"I scheduled this big deal two hour electrical package and paid for it about a month ago, ref. no. 1008297-1. It was promised within the 11-3 window today,
Oak Park Electricians Provider Name Locked
. 13. I cut a doctor's appointment short to be home by 11. When nobody had come by 12, I called
Oak Park Electricians Provider Name Locked
electric, who contacted their men in the field and said they should be here between 1:30 and 2. It is now 4:25 and nobody has shown up and the company office closed at 3!!! while Angie's list has such a backup of calls that I left a voicemail.
I expect a full refund ($99, I believe) and regret that our experience with Angie's list will reflect today's inconvenience. We will find another contractor ourselves.
Sincerely,

"During the deep freeze and foot of snow, Bill came out the day after I called him. My furnace died and I have some burst water pipes. I shut off the main electrical beaker after noticing a broken wire spark at the water meter. Bill took care of the wire. He also checked the electric at the breaker box and made sure I will have sufficient power for my sump pump. He explains what he does and always answers my questions in language I can understand. He takes the time to offer any insight he may have. He didn't try to sell me anything, unlike the furnace guy. He called me back a few hours after I called him, unlike the plumber who still hasn't called. Bill has worked on my 115 year old house in the past and I am always happy with the process and the result.

removed a light on one side of the medicine cabinet and installed a new light above the medicine cabinet. He patched the holes and modified the switch/plug so that the new light was on a separate switch from the ceiling lights. After looking at the light for a day, I decided I wanted it to be several inches higher, so I called
Oak Park Electricians Provider Name Locked
and asked if that was possible. He graciously agreed to come back that same day (1 day after the original work) and moved the light - without even charging me! I will definitely be calling him for any further electrical work.

"Buyer beware! $375 for an electrician for a day sounds great, but this was one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a contractor, and we are still trying to put our house back together. I bought one of his 'electrician for the day' deals. We wanted two ceiling fans installed (there was no fixture in the location where we wanted the ceiling fans installed so some wiring was required). And we wanted three outdated light fixtures changed out for three new ones we purchased. He came on 10/30 and 10/31 - showed up very late. Sent an assistant first who is NOT an electrician. Then a 'handyman' showed up. Then an hour later
Oak Park Electricians Provider Name Locked
, the electrician, showed up. When you buy an electrician for a day, that is not what you get. What you get is an electrician for four hours, a handyman for four hours, and a whole lot of mess and incompetence. $1175 and a day and a half later, I have one light fixture that works, two that do not (all three worked fine before
Oak Park Electricians Provider Name Locked
switched them out!). I have one ceiling fan that works, but the light switch is still hanging out of the wall. I have another ceiling fan that is installed but does not work. I have a chunk of my wall ripped out where he had to do some wiring and his 'assistant' started to patch the drywall, did a terrible job, and did not finish.
This was a complete and total nightmare. He was supposed to come back and finish the job but has not returned multiple calls and messages. So I had to hire someone to come out and fix the drywall mess he left. And tomorrow another electrician is coming to fix the light fixtures and ceiling fan. I paid $1175 and was left with a huge mess that I have had to pay others to come in and fix and clean up.

"Our initial experience with Ed was positive; he responded and scheduled the work quickly. He installed the ceiling fans, movement sensors for the porch lights, and the fireplace mantle lights but said he would have to order the dimmer switch. Because we liked his work and his price seemed reasonable, we had him look at a couple of other projects, including repairing a door intercom and adding photo sensors to the porch lights. We were able to schedule him the second time without a problem.
The work was not completed at that time and we agreed on a follow-up date; he scheduled someone else and didn't show. We tried a number of times to re-schedule at times he offered; he didn't show up, nor did he call. He stopped responding altogether: his voice mail box was full and he responded neither to text messages or e-mail. We got fed up with changing our schedules to accommodate him and have brought someone else in to finish the jobs: the dimmer switch, intercom, and photo sensors on the porch lights. The new electrician, well recommended by a friend, has questioned some of the work Ed "completed".
This horse started fast but never finished the race.

& his crew were quite willing to make on-the-fly adjustments to meet our needs/requests.
Some of the design elements we were eager to incorporate (a sliding queen

bed that disappears beneath a knee wall) required the utmost in creativity to engineer & execute well; the crew of workman designed & constructed a flawless mechanism for this purpose.

also takes great care to minimize the impact to daily living when your house is a construction zone. My wife, who was loath to take on another household project while she was pregnant, was very please by the courteous & mindful crew that transformed our third floor over the course of ~2 months.
In the end, the look on the faces of our visitors as we set them up in their 3rd floor suite says it all; they know just how much we appreciate that they have come to stay with us. My mother in-law even referred to it as the '

"We had a fabulous experience with
Oak Park Electricians Provider Name Locked
and
Oak Park Electricians Provider Name Locked
. He has done work for us in the past (built closet; replaced all the windows in the house; designed and built three-car garage) and we were happy to put him in charge of the blowing out the back of the house. He gave excellent advice and guidance throughout the process. Neither my husband nor I are terribly detailed-oriented, and relied heavily on

's design sense in the design-stage and beyond, and other more technical recommendations throughout.
Oak Park Electricians Provider Name Locked
is well-respected in Oak Park's Village Hall, which is an asset to any Oak Park homeowner trying to get a permit!
The entire project took four months, without the delays that we expected!
He created a temporary kitchen in our dining room, complete with refrigerator, sink with running water, and oven. It was awesome, and allowed for pretty much normal living throughout.
Scope of project: we expanded the back of the house by 13 feet.
Oak Park Electricians Provider Name Locked
worked with our architect to streamline the foundation design, saving us a significant amount of money. Enough, in fact, that we could replace the front concrete stoop with a beautiful front porch.
Oak Park Electricians Provider Name Locked
's associates are top-notch: the framers, electrician, plumber, and handymen (for lack of better term) were friendly, cleaned up after themselves, and were responsive if we either had questions or a last-minute request to change something. We are very happy with the cabinet supplier - they were easy to work with, delivered goods on schedule, and proved a great value.
We understand from friends who have gone through this that the punch-list can be problematic as most contractors have lost interest or have already moved on to the next project. This wasn't an issue with
Oak Park Electricians Provider Name Locked
. He work through our list without complaint.
He stayed on budget, and kept us informed about any changes due to unexpected issues or changes we asked for that deviated from the original proposal.
Oak Park Electricians Provider Name Locked
pulled off a total transformation. We are thrilled with the new space. we've had numerous people stop by and comment how fabulous the house now looks.

"Used a Angie's list deal to have an electrician switch some old wall sockets and switch out a ceiling fan. There was a long lead-time for an appointment, but they called to confirm in advance and the provider showed up on time. He was polite and efficient. I was happy with the experience.

was on time for the estimate, efficient, professional, thorough and to top it all off, very pleasant. After he left, my wife decided she did not want one of the light fixtures installed so she emailed
Oak Park Electricians Provider Name Locked
, late at night, and his estimate (which was also emailed when he said it would be) reflected her request.
Oak Park Electricians Provider Name Locked
also showed up exactly on time for the work, and did an exemplary job on everything we asked him to do. When he was finished, he went through the entire house with us, explained exactly what he had done and demonstrated that everything was in working order. Based on our experience with

, we will be calling him for any electrical need in the future and highly recommend him to others.
