Family Doctor Reviews in Schaumburg

I am on my forth doctor here at this medical group. I have not been happy with her or the other three doctors. There is only one group of doctors there that will see you when you are sick. There are some groups that have good staff and some that do not have a good staff.
- Howard & Shelley C.

He is a family practitioner. After the throat culture results for my son were out from the lab he did not recommend using antibiotics because he felt that it was not a bacterial infection, but a viral infection. He has been our family doctor for the last ten years. He treats my three children and myself. He has excellent availability because he is actually available on Saturdays too. I have had very good experiences with him.

Family Doctor reviews in Schaumburg

While I was healing, Dr.
Schaumburg Family Practice Doctors Provider Name Locked
visited almost every day to check on my progress, coordinated care with other doctors, and diagnosed another very serious, life-threatening condition that had developed (pulmonary embolism) and he made sure I had all the appropriate treatment and followup. He has continued to provide excellent health care to me and my family.

I have been seeing Dr
Schaumburg Family Practice Doctors Provider Name Locked
for over 7 years and I believe i have a very good reflection of the type of care you can expect to see from him at this present day. Please note that my perspective of Dr
Schaumburg Family Practice Doctors Provider Name Locked
's care covers all facets of the typical Primary Care Physician. This includes not only just the regular office visits, but also the visits you expect and pay for when you are admitted to the hospital for a very serious illness or condition. Of course every person's mileage may very, but I am pretty sure that people would like to know how a Doctor performs when you are sick and at your worst. I also want to let you know that I have Crohn's disease diagnosed in 2000 that has lead to over 12 hospital visits(ranging from 3 days to 1.5 months), 5+ surgeries (ranging from 14 hrs to 2 hrs). In over 80% of these surgeries and hospital stays Dr

was my presiding Primary Care. When i first started seeing Dr
Schaumburg Family Practice Doctors Provider Name Locked
in 2003 he seemed cordial, nice and very willing to be my Doctor (instead of me being his patient). However, after a month long stint in the hospital in december of 2003 i started to notice that he wasn't the best listener nor was he there to focus on my needs and be a resource to me. Case and point, I told Dr
Schaumburg Family Practice Doctors Provider Name Locked
that i have always had joint problems and stiffness in my joints since i was a little kid. Dr.
Schaumburg Family Practice Doctors Provider Name Locked
then replied as a matter of fact that he would never prescribe me weight loss pills. What was funny is that I never asked him for any weight loss drugs. Yes i was obese at the time, but I attribute this mostly to the steriods i was taking for my disease. It was sort of hard trying to work out when i was in pain all of the time. A couple of years later I found out, by myself , that I should try Physical therapy so i could work out my core and learn to walk correctly. I had made my back and muscles get out of
Schaumburg Family Practice Doctors Provider Name Locked
from being hunched over from having abdominal pain for so long. In the past two years Dr Ostens Office has moved to modernize all of their medical records, but this has caused more problems than made things easier. (important to know If you are a person that likes to have copies of your medical information). Any previous medical information that you give to Dr Ostens office is first sent off to some central storage location. The records are then not immediately scanned into their medical records database. Since Dr
Schaumburg Family Practice Doctors Provider Name Locked
's office didn't have records of my previous vaccinations in his office medical records program i was incorrectly given a Tetanus and Measles booster. However i was told by Dr
Schaumburg Family Practice Doctors Provider Name Locked
that his office would first look through records that had not been scanned into their medical records program from numerous stays i had at St Alexius & Alexian Bros Hospitals (Both hospitals that he is a part of) or the medical information i had first given to his office from my pediatric primary care doctor. I have since learned that I have received three complete tetanus boosters (tetanus boosters involves getting three shots over a 4 wk period) in less than 3 years (your only supposed to receive one every 10 years). All of this information is in records that were supposed to have been reviewed by his office. The last final issue i have with Dr
Schaumburg Family Practice Doctors Provider Name Locked
is that he no longer goes and makes visits to patients while they are staying at hospitals that he is a part of. He now relies on a service that has no access to your previous medical records, and has no idea who you are. Dr
Schaumburg Family Practice Doctors Provider Name Locked
is now streamlined to have as many office visits as possible so he and his practice can make the most money as possible. Make an appt and you can easily see no matter what time of the day the office is packed and you will have to wait sometimes up to 30 minutes. When i first saw Dr
Schaumburg Family Practice Doctors Provider Name Locked
in 2003 his practice was not run this way. I believe that the most important issue I have with Dr
Schaumburg Family Practice Doctors Provider Name Locked
being my primary care is that you won't see Dr
Schaumburg Family Practice Doctors Provider Name Locked
if you are in the hospital. Imagine this, you are one of your loved ones gets in a very serious accident and have to have surgery done. When you wake up from recovery you are not greated by a primary care Dr who knows your past illnesses, issues with medications, and your personality. Instead it will be a group of Drs you have never seen before that has no clue who you are and what your needs are. These stand-in Drs will rely on you telling them your medical history at that instant when you are doped up on medication and your mind is so muddled into mush. Just because you might tell this doctors your medical history doesn't mean they will povide you the medications or treatments you might require. My final though about Dr
Schaumburg Family Practice Doctors Provider Name Locked
as your primary care Dr is: If you just want someone to perform check ups and prescribe you medications for a sore throat he can handle your problems like robotic assembly line. Quick, courteous, and without issue. However, If you believe that you aren't bullet proof and you could possible get hospitalized some time or have some medical condition he is not the primary care doctor to have.

I was really pleased with the staff, starting from the front desk person. She was very courteous and helpful. I had to go for a fasting blood test for my diabetes and I was fuzzy. She was very kind and understanding. The nurse had a little trouble drawing blood and she was very kind and very patient. I then saw the doctor right away. He kind of did some repositioning of my arm. The doctor was really thorough. My appointment was for the blood test and some initial screening. He had some computer software, I bought in my notes and things were processed quickly. He was very personable and he has 2 working ears, which is also a very good. There was no problem getting an appointment. The waiting room was very comfortable and the exam room was also very neat and very clean.

He examined me and ran some blood tests. It turned out to be a thyroid problem in which he prescribed meds for. In addition, we just had a new baby and he came to the hospital to examine him. He came on his day off and answered all our questions. We even discussed how HMOs work and the high cost of medicine. He is a terrific person and a good doctor and it took a lot of trial and error for me to stumble on his services. You will not be dissapointed.
