I have my internet service with Century link as it is the only provider
that services my house. Century link has the worst customer service of
any company I have ever dealt with in recent memory. My internet has ...more /> been barely working since June 25th. It is now
15th. The first
time I called in I was told that my router was the issue. I went out
and bought a new router and the problem still was not fixed. They then
told me that I needed an appointment at my house. The soonest they
could come out was 7 days later. My appointment was from 8 AM to 12
PM. I waited and waited but no one showed up. I called tech support.
They called the dispatching department and were told that the techs
were just too busy and not only didn't have time to come up but didn't
even have time to call. Basically, too bad, so sad. They showed up the
next day and fixed something outside the house. It worked for about a
day then the problem returned. I made another call to tech support.
They worked with me for a long time and told me I was dropping packets
during the upload process and this was causing my overall slow speeds. The capped my speed at half of what I was paying for in order to stabilize the connection. They made an appointment for the techs to come to my place again about 5 days later. I was traveling for work when the tech was supposed to come out. He called me the day before to find out where my place was. After I told him he asked me what the problem was with my service. Seriously? I asked him if he read my ticket as told "Not yet". He comes out the next day and leaves me a message. "I came out to look at your service. The problem was somebody but a cap on your speed. I took it off. All is working" Are you kidding me?? I told him about the cap the day before. Of course, when I got home from traveling the service was still not working and I'm still waiting for them to come fix it. Supposedly they are coming out on the 17th.
If you have any options other than Century Link please avoid them like the plague!!!! This company has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Oh, I almost forgot. I was give the area managers phone number. I have left him two messages so far with no call back.

I called
in response to an advertisement, and received a quote for HDTV and whole home DVR to four TVs. I waited a few days, and called back again, confirming the price and services on the previous quote, and scheduled the install. When the installer arrive I reviewed promised services and equipment, and it was clear that
was planning to install standard equipment. At that point, I decided to not let the tech begin the install. Upon questioning this,
told me that the promised services would be $25/month more, and they were disappointed to hear that it was not yet installed.
I spoke to customer service, was transferred around several times, and all anyone wanted to tell me was WHY they would charge me more, but everyone refused to honor what I was verbally quoted. One customer service rep refused to transfer me to a supervisor.
When asked DirectTV to pull the recorded calls that included the review of the quotes, I was told it was not DirecTVs policy to honor misquotes. I cancelled my order.

At first, I was very skeptical because the called twice to say the we're running late. Once they arrived, however, we discussed what we wanted and the got right to work. There were no additional unplanned charges. They told us it would likely be an 8 hr job and they were completed on time. They cleaned up after themselves and were pleasant and professional. Our "man cave" looks amazing with the 55", 70", and 50" TVs and we can't wait for football season!

Installation portion in the crawlspace was OK, maybe an A-. I am super picky and didn't like that he left cables on the ground and attached cables to my water main. Minor detail!

!!! Satellite internet is a rip-off. They are price gouging and taking advantage of people who live in areas where DSL or Cable modems aren't offered. There is no reason why this service should be so expensive.
at&t offers 250GB worth of data a month for 39.00 and we are paying 80.00 for 20GB and we don't even get the full 20 because they have taken our off peak data usage from our peak usage. I am totally dissatisfied with this service.

the supposed 'supervisor' was no help at all!! I cannot name the other operators that we attempted to get help from because I am not sure how to spell Shanikqua, and two other names. Each operator we spoke with seemed to be reading from the same script. I am so unhappy with the lack of service and non-responsiveness of this service provider I will not return to them when Comcast starts their inevitable price jacking.

. The first time was to fix issues we had with Direct TV. They solved the problem very quickly. This visit was to get all of our wall mounted TV's down. Our realtor told us to leave the brackets, but we were told by

that the brackets come with about 20 bolts and you use the ones that fit the TV and throw the others away. He said it seldom works out. Pay attention to this advice! We would have had to repurchase several brackets and the new homeowners would have probably thrown the ones we left out. From on the time we called they were there "post haste". The price was more than fair, but their advice was priceless! I just wish I could take them with us on our move to Florida to reinstall our system when we get there. I used Dish Satellite in two states over a period of ten years.
At first I was enthused with the service because lived in a back-country area where neither off-air or internet streaming was possible. And at first (in 1992), the price seemed reasonable at under $50.00 a month.
But each year the price went up. And each year the packages changed so the good channels I wanted to watch were in separate packages. I had to purchase the entire package to get the few channels I wanted. In all I watched some 25 channels regularly, but needed to purchase over 300 to get the few I wanted. Over 9 channels of garbage, like shopping and reality shows I did not want to get the one (about one in ten) channels I DID want. And the price kept increasing. Also, they locked me into using Dish Corp decoding boxes and paying a monthly rental on them. I did procure a box myself, but they insisted that, if I used it, I still would pay their monthly rent for my own damned decoder. Now THAT is corporate arrogance beyond the

By 2011 I was paying $120.00 for TV service, but had also moved into a more urban area where off-air TV and high-speed internet service was available. The move was supposed to be cost-free, according to their advertisements, but it was as if I were buying the service for the first time, with hookup charges and all. No amount of complaining to the sales force changed a bit of that excess billing. The hit on my budget was extreme. I could cut back, but each package I dropped would eliminate those shows I wanted to watch. But, in the end, the cost got to me. The rent on set boxes was excessive and constant, and each year they increased the price.
So I bought an internet streaming devise for less than $80.00 and a TV antenna for around $50.00. I then cancelled their service.
Now I have two internet streaming services that give me 85% of those shows I used to watch, for a total cost of $15.00 a month. This month I am going to add a third, so I can get the rest of the 15% of choices, and it will add another $8.00 a month to my entertainment budget.
Service was usually good from the local equipment guys, except for the 4 hour window of service, which was inconvenient for a self-employed person.
The phone help was spotty at best. The corporate restrictions leave the sales force with no wiggle room at all and negotiations with Dish were futile. Logic did not apply to them.
The biggest problem is their stupid insistence on packaging groups of unwanted channels with those that are popular.

shopping would cure that problem, but that is a dirty word to Dish and also to all cable providers. So they lost a customer entirely, and probably lost me forever. Now almost all of my family have followed suit, canceling their cable or satellite services in favor of streaming services and off-air TV, saving at least $100.00 a month that they can better spend on other necessities.
