Park Ridge Chimney Sweeps Reviews
Very dissatisfied with their work. If they intended to perform work without any warranty, they should have advised to that effect when we called them and we would have gone elsewhere. Had they spent more than one minute in trying to actually fix our existing damper, rather than trying to sell us a new one for $ 490, perhaps it could have been fixed properly. As a nonexpert, this seems to be a problem that is susceptible to any easy fix ,if one actually tries to fix it.
In summary, very unhappy with their work."
They also diagnosed an few issues to remedy in the future, at my own pace, as my budget permits. I actually wanted to have a few things done that I had read about, but they told me it wasn't necessary for my house - they could have sold me whatever and I would never have known if it was inside the chimney, but they didn't - they were honest and ethical.
I had another company come out, who told me that my damper was "broken" and they couldn't even get inside, and tried to sell me $1500 worth of work..
out, on their IPad and I was able to see the improper connections of my furnace and hot water heater.
They opened up the wall in the basement and out fell rocks, debri and a piece of what looked like a gutter that had been
shoved up into the chimney.
Here is what was required: Furnace sweep, correct connections of the furnace and hot water heater into the line,
a new connector installed so as to head off water in the line due to the breach in the liner, tuckpointing on the chimney,
a new top plate and flashing and, of course, a new actual stainless steel liner to be installed in a few weeks.
The total cost for this job today: $3,349. None of this would be necessary if the original job had been done properly in 2003
as stainless steel is forever!
Since the chimney was never capped properly and the liner was not stainless, as ordered and paid for, water damage
