Or, if a fall is detected, the NEW AUTOALERT BUTTON (exclusive to Philips Lifeline), will automatically place the call to the Lifeline 24/7 monitoring center. Lifeline is installed through a telephone land line and an electrical outlet. The Lifeline 1-800 phone number is programmed into the unit so when the button is pressed or a fall is detected, the Lifeline number is automatically dialed. The unit is placed in a central location of the home so when the Lifeline operator speaks through the speakerphone their voice will be heard throughout the house. Or, for the hearing impaired, an additional unit can be installed. If a power outage should occur, the unit has a 30 hour battery backup.
