Wonderful experience. I couldn't be happier. They gave me a very fair bid for our project and a beautiful plan. I was so impressed with their punctuality. They showed up every single day exactly on time and worked really hard all day. They finished on the day they said they would, even with some rain one of the days. My yard was cleaned up perfect and no damage at all which was impressive considering how many palates of brick were hauled to my backyard for this large project. The finished product was even better than I anticipated, it looks beautiful. Arrowhead did a wonderful job, I couldn't have asked for a better experience. We are extremely happy, I wouldn't use anyone else. Great job!

We worked with
to design the patio and schedule the work. The crew arrived on time and finished the project in one day. They did a good job and we are already enjoying our patio. We liked working with
and we would definitely use Arrowhead in the future for other projects.
The one thing about the patio I am not happy with is the size of the drains that were put into the walls, they are not the same size. One is larger than the other.

Everything went smoothly once project began after start was delayed 4 weeks because of rainy conditions. As homeowners we removed an existing side walkway, removed a few bushes and modified the design of existing wood porch before the crew came.

, the owner/designer, suggested a 6' wide x 3' deep curved step & adding contrasting banding on the new 4' paver walkway which blends well with the new asphalt driveway and makes the

appeal pop!
The four person crew was excellent, very professional & pleasant to have around for 2 1/2 days. Because of all the intricate curves included in the design they came back on Saturday morning to finish our project & each one thanked us for the opportunity.

I am currently doing quite a bit of re-modeling to my house and
Naperville Patio Pavers Provider Name Locked
and his team are the only one of 9 different contractors to whom I can give an almost unqualified A.
Naperville Patio Pavers Provider Name Locked
met me several times prior to the work to assess design, brick choice,

design. He was also on site for a time almost every day to inspect the work and spent a lot of effort at the beginning of the project determining how to re-design the patio once

had marked utilities. The

is constructed by a different company with whom he contracts, but it was up in a day.
Naperville Patio Pavers Provider Name Locked
came when he said he would and his men worked diligently and professionally. The price was the most reasonable of the serious offers I received and he stayed within it. I found him to be absolutely trustworthy and would recommend him in a heartbeat (which I did!).
If there were any
Naperville Patio Pavers Provider Name Locked
down, they were for the following:
Naperville Patio Pavers Provider Name Locked
didn't seem to realize that Naperville had recently changed its rules and now requires Permits for gazebos (I discovered this myself while looking for kitchen permits). However, he then did all the work to get the permit and the start was only marginally delayed.
A lot of brick needed to be cut and there was dust over the windows and siding of the rear of the house. I will need to get the windows professionally cleaned.
The crew left a small series of 5 stones on the seating wall unglued and did not the best job of clearing up my yard afterward. However, when I called
Naperville Patio Pavers Provider Name Locked
about this he came directly himself and did it.
These minor things are not enough for me to take away from the overall A, especially given the experiences I am now having with some other contractors.

Many delays in starting the project due to TR SCAPES being busy with other projects. (4 months).
Installation of brick patio was done without correct pitch to slope water away from house. Every time it rains the water puddles in several areas over the patio including areas close to house foundation. First rain was about a month after job was completed.
Contacted TR Scapes 11/2010 with no response.
Front door stoop collapsed in late June 2012 due to improper installation.
TR Scapes,

(

) came to review the work per our phone request on 7/1/12.
He offered to drill holes in the patio to allow water to escape which was not acceptable. They took no responsibility and would not honor the 10 year labor warranty stated in the work contract.
We filed a BBB claim in August 2012 and TR Scapes did not respond to BBB.
2/2013 we filed a complaint in small claims court Will County & won a judgement from TR Scapes for $4200 on 5/14/13, regarding work done on the patio.
The company has made no effort to pay the judgement. We filed for a disclosure of assets hearing which was held on 10/28/13 in Will County court.
We are scheduled to return to court on 11/25/13 per judge request, ordering TR Scapes to bring payment.
I've been a member of Angie's list for many years. How did this company make your list? I'm wondering what the vetting process with Angie's list. We are considering dropping our Angie's list membership due to this disappointing situation.

After researching companies on
Naperville Patio Pavers Provider Name Locked
and elsewhere, we chose 3-D Brick Pavers as we felt the quality of their work and guarantee made them a clear choice even though they were not our lowest bid.
Naperville Patio Pavers Provider Name Locked
,
Naperville Patio Pavers Provider Name Locked
, and
Naperville Patio Pavers Provider Name Locked
were fantastic to deal with in the design and follow up portions, and their crew (
Naperville Patio Pavers Provider Name Locked
,
Naperville Patio Pavers Provider Name Locked
and others) worked incredibly hard and with precision to create just what we wanted! On the hottest days of the summer, they arrived promptly and worked tirelessly excavating, leveling, and designing our new patio. We would highly recommend this company to anyone considering a paving project. Their professionalism, knowledge, follow through, and desire to provide 100% satisfaction sets them apart from so many other companies. The area Unilock design center, which we visisted on several occasions before choosing our product, inquired whom we had chosen to do our work. When we said 3-D Brick Pavers, they said: "Good choice; they are the best in the state!"
We have recommended them to our neighbors and would certainly use them again.

Not well. The company did not use polymeric sand, but instead used regular paving brick sand. This caused numerous gaps between the bricks.
Naperville Patio Pavers Provider Name Locked
said that because I didn't request the polymeric sand, he didn't use it. I would have thought he would have known that the gaps would have appeared if he didn't use the proper sand. He offered to replace the sand at cost, I didn't think I should have to pay for the sand twice. When power washing the bricks, numerous bricks were damaged;
Naperville Patio Pavers Provider Name Locked
said he didn't cause the chips, but they weren't there before the power washing. There are also numerous white spots in the sealant. I called the installer and he said the white spots are caused by moisture being under the sealant. Overall, I thought it was a very poor job. This is one of the rare occasions where I have had a bad experience with an Angie's list provider.

Design:
I gave a detailed design to Bill and he took dimensions from the back yard to come up with a final foot print. He worked with us adding and removing areas, walls and features to stay within our budget. He used his experience to tweak the fire pit location and some of the curves and shapes of the edges. Overall I was very happy with the final design.
Deck removal:
Two guys came over the weekend and removed the deck. They did a great job removing the
Naperville Patio Pavers Provider Name Locked
board from the house with minimal damage to the siding.
Patio Install:
Patio install went relatively well. There was a large tree stump under the proposed new patio. When we had the tree taken down and stump ground down (by another contractor) we assumed it would be no problem for the patio. Arrowhead said the first contractor did not grind down the stump far enough, so Arrowhead suggested we rent a stump grinder. We paid Arrow head an additional $350 to have them grind out the stump. In the end they still had to raise the entire patio about 4-5" above the existing grade. This made using our outdoor faucet a little awkward, but they took the initiative to do a brick cut out to facilitate the hose bend. Additionally, they recognized that the raised patio would impact the intake for the high efficiency furnace and added additional PVC fittings to re route it. They also graded from the patio to the lawn and applied sod.
I would have liked the patio to be flush with grade but in the end it worked out alright. Although, by raising the patio I believe they
incurred considerable cost savings that were not shared with us. Specifically their excavation costs were drastically reduced. We had requested and paid an additional $500 to have two steps off the house (not just one), so there was not an immediate drop step off the door. Since the entire patio was raised only one step was needed, reducing the amount of brick and labor for the step.
All and all the patio looks great and I am satisfied with overall patio results.
Fire pit:
Here comes the challenging part. In the contract they were supposed to run gas pipe from an existing outdoor line to the new brick fire pit. At final inspection I noticed that there were no terminations on the pipe such that I could easily connect my fire pit ring nor tie into the existing line as discussed during the design meeting. Additionally a tracer wire was never buried with the pipe. There was a bit of back and forth over scope and payment for a couple weeks.
Finally the owner stepped in worked with me, an experienced plumber and the city to rectify the situation. Arrowhead came back and ran the tracer wire under the bricks and moved the valve location in the fire pit. You cannot even tell bricks were removed and replaced.
Again despite a few set backs in cost and schedule the fire pit met code, passed inspection and looks great.
Conclusion:
As with any large project there were some obstacles, some arguments and some compromises. My advice would be to have the utilities ran prior or have Arrowhead work with their plumber and install the utilities with the patio. In the end they met the expectations of a detailed oriented engineer. I would use Arrowhead again and highly recommend them.
