Marble And Granite Reviews in Greenwood

The owner came to give the estimate on March 1, 2011. He seemed knowledgeable.
One of his suggestions for the bar top was to use metal supports instead of corbels to support the standing bar (15 " deep and 8' wide). He said they would be strong enough - and not seen.

Granite arrived in a timely fashion and the installers were here on time on April 21, 2011. They were pleasant.
It was later that we discovered problems.

When the original laminate bar top was removed, the installers did not cut through the caulking. So, when it came out, it damaged the drywall which they left unrepaired.
The metal supports were installed, but were very visible - unlike what we had been
to believe. The standing bar top (46 1/2" high), along with the lack of caulking, was easily noticeable from the dining room seats right next to the bar.
When the plumber arrived later that day to connect the new sink and garbage disposal, he pointed out that the proper clips had not been used to install the sink. Scrap pieces of wood had been nailed in place inside the cabinet to hold things up. The plumber further discovered that one of the nails driven through the scrap wood had pierced the water hose to the dishwasher and needed to be replaced.

Within a month or so, we noticed that the supports for the bar top were not holding it level. It was 3/8" difference from one side of the 15" granite to the other. Several phone calls were made to the company with no response. A trip was also made to the office and we discovered that they had moved back to
from Greenwood. Then, we drove to that office but only spoke to the assistant. We were told that the owner would call when he returned. We received no call. Since we were working with an interior designer who had recommended this company, we asked him for his assistance. He placed a phone call and spoke with the office assistant who said that the owner would call back. After a week and no call, a second call was made by the decorator. This time, the assistant set a date for them to come out to look at the problem. The owner did not come out, but sent the original two installers. After much discussion, they decided to make the repair by placing 1/4" of shims between the metal supports and the granite. Better - but still not level. As they left, it was pointed out that they had not caulked, and the shims made the supports even more obvious.
To rectify the problem, we contacted another company to level the top and install corbels.

Just before Thanksgiving, we noticed the grout/caulking between the backsplash and granite countertop had cracked from one end to the other. Upon inspection by the second company, we were told that because the cabinets had not been leveled (a responsibility of the granite installers), the cabinets were pulling away from the wall. To solve this problem, much additional work will need to be done by the second company.

We are very disappointed in the lack of professionalism and workmanship of
We feel that if the owner had contacted us about our concerns or if he had inspected his installers' work, we would have had a completely different experience - and possibly some of the difficulties could have been avoided.

The workers were great.
The main boss was the problem.
He was very knowledgeable, and a very good salesman.
He always seem like he was in a real big hurry.

The main boss got extremely mad at us at the very end.
Apparently he told my husband there would be a discount if we paid cash.
We mistakenly thought that meant a check.
We had paid the first half of the project up front with a credit card.
My husband had called, and asked if there was any savings if you pay cash?
For us we thought cash was(cash or check).

So. they said "yes, if you pay cash you get a percentage off.
Well, we wrote them a check for the remainder that we owed.
It was late at night (7:00pm) so we gave the check to one of the workers.(They were just finishing up the job).
So, apparently we made the boss really, really mad, he came to our home that night and basically chewed us out.
I can't even describe to you how unprofessional it was.
He did this in front of the workers that were trying to finish the project.

He said the "F" word at least 4 times.
He said that if we thought that we could "F" with him, we were mistaken.
We have never in our lives been talked to like that.
He was so mad at us, that we were afraid that he was going to rip our kitchen out.

My husband told him, it was so late that night that our bank so closed, we couldn't get the cash right then.
So, on Monday morning he met my husband at the bank, and my husband gave him cash.
The boss kept the check with him.

Every aspect of the job went fine, it took longer than he"the boss" had anticipated.
His name was
What he did to us, was the worse experience in our life's.
I was so taken back by him, that I couldn't even go in my kitchen for a few days.
It took all the fun out of having an $8000 kitchen remolded.

The workers were great.
We were happy with the company and the workers.
The boss is what ruined it.
We never want to see that man again.

The workers were very professional.
Workers="A's" The boss=" F's" on ratings.
If it wasn't for him everything would be an" A".

They provided estimates on both occasions. One of their staff was kind enough to meet me to help select the marble for the backsplash. I received a proposed outline of the backsplash design prior to signing the contract. They are professional and the work done is excellent. They also leave the area clean and neat. I would highly recommend them in the future and will certainly use their services again.

The owner is really personable. They have a great tiler that tiles the back splash. Their price was a little bit better than most. I really like the owner. Overall, it was a favorable process. There were a couple of things that the installers wanted to cut corners on a little bit. The one issue is it?s a L shaped counter top up against the built-in cabinets, the one for the refrigerator, and I discovered it later and I've never called them about it, the granite top nudged the cabinet over just enough that I can hardly get the refrigerator in and out. I think that was the only issue, but the owner was here quite a bit checking up on them and tiler work is just great. They were still good and I would use them again. The first guy they sent out was a salesperson, I think some one new they were breaking in. He came out and sold the thing. I got 3 estimates and chose them, I called them back and I was having a hard time getting a hold of him. It took me about 2 weeks to get him pinned down and to get him to call me back. I mentioned that to the owner when we went to pick out the counter top material and he couldn't be more accommodating after that. He made up for it and he would come over and check on the job during the day as they were working and so forth.

Mostly, the demolition work went well. When the subcontractor's countertops arrived and were cut incorrectly,

's plumber put in a plywood temporary sink that was very good to have. The recut countertop arrived in about 4 days and the plumber returned to put in the faucet. All in all, the kitchen counter was torn up only for about six days. The wood skins on the cabinets match well, and the room looks much better.

The people there from sales to installers to phone were extremely knowledgeable. The installers did a beautiful job of installing without making any mess in my home. The sales staff let me know everything I needed to do to prepare for my countertops. The price was half my other quotes. They installed when promised. They always return phone calls. I have already recommended them to a friend.

Took us about a 6 months to pick out the granite we wanted.

He was a wonderful person, he let us come and he cut some tile for us, he even did it for free! He was very responsive, he replied to emails immediately even on the weekends. He was very helpful.

came out to our house and measured the desktop. He gave us several options to choose from. We could have a company custom cut it to size and install it, or just to have it custom cut and then we would install it or purchase a granite
