"I was happy with the work he performed, which is why I had him come back to do another job. He was punctual and professional. Mr. Loibl has a nice machine that" will get out the entire stump and all the surface roots. You can even replant another tree in the same spot if you want to. His price was very competitive, especially considering the thoroughness of his work. I wouldn't hesitate to hire him again.

always shows up on time and is extremely professional. He knocked on the door to let me know he was here, introduced meto the workers with" him and then got to work. He climbed and dropped a large double maple tree behind our alpaca shed. He works carefully and leaves little mess behind him. He's done several trees in the past, and while we didn't have him chip this one he usually does and is very thorough. It is very clear that he's also working safely, which for me is the most important thing when trees are involved.

Hiring to trim trees? A how-to guide

Follow these tips to find a tree service that will clip with care and leave you with dollars for the rest of your landscape.

Tree Care and Services

Trees grow slowly so you can't afford to make a mistake by planting them in the wrong location or overlooking something that puts the tree at risk. Tree care is something most homeowners can do on their own, but an expert should be called if a tree is showing signs of disease or if limbs need to be removed.

If a neighbor's tree is damaging your home or property, you could be faced with several options. Start by learning what your local laws are.

Angie's Answers

I would strongly suggest sending your neighbors a certified letter stating that, per your earlier conversation, you consider this tree to be a hazard due to its proximity to the power lines.  Then, when and if something bad does happen, you will have a record of having informed them of it and they won't be able to say "we didn't know."

You say the county has told you it is the neighbor's problem.  Did you contact the local electric company?  They should care very much about the situation.

I would also recommend taking lots of pictures showing the proximity of the tree to the wires and that it is obviously dead.

Dead trees do sometimes stay vertical for a very long time, but it sounds like a tense situation for you.  I understand your desire to not inflame the situation, but it doesn't sound like there is anything more you can do that won't have the potential to do so.  So it becomes your responsibility to look after your own interests in the most reasonable way possible.

For my money, never ? I do a walk-around yearly in the summer (when easy to work on and before the heavy fall winds in our area) and look for trees with dead crowns, losing branches everywhere but at the crown, brown branches (evergreens) or leafless branches, leaning trees, trees with visible rot, trees with major bark loss, trees with seriously damaged or eroded away roots, etc. If none of those symptoms, then I call our 100 or so trees good for the year.

Of course, the bigger the trees and the likelihood of house damageor powerline loss (especially in winter) if there is a major branch or tree fall comes into play also. I trim and cut my own trees when needed regardless of size, so my level of confidence in being able to handle anything comes into it.

If you are worried about one or more trees, call an arborist to check them out - then I would say unless there is evidence of damage - ESPECIALLY leaning trees or major branches not leafing like the rest of the tree - I would not worry having them looked at more frequently than every 10 years or so.

Tree Service reviews in Moline

I contacted them on a Saturday. Then came out and gave me written cost on Monday at 11:00 am. When I returned from work at 4:00 pm they had done the job, cleaned up, and were gone. Same day service. I got what I wanted with excellent service. I would recommend them to anyone who needs tree service.

After contacting
Moline Tree Services Provider Name Locked
through Angie's list about trying to set up an estimate,
Moline Tree Services Provider Name Locked
texted me back to let me know he could do the estimate from a photo with a tape measure for reference. He contacted me back the same day with the quote, and once I'd agreed, he told me he would put me on the schedule. He called Friday and left me a message to apologize for not coming out sooner, but the weather had been too bad to do the removal (it rained most of the week, so that is absolutely true.) He told me he would have a crew out on Saturday to remove the tree. The crew showed up within the window given, 9:30 to 10:30 am on Saturday morning, and had the tree down and cleaned up in less than an hour.
I was relieved, as I tried to get another contractor out earlier, but after agreeing to do an estimate, he did not return my call.

kept in contact until the job was done, and then contacted me back to make sure everything was good. We will absolutely consider him again for any future tree work.

From scheduling to execution, everything went well. the trees were in a residential area, and the crew took extra care in re-directing pedestrian traffic in a professional way. the work was done within deadlines and to our satisfaction.

Excellent communication, planning, and execution.
The owner and members of the crew are certified arborists and excellent at their craft -- we're very pleased with the work.
