"Excellent and honest service. Great courteous staff. I will use them any other time I need locksmith services.

-Steven B.

"This guy is amazing. He's an excellent communicater. Sent me a confirmation text. He's punctual and polite. Then he was able to come early and called" first to see if that would work. My front door lock felt like it was about to break, so I called a locksmith during the day because the last thing I wanted was for it to break late at night. He took it apart. It was indeed about to break. He showed me everything and explained it all to me. He's very polite. I'd never used a locksmith at my home before, but I would definitely call
again, should I need anything "locksmithed." I highly recommend him. I wish all service providers were as easy to deal with.

In addition to the roughly $100-200 for the lockset itself, I would expect from $50-100 range (depending on your local labor costs) by a locksmith, ASSUMING you get a lockset that uses the existing door and frame lockset holes - should only take about 15-30 minutes in that case. Could run into maybe $100 more for a carpenter or the locksmith to fill and glue the existing holes and then drill new ones if lock does not fit the existing (probably "standard" hole spacing and setback - or maybe $200-300 more for carpenter to put in entirely new striker side trim and paint to match if you don't like the looks of the filled holes.
I understand your concern - but locksmiths are criminal record vetted and bonded pretty well, so not a major risk there. Unless you bought the deadbolt and entry lockset as a boxed set - both keyed the same - it would be normal for him to rekey so they use the same key. People do not want to have to fumble with two different keys to get in, so he probably just did not think to ask if you wanted them the same. Is it also possible he was keying to match a back or garage door lock too so all your entry doors use the same key ? A large portion of their work is rekeying locks after change of tenants or owners, or changing out a worn out lockset, so that would be second nature to him to do it - I don't personally think you have a high risk from this, unless perhaps you live in a very upscale house and had a lot of valuables laying around that he could see while working. If that $66 million Van Gogh painting you bought yesterday was leaning against the entry wall waiting to be hung, then I might be a bit concerned - otherwise not.

South Bend Locksmiths Provider Name Locked
was extremely professional - and super quick! He was actually over in 10 minutes from the first phone call(I am sure this was unusual, but was still a pleasant surprise). He was very efficient, a dream to work with and highly skilled. After sending me a bill I had inquired about the 5% Angie's list discount - he apologized and gave me a 10% discount for the error. Highly unnecessary, but certainly welcome. Would absolutely use/recommend.

I cannot begin to say enough good about this service.
The lock on my front door had been difficult for years. That morning it simply stopped working. The door could not be unlocked. Fortunately I got in through the garage.
When I looked on Angies List for a locksmith, I saw that this one had a deal -- and the price I was charged included that discount. It would have been more like $239 without the Angie Deal.
This was on a Saturday, and I thought for sure I would be waiting all weekend to get a repair.
However the technician called me within a couple of hours and agreed to come over that day. He had me email photos of my existing lock so he would know ahead of time what to expect.
He was at the house within four hours of my call. He was friendly, professional and thorough.
He put on a brand new lock -- wth all the inner and outer hardware, incluiding both the handle and the separate deadbolt. It looks much better than the old one and the difference in locking and unlocking the door is amazing.
The price -- discount or not -- was much lower than I expected, especially for a Saturday emergency service call.
I would never consider a different locksmith.

After trying 4 keys, I could not unlock the door to my garage. I called and explained the problem. I also mentioned that our home had recently been power washed and painted. The gentleman on the phone suggested that I try WD-40. Which, I explained was in the garage as well as my two automobiles. He promised to make a call and have someone out right away. As soon as I hung up I checked my laundry room and found some WD-40, which I tried and it worked instantly. I called him back and he was happy to have helped even without a visit. I will definatly use this company if and when I need a locksmith in the future.

I called
South Bend Locksmiths Provider Name Locked
after 5 on the 29th to see if he could re-key a rental home at a good price and do it soon. He answered no problem and said he could do it at 9am the next morning. I got there right at 9am and he was already there waiting for me. He did all the work very cleanly and quickly (within 45 minutes). He gave us some advice on changing the front door hand and dead bolt which he provided and replaced with heavy locks. They were basic style but that's all I wanted for a rental home. So he replaced 1 ext. deadbolt, ext. door knob and re-keyed 5 doors locks all for $156. I was very impressed and he will be getting all my business in the future. He has a pleasant personality and did quality work.

South Bend Locksmiths Provider Name Locked
was great. Incredibly professional, responsive and courteous. Not sure normal pricing for this type of service, seemed a little high but he was very fast and did a great job. Even adjusted some of our doors so the locks closed easier. Would recommend for sure!

We got Lock Guys off Angies List, called
South Bend Locksmiths Provider Name Locked
and he came out the next day. He was on time, he completed the work promptly and left all locks in good working order. He was pleasant to deal with- he had asked what color our existing hardware and brought the appropriate match for the new with our old. We would definitely use him again.

We called this locksmith because of a front door deadbolt lock that was getting difficult to put a key into. I've had this type of problem before, years ago, and a locksmith came and said all I need was to have the lock "reamed", which I understod to mean that the tumblers in the lock just needed to be lined up or straightened. No big deal. The lock was kept and worked fine thereafter. We were expecting a similar reasonable fix. Instead, we got some young Hispanic man who could not speak ANY English at all. Nothing. So who knows how well - if at all - the basic problem with the lock was understood. This young man's solution was just to put in a new lock. Even though that was more expensive than we expected, that would have been fine, just water under the bridge. But for the last few months the lock has started to suffer from the same problem, and now, 5 months later is unusable. We called
South Bend Locksmiths Provider Name Locked
and Key back to asked them to address this problem. They would only do this for another significant fee, something like a couple hundred dollars. They said they guarantee their work for only 30 days! I expressed considerable displeasure at this and said I think that 30 days is a very short time to be willing to stand by your work. It's just a deadbolt lock, not a high performance sports car we're talking about. The person with whom I spoke then went on to say that the "technician" who installed the lock no longer worked for them anyway and couldn't be dispatched. Hmmm. Then they said that the problem was really with the lock, not the installation, which is an interesting assertion because no one from their company ever came to look such that they could even make that judgment. Besides that, their ads claim to use only the highest quality locks, etc. etc. Because of my insistence that they come out and do the right thing and stand by their work without gouging us again with some fat fee, I eventually got on the line with a man who was apparently the owner, "
South Bend Locksmiths Provider Name Locked
". This person was extraordinarily defensive and quickly became rude and insulting. He said I "wouldn't know a good lock if I saw one." Funny, I was thinking the same thing about him. After a moment of his unprofessional tirade, I just said that I would put this review on Angie's list to spare others the misfortune of dealing with this company.
South Bend Locksmiths Provider Name Locked
asserted this was a "threat". No
South Bend Locksmiths Provider Name Locked
. It's just a customer exercising his right to complain about poor service. If the quality of your work isn't important to you as a matter of principle, then take this bad review and whatever ramifications it has on your business. All I can say is, if anyone reads this review and still goes with
South Bend Locksmiths Provider Name Locked
& Key, you deserve whatever you get.
- James D.

South Bend Locksmiths Provider Name Locked
was OUTSTANDING! He called ahead to say he'd be there a bit early, called to say traffic was a bit bad and he'd be 10 min. after he said (which was still very on time). We walked around the house to see the work, and then he got started. Showed me each time he proposed something. told me prices before he did it. Gave choices and reasons to do things. Extremely professional. Extremely neat. I didn't feel he rushed anything and he had me triple check things to make sure I was happy.
