"I am very pleased with the work that
and his crew did. The price was exactly what he quoted and work done on time. It isn't a large" transmission chain so if you are looking just for nice lounge then go to aamco but if you want quality, friendly, experienced service you won't go wrong here. Everything was explained to me in terms I could understand and was kept informed of the work and problems during the process. Office staff is very friendly and
was easy to work with. He has worked on my daughters fiancés car and he was very pleased with the work and price also and would also recommend Builders to anyone needing transmission work.

"First of all, I would like to state that American was the only service provider that would even attempt to install this in the time frame I needed that work done" in. I will commend them for that only... Here's the rest: When I was called, I went and picked up the vehicle. He showed me what he had done for $200.: 1) He did not integrate the new cooler in series with the existing factory one. In essence, this was the only cooler now. 2) There was no phone call to receive my permission to deviate from the original plan. 3) No inline filter was installed. No phone call. 4) :Later that day I found transmission fluid on my garage floor. 5) Subsequent inspection found the cooler installed at an angle in the right lower corner of the AC Condenser. Installation in this position prevented the need to remove the front fascia of the vehicle, which is required to do the job properly. 6) Further inspection showed the 2 hose clamps used to affix the tubing to the fitting were rubbing directly on the AC Condenser cores, in essence an accident waiting to happen. It was at this point that I realized I could not trust
to do the work correctly. First impressions can sometimes be very powerful. I really felt they just performed a job to install the new cooler, as I did request, within a specific time frame, which I did request, but fully ignored any and all technical details and good practices just to make $200 quickly. 7) I went to a local Ford Service Department the next morning asking them to fix the leak and reinstall the new cooler correctly. They refused to touch American's work but would stop the leak by wrapping a piece of rubber tubing around the area in question and holding it in place with tie-wraps.. The cost of this "service": $209. Total for service to date: $409! 8) The goal of adding the new cooler to the system was to realize a reduction of transmission fluid temperature. This leads to longer transmission life and, as I pull an ultralite travel trailer, it's a necessity. 9) That Friday we did take the trailer out for a weekend camping excursion in Southern Indiana. My worst fears were realized when I started seeing temperatures of 215 to 220 degrees for sustained periods, with a high of 228 degrees. This is bad as transmission fluid starts to break down at these temperatures, leading to increased wear. 10) I called a friend in Michigan, who is an automotive expert. We drove to his house, where we again experienced elevated temperatures in the 215 to 220 range. 11) We removed the front fascia and removed the new cooler. It was then realized that
had tried to mate .5" transmission lines on a .375" barbed fittings and use 2 hose clamps on each fitting and tighten as much as possible to seal the leak! This is in no way an appropriate fix for any technical professional to even attempt. Right off the bat he should have made the call to me, described the issue at hand and aborted the installation. He did not... 12) We then went out and acquired the correct .5" to .375" barbed fittings, some additional .5" transmission hose to ensure smooth bends in the routing then proceeded to remount the cooler in an appropriate physical location and inline with the existing factory cooler. 13) We now see temperatures no higher than 195 degrees under load pulling the trailer up the worst hills! This is what we desired from the beginning. 14) Unfortunately, the Ford Service Department saw what had been done to the vehicle, for which I have purchased their best extended warranty plan.
's technical neglect and poor work could end up affecting this warranty of my vehicle. I am sad this has happened but a good friend in Michigan came to the rescue... 15) I will also state I went to the dealer service department with the first request to install an additional cooler but was turned down. This
me to seek other alternatives...

Repairing a transmission

My van was whining and that nasty noise was getting worse. I called m&m, they listened and put a new idler arm something in it. Now it is quiet as a mouse! And they indicated that I needed new o2 sensors and new lift things for the back hatch. They checked the tires and fluids and said it was good to go. Their proactive attitude is very helpful! I highly recommend their auto mechanic services. I will use them regularly for my vehicles.

My 1999
Fort Wayne Transmission Shops Provider Name Locked
had a transmission leak and the Nissan dealer recommended replacing the transmission altogether - $2,200. The leak, they said, was coming from the shift selector seal - a $0.78 part I discovered. But dealers don't repair transmissions. I found HT Trans on Angie's list and set up a time.
Fort Wayne Transmission Shops Provider Name Locked
and his team discovered the leak (he had purchased the part in advance) and actually found it was in a different location. They got a replacement part, repaired the leak, cleaned up and it was ready in a couple of hours. All told I went from either a $2,200 tranny replacement to sucking it up and getting a new car to a $75 repair.
Fort Wayne Transmission Shops Provider Name Locked
was extremely professional, knows what he talking about and did exactly what was needed to get me back on the road. I highly recommend HT Transmissions and would gladly return.

I was called immediately upon their discovery of the problem and was told that they could repair the differential which was in need of a completed rebuild. They told me that the timetable would be approximately 1 week from start to finish. They did exactly what they said they would do and delivered my truck in the timetable they estimated.

The car that was to be serviced is a 2002 Subaru Outback.
My daughter called on Friday
Fort Wayne Transmission Shops Provider Name Locked
31 to make an appointment for the following Monday August 3, 2015 and the person she talked to said just to bring it by and that it wouldn't take very long. So no appointment, when we got there on Monday they were busy and we told them what we wanted done with the car. We showed them the coupon which states a fluid change, filter change a new
Fort Wayne Transmission Shops Provider Name Locked
gasket if required and full diagnostic check. When the person at the counter saw the coupon he went into the back to talk with a manager, we assume. He said we would have to leave the car over night because they were to busy and that they would get to it tomorrow morning. They said it would be done by 12:00 noon. We got there about 1:00 P.M. and a guy handed us the key and said we could take the car. When my daughter asked for a service receipt stating what was done for her records the person said we would not get one because it was a free coupon. She replied I want to know what was done to her car so she will have a record of the service. The man got perturbed and said the paperwork was behind and that he would email a receipt to her. When she got into the car which she had previously filled up with gas there was only 2 1/2 miles on it and that was the amount of mileage when she dropped the car off. If they did service the car they didn't test drive the car after it was serviced. She did get an email with a receipt stating that a transmission service was preformed but that is all what it said. No notation of what transmission fluid was used or filter. Cars require a specific transmission fluid and if an incorrect fluid was to be used it would mess up the transmission. When we got home we told my husband about the situation and that we did not think the car had been serviced. He called
Fort Wayne Transmission Shops Provider Name Locked
and asked for the manager. When the manager got on the phone my husband reminded him of the car and service. He then asked what fluid was used and the manager couldn't name it, "what ever is appropriate for the car." When asked if the filter was changed he said no without explaining why the old filter was not renewed. The manager was rude to us when we were there and was rude on the phone. We are not entirely sure what service was provided by
Fort Wayne Transmission Shops Provider Name Locked
, and find it highly unusual that no documentation was provided. It is our understanding that documentation describing work performed is pro-form in all service industries. Documentation is an important aspect of car ownership, and
Fort Wayne Transmission Shops Provider Name Locked
provides no support in that area.

My son was using my 4 Runner to go the beach. He had a problem with the transfer case on the way down.
Fort Wayne Transmission Shops Provider Name Locked
worked with us to get the vehicle towed, road tested and replaced the transfer case during the week he was at the beach. The cost was much lower than expected. They communicated and resolved all of the issues quickly and kept me informed as the repairs progressed.
