Project started out strong. Contractor had good ideas and input on a couple key design elements. However, project quickly went south. While we paid $16K (mostly labor) for this project he rushed our job to move on to other projects. Note that we paid well for this work as the price paid to the contractor was outside the cost of tile, cabinetry, sinks and fixtures which we paid for ourselves.
Note that all of these items were pointed out to
and they blamed other contractors or the prime contractor even though
either did or contracted for all the work except the plumbing. We did take a deduct on the final payment for the heated floor which was not installed correctly.
took the final payment before we had a
to see how poorly the wall and floor sealant looked.
Heated floor was not correctly and evenly laid down under the tile. This is not repairable and contractor did not inform us that he had done this. We noticed when the floor heating was not even.
Stone accent tiles in Shower had heavy and residual grout. Stone accent tile was not laid into grout. Grout was applied heavily over the tile and then could not be removed completely. After the fact our own research showed how this type of tile is supposed to be applied.
did not know or follow the proper procedures for applying this type of tile.
Granite counter top was cut incorrectly. Contractor did his own measurements and not only miss-aligned the sink and edges of the granite (this was after the cabinets were actually set-in to aid measurement) but, also miss-aligned the wall sconce electrical boxes. Contractor did replace the granite at his cost but, this delayed the completion of the job.
Sealing of tile floor and shower walls was very sloppy and rushed. Even after we made specific reference to being careful on how the sealant was applied he did it in about 15-20 min. It dried with puddles, streaks and runs. We had to spend additional money using another contractor to strip it all off and have it redone. Additionally, the cans of floor sealant were placed on the granite and left rings.
Granite counter top was not sealed. We had to hire another contractor to clean off rings left by the cans of floor sealant that were placed on the counter top. Additionally the upright cabinet was glued to the granite using silicone adhesive which was not applied evenly and neatly. This adhesive was not required but was actually covering up what appeared to be damage done to the edges of the cabinet. We removed the adhesive from the granite and used furniture repair materials to repair the cabinet damage. The granite was then properly cleaned and sealed correctly by another contractor.
Glass shower door broke free. Glass shower door was not mounted correctly due to contractor not remembering where he put the wires for the heated floor. He then wouldn't allow the glass contractor to drill for the proper mounting of the glass door. The glass broke free within 1 week of the job being 'completed'. We had to spend additional money to rent a thermal image camera, find the wires, guide the glass contractor on where to drill so the glass could be properly anchored.
There were some other items that
did correct after we pointed out we weren't happy with the appearance or quality. Those items are not detailed as they corrected them to our satisfaction.

Perfectly. Workmanship and quality are excellent. Job went quickly and according to schedule. Work site kept very clean during construction and after work was completed. We have worked with
several times and have always had very good results.

I purchased an Angies List Deal for 6 hours of work. The fine print for the deal mentioned that I could request 2 people for 3 hours instead of 1 person for 6 hours. Because of the nature of the work, mine was a 2-person task. So I'm glad I read the fine print. I got an email from Angies List saying that I had a message from the company. I communicated with the company using Angies List messages to explain the work to be done, ask for 2 workers for 3 hours, and schedule the work. The workers showed up on time, were very professional and competed the work to my satisfaction.

The vendor was polite and seemed to know what he was doing. What he assembled was fine. We did need some hardware (nuts, bolts, etc.) from the hardware store to assemble certain items. He did figured out what hardware was required. It was indicated that his going to the hardware store would reduce the six hour time purchased to 5 (which would include the time to get the hardware). He explained that the 1 hour reduction in time was to cover gas expense going to the store - although the store was less than a mile away. The handyman was gone for at least 1 hour to purchase the hardware needed for the job. He did get it right, but he was gone so long, I almost wondered if he would ever return. Once he did - he did finish the projects satisfactorily. The cost of the Big Deal was OK - although not better than another we purchased. He indicated the per hour cost if we intended to use them in the future. That cost was substantially more than another Handyman we found who was more professional and responsive to our needs.
Bottom line - the cost of the Big Deal coupon was decent - as was the service, but not anything special. However - the 6 hours of work purchased resulted in about 4 - 4 1/2 (including what I estimate to have been a reasonable amount of time to go to the store and back).

Owner came out after hours on two days notice to inspect the situation with the structure issue in basement, he went back and researched various options for the fix, contacted me with throughout the process and provided a factual written report with attached quote on all options available to me. Contractor made a special call to make sure that I understood the options in detail and was 100% satisfied. I used the contractor to make the fix I was happy with and the entire process from beginning to end was awesome. I am pleased to see a company take on the project from cradle to grave and accept nothing less than a superior performance

We are very happy with our new kitchen and room addition. We would recommend and use
Naperville Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
again. They were courteous, professional and arrived on time.
From beginning to end, we upgraded our entire kitchen – including appliances, cabinets, countertops, flooring, lighting and plumbing. The new room incorporated similar finishes to the kitchen and makes for a great entertaining space for guests as well as family. Now that project is complete, we have really taken notice of their quality work as compared to our other rooms.
In the end,
Naperville Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
was attentive to what we wanted and worked to stay within our price range. The options they provided us allowed to be selective and choose where we wanted to spend our remodeling dollars. They also gave us suggestions that we otherwise would have not considered. Given the many options, it was comforting to know they have been in the business for sometime (50 + years??).

was a joy to work with. He is very patient guy! Whatever came his way, he dealt with it professionally and maintained composure, whether it was us not being able to make a decision, or us changing our minds or if one of the contractors was not on schedule, he remained cool! He kept us abreast of the day to day schedule, what we could expect and again, if there were changes thru out the daily schedules, he would always communicate that to us. His team of contractors were very professional, very polite, very respectful of our home and the work that they were performing. All groups cleaned up after themselves. From start to finish, we have absolutely no complaints.

often offered his suggestions/opinions which seemed to help us in our decisions, again, based on his experience and knowledge. He is a very organized guy! With several projects going on at any given time, he was always very responsive and followed-thru with whatever he had scheduled.

is a very trustworthy businessman. There were many times that I was not in the home at times of work, he was available to either unlock/lock our home or be here in the home when he needed to be. He is a very hardworking guy. Day or night, he was always available, very responsive to phone calls and/or text messages. Overall, the price was reasonable and the quality of work was very, very good. We will not hesitate to contact

again if the need arises in regards to our home. Great experience!!!

was very punctual every time we had contact with him. This ranged from the first meeting to go over the project to the final cleanup and last minute of the project.
The work went quickly, and the load bearing wall removal was complete the first day. Drywall installation was the second day as well as the start of mud/tape.
The work was done quickly and they cleaned up the best they could, containing the dust to the workspace suprisingly well.
We had done the demo with the exception of the loadbearing wall, so that did help him out. He priced the job accordingly.
He worked with us and allowed my husband the extra time to do some work inside the walls before the drywall went back up.
I would use

and his crew were outstanding. Quality work, high attention to detail, no nickel and diming, patient with this sometimes indecisive client, and very pleasant to have in the house. Pricing was very straight-forward and inclusive. All told we had the following done:
Demo of two baths, the kitchen, the family room and stair railings
Some new electric
New can lights
Custom bookshelves
Cabinet install
Island install
New wood floors in kitchen and family room
New tile work in mudroom and half bath
Restained existing floors
Installed complete new bath with new tile work, floor, vanity, tub and fan
Installed complete half-bath with new tile work, floor and vanity
The project was probably about 7 weeks in all. Pictures tell the story.
