Pool Cleaning reviews in Marshall
I received an estimate for the work the next day and decided to move forward with the project. I went down to the showroom to select the tiles and pavers and was greeted by friendly and knowledgeable staff. The selection was large so I had many choices within my estimated budget.
Once the permits were pulled, the work began immediately. The
I can't say enough about this company and the positive experience I had dealing with all the staff. Kudos to
We had remodeled our other bathrooms the year before with another company which also did very good work but they charged much more. Nir and his crew did just as well but at lower cost. I would strongly recommend.
When company representative ( of the scope of work. Big project, respectable estimation of time pool would be out of service, etc. He told my husband and I it would be about two weeks before the quote would be mailed. Unfortunately we never got that quote, even after substantial efforts to contact the company and having given them several chances (and additional weeks) to provide he quote. That in and of itself is another ridiculous series of unprofessional events.
First, I contacted the office after I did not receive quote at the end of the initial two week period. LGPS said that due to current high volume of repairs for customers needing work performed immediately they were a bit behind.
Then we waited another two weeks (one month later now) and contacted the office, they said they were "swamped" but would hopefully have the quote by the end of the week. No quote was received. After a total of six weeks and weekly check ins we still have nothing. This is a major project of 30k+ so obviously we want several bids to compare and analyze, and would assume that companies would want a job of this scale.
Called them again on Monday and asked about the quote, same response. I told them that if they didn't have the bid to me by Friday then don't bother. Come Friday, still no quote so I called again ... and was then asked what my name and phone number was...
I have zero faith that a job of this scale can be performed in a timely or professional manner by LGPS.
Avoid this company at all costs if the following things are important to you when choosing a contractor: reliability, professional courtesy, respect, timeliness, communication, and organization.
to discuss all of the various pool options with us.
As the owner of the
company, he was very knowledgeable and prepared.
He helped us decide what was right for us. His wife
and business partner,
any additional questions we had.. Their staff
did a wonderful job with the installation. The price of the
whole job was very reasonable in comparison to other
pool companies, whose owner's only e-mailed us
high priced estimates and never took the time
to meet with us. We are very pleased with work
and the service that
and are enjoying our pool.
Negatives: Had a few issues with weekly service before the main event (see below). One issue involved our pool not circulating right after service. We had them out to problem-solve and they determined the pool was not circulating due to a failure to backwash after the prior service (I was charged for the weekly service as well as the 'fix').
Main event: I decided to check the chemical levels of our pool since I started to feel like my arms were itchy/burning after using the pool. Test strips showed everything to be in order except chlorine, which was at least at 10ppm (maybe more; the test strips wouldn't go any higher).. According to the test kit & Google, pools should generally be kept btwn 1-3ppm, and you should never swim in anything over 6. 10ppm is the level you put in for a shock treatment, where they leave you a notice saying 'hey - don't swim here for a day or two.' (This was normal service; not a shock treatment.).
Panicked, I contacted customer service to let them know, and ask how this could possibly have happened. No serious response other than "test strips might be inaccurate" or "we'll be sure to lower chlorine levels next time," and "you mainly have to be concerned about low levels of chlorine; not high levels."
- They did not immediately have management call me. (I had to request it 4-5 days after the fact)
- They did not immediately offer to have someone out to double check the chlorine content with their own equipment.
Concerned that the test strips might indeed have been inaccurate (and frankly, hopeful), I purchased an expensive
At this point I cancelled service, requested credit for the unusable pool, and asked to speak to management. Management called, and to their credit apologized. However -- they still offered no explanation of how it could have happened (simply offering the analogy to sports, "sometimes we hit things out of the park and sometimes we don't -- in this case I guess we didn't,) and seemed a bit unconcerned about the idea that high chlorine levels could be harmful.
Conversation went something like,
"Hey -- our chlorine levels were at 10ppm or more; that's hazardous to human health."
"Very sorry.. not sure how that could have happened. The guy that did your pool is our most requested guy. He's our main go-to chemical guy. Really friendly; always comes in with a smile. We never get complaints about his pools."
"I'm sure very few people check their chemical levels when they pay for weekly service."
"Well his pools are always sparkling. People *request* the guy since his pools sparkle so much and never ever turn green."
"don't you think the reason they don't turn green and sparkle so much is because he's putting hazardous levels of chlorine in them?"
"You know, you really just need to be concerned about when a pool turns green; that's when it's dangerous. Higher levels of chlorine really are just going to burn your eyes."
"Actually - you can get a chemical burn from swimming in high levels of chlorine, and I personally had arms that felt like they were on fire for a few days. You guys are dealing with hazardous chemicals here."
So yeah. They did apologize; they offered a $200 credit (which I personally found low). And I'm just hopeful there's no long term damage.
TLDR: Chlorine levels were at levels hazardous to human health; didn't feel management responded quickly enough or seemed to think it was a serious issue.
