"Dr.
is thorough, careful, thoughtful, kind, and very discerning. She is good at seeing what is happening with an animal and taking
" phased steps that place the animal in as little risk as possible, while offering real chances of improvement. Unlike other vets we have visited, she does not automatically want every test and prescribe every possible medication for an animal. She responds much like my favorite doctor, by taking intelligent smaller steps so as not to over medicate an animal or suggest surgical interventions if something less drastic may help instead. Dr.
is all about whatever is best for the animal with minimal risk for the long term. I deeply respect the way she works, which is guided by her expert knowledge, the animal's best interests, and the concerns and wishes of the pet owner. Dr.
is a good diagnostician. She is very empathic with animals and their owners. She is excellent at the very hard task of seeing what is actually wrong and knowing the full range of what can be done for an animal. She will undertake heroic rescues of very ill animals. She will also counsel what is the best improvement that might be gained when an animal is very ill, which is sometimes hard to hear. She neither pushes owners to do more than they wish, nor encourages them to have animals destroyed. Dr.
instead gives the pet's owners the information they need to make informed decisions. Dr.
herself has adopted a variety of animals that had a need for very expensive treatment that their owners chose not to give. After Dr
unpaid care, these healed animals now act as friendly greeters at the door of her facility, making a visit there a treat. We have deep respect for Dr.
commitment to animals. The kind, friendly, thoughtful, and generous
staff are also easy to work with. All staff there are adept with animals and friendly with visitors. Appointments can be made soon. When you arrive at the facility, your appointment happens on time or even early if you are there early. Medicines can be formulated in house rather than having to go to a pharmacy. Prescription cat food can be ordered via Dr.
. She also has a pet portal, that allows your pet's medical information to be kept online for your reference. Additionally the fully modern animal hospital boasts x-
equipment, microscopic analytical equipment, and other modern amenities that mean that much of what you would have to go to a specialist for in other vet practices, may be done in her facility while you wait. This is very convenient. This animal hospital has very reasonable fees compared to most other vets. Lab work costs about the same as elsewhere, but is requested much less frequently. We are delighted to have the opportunity to use the services of the
for our five cats. We are thankful that they are in the area.

"My dog is no longer incontinent. Dr.
and Parkway Vet Clinic have taken care of all our many dogs and cats for more than 25 years. Dr.
" is expert, professional, compassionate, and seems to really like his work. He has so much experience that he just always seems to know what to do. He also keeps up on the latest treatments. He refers out for specialty care as needed. I like that he explains everything very clearly, answers questions, does not hurry through the visit, and always makes a plan for followup. And he has a great sense of humor and is a really nice guy.

Angie's Answers

?

Hi

The first answer is pretty thorough but I would like to add a few points.

First.. the type of food you are feeding your dog may be the key.  If you are using a food that is grain, rice or corn based in the first three ingredients, please change to a food that is meat or chicken based.  Many dogs are allergic to grain, rice, wheat and corn and these things are used as primary ingredients in many well known, name brand dog foods.  Secondly, all treats that have these ingredients should be cut out.  It takes weeks to months before a food change can show results so you must be patient.  Jumping from one food to another will be counter-productive.

Some dogs are so allergic to flea or other insect bites that one or two bites can cause a severe reaction.  Once the itching/scratching cycle begins, it is hard to stop it.  Benadryl is good but I suggest liquid form.  You can get it inexpensively at one of the dollar stores.  The pills take time to break down in the digestive system so you get better and faster results with the liquid. One tsp= 5cc and most dogs of average size can tolerate that much and more if the dog is a larger breed.

Allergy testing is very expensive and most dogs will test positive to some things.  That does not mean that the itching is coming from those things as many things in the environment can trigger positive test results.  Breaking the cycle of itching is primary and that can be done with prednisone ( short term and last resort after benadryl and bathing), allergy shots( same deal, last resort after easier methods).   This spring and summer have been particularly hard, weather-wise.

Good luck!

After you search for the company, you should get the "no results" page. Scroll down just a little bit, and you'll see a button and a link that say "Add this provider." Click on that to add them to the List! Thanks for the great question.
?
I'm really sorry! It looks like we made some site changes I hadn't noticed before and it made things just a little more confusing (for me, too!). We'll have to look into this to make it easier.
In the meantime, here's what you do:
1) Look for the Submit a Report button. It's yellow and on the right-hand side of the page.
2) Search for the animal cancer care clinic you're looking for. The search box should be inside a yellow bar.
3) You should see a list of potential matches, but on top of those, there should be "add a provider to the List" text in blue, which is where you'll click to get to the add page.

Let me know if you have any trouble. Sorry, again, for this being so confusing.

We have lived in Delaware since May 2014. We have several animals so finding a vet was important to us. We gave this place a shot and have been happy with them thus far. Everyone is super nice including the front office girls and the welcoming committee of cats. We have been pleased with the services we have received and will continue to use them for our pets.

We received the most insensitive care possible. It was SO traumatic for us. My husband & I were sobbing. The Dr. never introduced himself or said ONE caring compassionate word. He did not speak unless we asked a question. The experience was HORRIBLE.
She was our baby & I'm heart broken-hearted her life was ended by such an uncaring Dr.
I will never return there & I will voice my opinion of this facility when mentioned or asked.
I called the next day sobbing to inform them of our experience. I never heard from anyone apologizing that our visit there was so HORRIBLE.
I followed up with a letter to the owner but I have no hopes in hearing from him either.
Seems to me this facility is clearing only interested in making money.

Our

was not a patient of thier's. We took her there because she took a turn for the worse and

is close to our home.
I picked her ashes up (not even sure the ashes are her's) & paid the almost $400.00 bill.
I will NEVER step foot in that place again.

I was so grateful to find

I have been using Dr.
Virginia Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
for years. He is hands down the best vet I've ever had. He is dedicated, caring, honest and a heck of a nice guy. I completely trust him. His #1 concern is the care and quality of life of your pet. His #2 concern is you and your pocket book. If he tells me that something is needed, I have no doubt or hesitation that it is in my pet's, and my, best interest. That means so very much when you are faced with a pet health concern or crisis... Also, see the reviews for the Cincinnati Central Animal Hospital, which was his previous location/practice. It is at that location that I first found him through Angie's List and he resolved my cat's health issues, researching and consulting with Ohio State to find a mix of medications that would work, after multiple vets before him had given up and said there was nothing they could do.

didn't seem that concerns, didn't clean bloody hair from wound. 3 times After dog bite check I took bloody foul smelling runny gelled stools in and they said not concerned. On a Friday morning a few days later we called for appointment as dog not eating or drinking. Was told to wait till Monday. I called emergency vet and took dog and was given about 3 medicines, they called next day to see how she was and told me to be sure and get to vet Monday. I took her to west

I have been taking my dog to Valley Vet for a few years now. Everyone who works in this office is compassionate and kind. They clearly care very much about the animals. My dog was very sick and had heart failure, and it was time to say goodbye. Dr.
Virginia Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
and his staff could not have been better in this terrible situation. They made sure we had as much time as we wanted with our dog and treated him and us with the utmost respect and kindness. I will continue to take my younger dog, and any dog I own in the future, to this wonderful office.

Dr
Virginia Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
was referred by my coworker when we were looking for someone new to address some serious struggles our dog was facing. It is so unfortunate that we found him during our dogs end of life--I wish we had found him sooner-he is a wonderful veterinarian! He was extremely sensitive, patient, knowledgeable and concerned during each visit regarding our dogs struggles. Our dog had been progressing with the inability to use his back legs. To address this, we visited our regular vet and 2 others throughout the progression for 2nd an 3rd opinions. We felt that the vets were not very helpful and none really had much to offer and did not seem very sensitive to the progression.
On our own, we purchased a cart to help him walk but he did not take to the cart. He continued to progress and my co-worker suggested Dr
Virginia Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
. He was the first vet to suggest an appointment with a Physical Therapist that works exclusively with dogs to see if she could help him transition to the cart. The PT was also wonderful and offered excellent supports; however, at that point, we feel he had progressed beyond the cart---if only one of the other vets had suggested this sooner. Our dog could no longer walk which brought many other associated challenges. Dr
Virginia Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
could not have been more knowledgeable and sensitive to the needs of our dog and our concerns--he even called to follow through after each appointment. We had to make a very difficult decision which is still hard to share; however, our best and most loyal friend could not have had a
Virginia Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
vet to be with during his last moments. I would highly recommend Dr
Virginia Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
. We do not plan to get another animal because it is so hard at the end but if we did, we would most definitely use Dr
Virginia Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
. He is an A+.
