the sales process. The
problem came with the financing. I was used to being fairly treated from prior dealerships. (You can stop laughing now. ha ha) They basically have access to many lender options, which were generally favorable, and which made it less advantageous to do a lot of work trying to secure financing ahead of the purchase. purchase, the financing guy said he was looking at many options to find me the lowest rate, which sounded fine on the phone. He ended up saying that a fairly local bank had the lowest rate. Well, it wasn't until I had signed over my trade-in car that I saw that he has a $250 up-front finance charge on the loan, and a early payoff penalty before 2 years of a 3-year loan. It so happens that my external information showed that my final sales price was at least $250 better than what could have been. So, I went ahead with those lame terms.
One interesting footnote is that I noticed about a week after delivery (and notified the dealer) that there is a puncture in the heat shield under the engine. I am about to take it back for its first service, and we'll see if they do anything about that damage.

The salesman was a great person to work with. He was friendly, straightforward, reasonable, knowledgeable, and honest.
The cars we wanted to see were stored on an adjacent, unpaved lot. It was all grass. The ground was wet and muddy -- we came home with dirty shoes. It really seemed like a third-rate used car outfit.
The finance guy added extras into the sales contract without talking to me about it, and then told me to sign. His explanations about certain fees were vague and condescending. He shredded and reprinted the contract three times before he produced a version that reflected the deal I constructed with the salesman earlier.
