Peoria Flooring Installers Reviews

"Let me preface this review by stating that I am writing on behalf of my 71-year old mother. It has taken a long time for me to write this report, as we have had ongoing issues with
Peoria Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
getting him to finish work he began over a year ago. Initially I contacted
Peoria Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
based on his Angie's List ratings to get a quote on a bathroom remodel. At the same time we had some interest in a rental property we owned and decided to use him to remodel that space first. We were excited to have him work as he seemed very punctual and professional (at first). We were completely wrong. During the intial phase of the work he made a number of attempts to collect payment before completion. Even worse, when he did submit bills to us they often included items such as new tools or cokes he bought while at the handware store. These were not new tools needed for this specific job, but tools he bought in addition to the approved products necessary to complete the remodel. When it was pointed out, he took them off (in some instances), but would then do the same thing the next time. During this purchasing, he apparently bought and used sub-standard materials that later cracked and broke (specifically wood on the handicap ramp he built!). Near the end there were MANY unfinished issues - such as the trim on the outside windows. He left them open and exposed. When we did get him to return to complete the trimming, he did such a horrible job we finally had to hire a different person just to finish his work. Since the end of the job, a number of issues have been found, including the broken ramp I previously mentioned. More recently, we were contacted about the linoleum he installed in the salon - it was apparently rolling and catching, with huge lumps forming under the product. When we looked, we found that it had not been attached to the floor in any manner! We once again called
Peoria Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
to come and fix what we assumed to be a mistake (who doesn't use some kind of adhesive or tack with vinyl flooring?). It took days of unreturned phone calls to get him to come back, and when he did he said that when he put down vinyl flooring he didn't use any kind of adhesive or nails - that he just laid it there thinking that was good enough. He then counseled my mother to go and buy some bags of ice, to

them on the lumps, and that would make them go down over time. When she told him that was unacceptable, that the floor needed to be properly glued down as this salon is mostly used by older ladies and the floor made the facility difficult to navigate for them, he told her that if we wanted him to do anything else with it we would have to pay him for the rehab. Needless to say, we will have to now find someone else to clean up the mess.

"We called
Peoria Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
Floors, INC to help us with an estimate on sanding, re-finishing, and sealing hardwood floors in our home after we completed several projects. The first contact we had was prompt, however, they were the most expensive and unwilling to complete with any other prices. They suggested that we contact them again when we were ready to have the floors redone. I contacted the company once again after we had completed the projects in our home and asked them to come again to re-estimate our floors. The sales representative was professional and polite and said her night worker
Peoria Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
would contact me within one hour. We have not heard from them again and when I called to follow up with them, she had no record of talking with me. We will not do business with them as we faithfully believe that being prompt and responsible when taking ownership of a business is expected, especially at their costs.

"A salesperson came to the house at the correct appointment time and measure and gave me an estimate for the work. Two weeks later, the first installer came to do the bathroom, which was on a Friday, then on Monday he came back to install the flooring in the kitchen. He took my transition pieces of hardwood back to the store to be modified for the entry ways. While he was measuring, he stated he wasn't sure how to even measure them to be cut, but said he would be back by the end of the week to install the last pieces. In the meantime, one of the employees called and asked me to pay for the work. I agreed to pay 1/2 down and then the balance upon completion.
The following week a different man came and tried to fit the pieces in to finish the flooring, however, they were not cut right so he re-measured and said they would have to have new pieces made and they should be done in about three days. He also was not sure on how to measure them, so he called a co-worker to double check, the co-worker came, had booze on his breath and then urinated on my bathroom floor, didn't even ask me if he could use my bathroom.
A few days later the second guy came to fit the pieces, low and behold only two of the three fit, and I had to supply some fir strips, because he didn't bring any, otherwise it would have taken another hour and that was after he modified them again at my home, where he cut them again on my driveway, he did not even clean up the mess he made. He installed what he could and then re-measured the third piece to be cut again. Then one of the salespersons called me and said there would be an extra $90.00 charge since I didn't like how it looked and for a new piece to be made. I told him, I was not paying an extra $90
because, it was a mistake on their part, not mine. He said well you know that we have to pay $30.00 for another piece of hardwood and we also have additional labor for the guy to put it in again. What a joke! Their mistake and wanting me to pay for it.
He came back again with the third piece the next day and fit it, then asked if he could install it and put the poly- coating on it while it was down, I did not want that smell in my house so I told him he would have to take it back to the shop to finish it and then come out again to install it.
In the mean time I received THREE phone calls from Suttons asking for me to pay the balance. I explained to them the first time that I never pay for a job in full until the work is completed and satisfactory. One of them said that the work was almost complete and he felt I should pay. But I didn't.
Today, the third guy showed up and installed the hard wood strip, just to find out that it was about 1/4 inch or so too short, which I had to point out to him, he said he didn't notice it. So he took another piece and cut a 1/4 inch piece and stuffed it in the hole. After he was done he asked me if he could use the bathroom, once again the same guy that urinated on my floor the first time urinated on the floor again. All in all the floors look okay, but a total of six trips including the first estimate and the way they were so anxious to collect their money before the job was done....and a job that isn't as professional looking as I would have liked, but I am done with it I would not recommend them now...20 years ago Yes, not now. I even recommended them to my mother before they did my work, and they did a good job, but she has seen what happened here, and she said she wouldn't recommend them either. During all this time there were five different people to my house and some of them, not looking to be people I felt comfortable with having in my house, wondering if they are of up standing character, and thru my whole house, in my opinion, I would look around else where
