Woodworking Reviews in Park Ridge

The project started fine with us leaving deposit & Julians sub-contractors showing up at agreed date / time. As project continued sub-contractors arrive late daily & would announce early departures. As project progressed when challenges arose
's team made excuses of what they couoldn't / wouldn't do rather than communicate & offer solutions even if those solutions would have required additional cost. As homeowners we would have been open to discussing options to any obtacles.
At this point we have paid
the reamaining balance for the job & check has been cashed.
's team attempted to leave site without cleaning up. We had to contact
to have his crew return to clean up w/ a shop vac, scrape the floors of excess mud & finish small details. We did not get to do a final walk through after clean up because they left unannounced. We later inspected and found many areas of concern. We emailed
photo's of the inferior work (ceiling light fixtures cut too wide, edging in multiple places exposed & jagged, bubbling tape jobs, remaining sanding - see photo's) & set a meeting for him to inspect the work on-site. He visited our house & agreed the work was not complete and wasn't ready for priming / painting.
A week later
sent me a text message & stated his sub-contractor would contact me & take care of the remaining issues. I sent
a email of the remaining work expectations that he agreed upon.
's sub-contractor sent me a text message during the week stating "I won't do a whole basement or spend a entire day out there". Feeling this was
's responsibility to manage his sub-contractor I forwarded him this message & voiced my concerns.
's sub-contractor came out on a Sat morning claiming he wasn't aware of what work needed to be completed, raised his voice, made several excuses & stated
should finish the job himself. Shortly after this he left abuptly and stated he was going to buy materials.
After 1.5 hrs the sub-contractor failed to return we reached out for
but had to leave a message. Rather than a phone call to investigate the situation we received a text message stating "I'm not prepared to work w/ people who show disrespect or threaten my employees - we will not be coming back again". This accusation couldn't be farther from the truth, however
didn't show us the professional courtesy to contact us regarding the actual situation - even after we provided reservations concerning his sub-contractor's text messages earlier in the wk. Three days later I reached
via phone & he agreed to come out & finish the remaining work himself.
chose to come on a day I wasn't available to supervise his work. Thus, I left a list with my wife of the agreed upon repairs that needed to be completed. He worked roughly 2 hours, did not complete the list of expectations & left unannounced prior to my arrival home. I called
to see when he was returning to finish the list & sanding but was again forced to leave a message. Immediately he sent me a text message stating "I won't be coming back - there is some light sanding the painters can do". & that is the last communication we have had. I tried to reach him for 3 straight days following that last message with no return calls. We were hoping to resolve this issue internally, but
has chosen not to communicate further. Because of this we felt warranted in filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and obligated to write this complete review to warn Angies List members to beware of this company. Their communication is poor, work inferior & integrity questionable at best. I'm attaching some what their owner considers completed work to let you base your opinons on for yourself.

showed up at the house and completed all of our top priorities. He was very professional and did a great job. We threw a bunch of rather odd jobs that we really wanted to knock out together.
did it and did a fantastic job. I would recommend them to others that have similar needs. Couldn't be more pleased with the end results. A big "thank you"!

is the BEST. Many will offer to attempt, but none of them have the knowledge, skills, expertise or artistry that he has. We had an integrated sink that cracked and it was an odd shape sink so it could not be easily cut out and replaced with a drop-in. We literally spent YEARS looking for someone who could do what
Park Ridge Carpenters Provider Name Locked
can do - he's one of a kind. He gave it careful consideration and really threw himself into the work. The work he did is awe-inspiring, he had to cut into cabinetry, build up the corian on each side, etc. etc. Over the holidays we had guests - many of whom are craftsmen in their own right, and they were speechless looking at the fine work that
Park Ridge Carpenters Provider Name Locked
did. I HIGHLY recommend him to anyone.

Existing space consisted of an enclosed laundry room in our basement.
Park Ridge Carpenters Provider Name Locked
transformed the room into a sit down wet bar, with new cabinets, counters and tile work.
During initial consultation,
Park Ridge Carpenters Provider Name Locked
(owner) had some great ideas about how to work with the space and the many constraints you encounter in a basement setting. We agreed on a concept and a price that seemed fair given the scope. As the project went along, there were a few times where decisions had to be made regarding unknown existing constraints, finishes, etc.
Park Ridge Carpenters Provider Name Locked
always had good ideas and was very cooperative about tweaking the design as the project moved along. I even asked
Park Ridge Carpenters Provider Name Locked
to do a few other things, such as relocating the dryer vent, and adding a new partition wall, which he readily agreed to do for a very reasonable cost.
The entire scope of the project included opening up an existing wall, finish carpentry, new cabinets, new granite countertops, new sink, ice make installation, backsplash tile work, lighting and electrical.
Overall great experience. Will not hesitate to contact

for any future project, big or small.

and crew-that was pleasure to work with You.

Pleasant and timely. They perform very high quality work with high quality material. I used them numerous times over several years for bathrooms, family rooms, and bedrooms. They were always prompt and helpful and although I was not getting a low price bargain, I did receive very high quality products that exactly met my requirements and aesthetic desires and I felt very comfortable working with them to get the furniture I desired.

Everything went well and as expected in relation to the sidewalk work, fence work, gutter and installation work, and stair, railing work. The stucco work was done very well, in a professional manner. The one draw back with the stucco was when we thought he was going to come to do the work and he didn't show up for a few days. When he did come, the job was a good one. The workers were pleasant, hard working, and kept the work environment clean.

was always prompt, and kept us very well informed every step of the way. We have used this company before and will do so again.

They went well above and beyond to perform state of the art construction to address moisture problems, heat loss and sound control caused by aircraft from O’

. I am having them come back shortly to do more work because I trust their quality. Provided name of siding, soffit and fascia that fit exactly what we needed. No other company sold what we wanted without being twice the price and were great quality. Suggested window manufacturer with triple pane high R value windows. These were excellent and provided a savings of 30% to 70% over competition, which I bought directly from the suggested Chicago manufacturer. Helped me to work out how to properly ventilate my north facing steep roof, which could otherwise have been economically re mediated. They spent a lot of their time helping me achieve my goal. Blinds were custom designed and required careful adjustment to hang. They were very accommodating to the fine tuning I wanted. Very helpful and creative in solving unique challenges to properly ventilate and aid the attic to remove moisture. Resurrected broken shower pipe by pulling out key kitchen items to get access, without destroying new marble. Amazing, even they were not sure it would work. Saved a fortune in having to redecorate the kitchen. I will use them in the future to replace the kitchen counter and sink, along with bathroom. All of this was performed at a price that this homeowner could only dream of.

and his workers are craftsman that take pride in their work and want their customers to be happy they used them. I am sure that is why most reuse them, including me. I will use again and again. Already planning several new projects.

The project went just about perfectly. The guys arrived on time at exactly 7:30am every day. You could practically set your watch by it. They work extremely quickly - the amount of progress they make in a day is really amazing. It was actually difficult for us to keep up with them in terms of design decisions hardware selection, etc. Just as importantly, they cleaned up after themselves every day - once they were gone you would hardly know they were there. The workmanship is great and everything is very solid. In

, they did a great job with the acoustical challenges and the new room is virtually soundproof. The kids can easily play games or watch TV down there, even at loud volumes, and nothing can be heard in the room directly above. The work on the bathrooms was also great - they not only did what we asked, the brought some good creative ideas, and also were not afraid to tell us when there was a better way to do something. I referred them to my sister, and they did an equally good job on her basement - I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. We hired
Park Ridge Carpenters Provider Name Locked
and his crew based on a recommendation from a friend, and the price was very fair - we definitely felt like we got our money's worth!
