"I purchased a Big Deal coupon for $99 that was good for $200 worth of work as a gift for my brother and sister-in-law to get their light oak crib and dresser repainted white. When I called the provider, he told me to give his number to them and have them call him. Everything went ok for them setting up an appointment and him showing up to do the estimate. However, his estimate for the work was $400 for EACH piece. Once the $200 coupon was applied, it would be $600 to repaint a crib and dresser!!! They could practically buy new stuff for that amount! They realized that was an outrageous sum and got estimates from some other companies which were all at least half of what
Carmel Furniture Repair Shops Provider Name Locked
wanted to charge. They decided to have someone else repaint all the pieces for less than he was charging for one.
I believe he was quoting whatever he thought he might be able to get from them since we had already paid for a Big Deal coupon and he thought they were locked into using him. Either that, or he didn't want the job and didn't have the guts to tell them that, so he just pulled a ridiculous number out of the air to turn them off. I certainly hope his prices aren't that unreasonable all the time!
I called Angie's List and am getting the $99 I paid for the Big Deal back. Thank goodness Angie's List has good business standards!

"I called Chase yesterday with a furniture "emergency" The previous night, the weight of my Tempurpedic mattress broke my bed frame. My husband literally slept lopsided all night! Chase had no idea what the damage was but, he squeezed me in to take a look.
He saw that he would have to build from lumber, a replacement side rail. He also saw the mattress had been entirely lopsided. He came back later that day, fixed the frame. They got the 300+ pound mattress back up onto the bed and my husband was able to sleep last night. These guys are awesome!!

"The work of
Carmel Furniture Repair Shops Provider Name Locked
is top rate! We have now used them on three separate occasions and each to beyond our expectation! Our first work was to refinish a kitchen table that had been in family for decades - looks better than new. Initially the table finish was what I had wanted but different than my wife had thought - no problem. They re-stained to match what we both agreed to - even though error was of our doing!
In addition, they totally rebuilt a favorite chair passed down through the generations to better than new including the repair of "broken" legs to point you can't tell where the break was.
The work was so good on initial work we looked for other work they could do - including the rework of an entire office that had been custom built and poorly finished.
Carmel Furniture Repair Shops Provider Name Locked
and his team "rebuilt" the office to beautiful results and finish.
The final project - the smallest we did - was to rebuild cushions to match what had been used previously. Again, only the highest quality.

"He showed up yesterday on time. I expected that the whole job could be done within the $200 alloted, since it was a small job, and the previous estimate was $120. It was a solid wood kitchen table with a

top. I only needed the edging of about an inch or so around the table itself and the legs done. He estimated $350 to $400 for the job! (Less the $100 coupon savings, it would still cost $250 to 300 for the job.) Obviously I declined and will get a refund of my original money from Angie's List (I hope that goes well...)
The reason he gave for the very high estimate was that he would have to

top with masking tape and newspaper and "that could take time"! I could do that in less than 5 minutes myself. I didn't accept his business card on his way out .

"We purchased this grandfather clock about 13 years ago. We grew tired of the finish and it no longer went with our other furnishings. I contacted
Carmel Furniture Repair Shops Provider Name Locked
to see if they could darken the finish. I was assured that it could be done.
Carmel Furniture Repair Shops Provider Name Locked
picked up the clock and we discussed the new stain color which was based off of another piece of furniture in the room. They sanded and prepped the clock and applied several coats of a new finish. It took about two weeks for the work to be completed. It is absolutely beautiful! We could not be happier. It looks like a completely different clock. The clock face really stands out with the dark finish."

"Excellent! The Patio Guy scheduled a pick up time and date, was absolutely punctual. He estimated it to take about 1 week, it took 2, however that worked better for me as I needed to get the room painted! My furniture sits like it did when it was new! He scheduled a deliver time and date and was right on time."

"The gentlemen gave an estimate, picked up the pieces, refinished them and delivered them back. They stayed true to the estimate, were very thorough in their quality--tightening up all loose joints, drawer slides, etc. and I was extremely happy with the finished product!"

"They did a fine job. They are an exceptional company. We took the some antiques, furniture that had belonged to grandparents and great-grandparents. Just by looking at it they could just about date it and tell you the finish of the wood and finishes that would work. It is really an exceptional organization for work of that type. This was the first time we had used them. They got a lot of work done for $2000."

"Owner,
Carmel Furniture Repair Shops Provider Name Locked
, returned my phone call promptly and described some of the types of refinishing his company does. After speaking with him and reading the Angie's List reports, we made an appointment for him to come look at the furniture. After looking at the pieces he agreed only the tops needed to be treated. We worked out a price and he took the furniture with him. Besides being a very personable and fun guy to work with,
Carmel Furniture Repair Shops Provider Name Locked
is also very knowledgable and professional. While he was at our home we asked him to look at some older mahogany furniture and he gave us quite a bit of information about their age, manufacturer, etc. It was like being on The Antique Road Show -
Carmel Furniture Repair Shops Provider Name Locked
is also a licensed antique furniture appraiser. When the tables were returned a few weeks later they looked like new. The stains, pre-school drawings and discolorations we replaced with a beautiful finish very closely matching the old finish. He did a great job and we are now considering using him to work on our kitchen cabinets.

"When we finally got to place the order, the time to repair was shorter than the 3 week estimate they gave us. Initially I had difficulty reaching them by phone and the answering machine wasn't working. I had to go to them to get information."
