"We had a 20 year old deck that was worn and needed to be replaced and the design was very basic. We worked with
Palatine Deck Builders Provider Name Locked
on the options and he was able to provide some creative sugestions on improving the deck design which we accepted and the final outcome was great. The crew was very responsive and were skilled carpenters, the work performed was very professional. There was also a 15 x 15 foot patio that was added to the desk as well.

"Vinyl deck on my home is about 10 years old. Original boards were hollow and started to warp and crack. Contacted original deck manufacturer who provided me a recommended contractor and contacted

and estimates were pretty close.
Palatine Deck Builders Provider Name Locked
's level of knowledge and vision for improvements made it a pretty easy decision. The deck looks better than it did when it was first put in and the warranty

"The initial design and the quality of the new stoop and paver walkway, including base, were very good, but the lines were not good. Instead of natural curves, it was partly symmetric but oddly flat along one side. Contractor did return at my request to fix, but the fix was not adequate and the final design lacks aesthetic quality. The porch, built by subcontracted carpenters, is solid and looks very nice (though again there are some uneven lines). The overall job took over well over two months to complete, when even due to permitting delays could easily have been in one month. The carpenters, for example, worked only on weekends and a 4-day job took three weeks. Communications with the subcontractor were very difficult.

Once the project was underway, my phone calls always went to voicemail and most weren't returned. E-mail and office calls did not help. Outside of workmen, I never saw

or

(the foreman and his brother) on site after the second day (albeit I as working full time). Optional work discussed upon contract signing was not done, though one optional service that appeared in the contract was charged, but removed after my complaints. I did that work (rebuilding faux column bases) myself rather than wonder what I might get from the contractor.I think this contractor has the ability to do quality work, but I think the almost willful lack of communication with the homeowner. With just a little more effort and some better communication, I might be writing a glowing review tonight. But instead, I come home every day and look at a slightly flawed project and wonder why it couldn't have been done right. Heck, I'd have paid the contractor more if he'd asked, but I never even got the

to discuss the option.

"I have a very large deck, no vertical railing or benches, but I have two window wells plus a large oak tree which have vertical and horizontal planks enclosing the area. Contracted in mid may, but to do the weather, numerous delays but they always called and kept me update on the rescheduling. Very efficient and professional office staff. They sanded the complete deck, all vertical and horizontal. I also have 3 multiple step entrances to the deck. Very careful to check that the moisture level was proper. They stained the horizontal with 2 coats, and painted the vertical. My deck has never looked this good. It is over 15 years old and I used to do the maintenance myself but doesn't come close to their job. The individuals which worked on the deck were professional, courteous and very hard working especially with the heat spell. Yes, I would recommend and I will use again for maintenance in the future. I would happily be a referral for Roof to Deck if they would like
>Pricing: I had 3 estimates, and the other two were lower, but there description of what they were going to do, did not come close to what Roof to Deck offered. I feel their price was extremely fair.

"Highly professional from beginning to end.

Not only is the quality excellent and the
Palatine Deck Builders Provider Name Locked
very attractive, but the prep and clean up were excellent. The owner / President, Pat
Palatine Deck Builders Provider Name Locked
, is responsive and full of ideas to improve the appearance and durability of the project. He added custom cut overhangs and trimmed the lattice so that the structure looks like it cost a lot more than the price! We had a very professional and negotiable pricing and contracting experience. I cannot tell you how pleased with are with this experience.

We have been very pleased, and will continue to use this provider for home remodelling, carpentry, flooring and general repairs.

"Went to their store in Highland Park. I told them what I was looking for and requested an estimate. I was told somebody would be out the next day. I never received any kind of response. It was a complete waste of my time."

"He has been excellent compared to other companies that we have used in the past. We have recommended them to friends that are doing any remodeling projects. Professionalism is very important to us and they have it. They are reliable, their prices are fair, and they worked well with us. They listened to our concerns and suggestions. They were all very punctual. The new deck looks great."

"
Palatine Deck Builders Provider Name Locked
gave us a reasonable quote and pretty much stuck to it. We had some delays due to weather, which I think messed up his schedule, so the project ended up taking longer than expected. All the workers were professional and punctual. We are very pleased with the outcome of the project. I would hire him for a project again."

"

is very nice. He had great ideas on repairing my deck. His team of workers were on time and even worked in the light rain. I thought they did a beautiful job and I highly recommend them. I thought he was reasonably priced."

"He did a great job. Went beyond what the deal was. He not only sealed my deck, but secured my deck in a few places where it was wobbly free of charge. He did spill a bit of stain on an umbrella of mine, but offered to pay for it. Great job."
