I have been almost a customer of
Paxton Water Pump Services Provider Name Locked
Well Drilling for almost 5 years.
He was used multiple times, about 4 years ago, replacing my 2.5HP in ground pump with a 5HP (that he recommended) in-ground well pump that lasted about 4 years (normally it should last 8-10 years). Nine months ago, he again replaced our pump. The second 5HP pump that Mr
Paxton Water Pump Services Provider Name Locked
installed started to show similar symptoms of the first pump(having to reset breaker from time to time since replacement, and gradually got worst the last few months) so I called Mr
Paxton Water Pump Services Provider Name Locked
out twice. Each time, he just came over and assumed that my system had a bad Tank, Bad Stop Cycle Valve, Bad Irrigation system, and finally Bad Wire and Breaker going to the pump. Frustrated, I called another company for a second opinion they immediately indicated that they know of

’s work. They took their time to listen and ran detailed test on my whole electrical system and found NONE of the issues that Mr
Paxton Water Pump Services Provider Name Locked
stated I had. They found that my control box had a burnt out relay (Which was a reused part from the first pump that Mr
Paxton Water Pump Services Provider Name Locked
installed).
Also, the second technician that came out stated that I should not have been upgraded to a 5HP pump when everything else such as existing pipes and wiring was re-used from the 2.5HP pump that I originally had. The smaller pipe and smaller gauge wiring in effect makes it wasted to have a 5 HP in my well.
Furthermore, my first 5HP motor was tested by the second technician and he indicates there did not appear to be anything wrong with it. It was later hook up to my refurbished control box, and the motor ran fine. This indicates that I got a bad diagnosis and was charged another new pump install for no reason.
Attached is report from the second company:
FURNISHED LABOR, EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS TO INSPECT/REPAIR EXISTING 5HP SUBMERSIBLE PUMP SYSTEM DUE TO PUMP TRIPPING OUT RESET AS PER CUSTOMER. FOUND FAULTY RELAY IN EXISTING CONTROL BOX; FURNISHED AND INSTALLED NEW RELAY.SERVICE TECHNICIAN TESTED EXISTING IRRIGATION SYSTEM; FOUND NO CYCLING ISSUES. TESTED #12 WIRE GOING FROM WELL TO HOUSE, NO GROUND READING PRESENT. TESTED #14 WIRE GOING DOWN WELL, FOUND NO GROUND READING PRESENT. TESTED

READING ON PUMP SHOWED CLOSE TO 5HP. CHECKED AMP READING BEFORE REPLACEMENT OF RELAY: 100AMPS / AFTER REPLACEMENT OF RELAY, AMP READING: 16.5

They had the well pump about ten feet from the top when it got stuck. They were saying that they didn't think it would go past the place where it was stuck but they would lower it a little and try to pull it up again. When they loosened the clamp pulling the pipe to get a different grip they forgot to tighten the lower clamp and the pump and pipe fell to the bottom of the well ripping the wire off the pump. The owner of the company just shrugged his shoulders and said "oh well you needed a new well drilled anyways". When I told him I felt like I was being ripped off he got real mad started screaming and swearing very close to me with his finger in my face. The other four guys with him started walking toward me and I felt very intimidated so I said if he kept swearing at me I would call the police. At that point he told his workers to get his tools and get in the truck and leave yelling one more time at me. So I was left with no working well and now had a basement full of mud from them walking in and out and a mess of pipes and wires strewn around the place. This was supposed to be a couple hour job. The pump worked before they ripped the wire off. it was just losing pressure if the water ran for a long time(like watering the lawn). if it was true that I needed a new well drilled I could have had water while it was being done if they had not dropped the pipe ripping the wires. My pump was pulled out about five years ago by a different company. I don't know what could have happened in the last five years to make it not come out now. This is why I felt like I was being ripped off.

I had a sewer line backup into the toilet and shower in my finished basement. I had a plumbing service clear the blockage but it took several tries and all 100 feet of the roto rooter line. The plumber recommended I contact the County to ensure the line on the County side was clear (100 feet seemed to reach the county side - but the County clean-out point was not known). County came quickly and confirmed their side of the line was clear. They thought there were roots on my side of the sewer line. I contacted the original plumbing contractor and asked them to give me an assessment and recommendation on needed correction. The contractor sent their Master Plumber. He told me I needed to replace the entire sewer line from the house to the County connection. He said that I probably had ceramic tile pipe which had cracked. I asked why the whole line needed replacement and why he was not going to inspect it with a camera. The "Master Plumber" knew from experience that the line would need replacement, after all it was 40 year old ceramic pipe. The cost estimate was $6000, and that did not include replacement of the lawn, trees, bushes etc. They would only refill the ditch with the soil removed. I contacted a second contractor asking for an inspection and recommendation. They only wanted to send out an estimator for replacement of the entire sewer line. Again they were not interested in actually inspecting the line with a camera. After all the County folks said there were roots. (I never spoke to an actual plumber or engineer.) I called

and found the Inspection Service I wanted.
Paxton Water Pump Services Provider Name Locked
did exactly what I needed. Here is what I learned: (1) the sewer line was actually clear, (2) that If there had been a blockage
Paxton Water Pump Services Provider Name Locked
could have told me exactly where it was located in my yard (he can ID the location of the camera in your yard), (3) that the line was Cast Iron so if replacement is needed it need not be the entire line. It is well worth spending $200 to confirm or not-confirm the need to spend many thousands. If something does not sound right (like not wanting to actually look at the sewer line) stop and find someone else. It is common practice in Government Contracting to hire One Contractor to Design a Project and Another Contractor to Perform the Project. Sometimes when you are lucky the first Contractor will tell you that you don't need the product after all.

was on time and well dressed. He explained the water would be off but during the installation so I was expecting this to take awhile since it had to be placed in line with the plumbing under the sink. I bet it didn't take 30 minutes for him to install it! And under the sink was cleaner than when he started! Great job! Very polite and personable gentleman. And now my water tastes so much better!!! Now I can take filtered water with me and enjoy it at home!
