"I have seen seeing
for about 7 months. She does an excellent job and has helped out with my symptoms quite a bit. She is very personable" and knowledgeable in her field. She is really good with people and scheduling has been no problem. She has always been able to accommodate my needs.

"I had about 5 treatments with Dr
. I started in September 2014 and had weekly appointments. Dr
was very encouraging" that he could help me and I was having positive changes in my face and was beginning to have movement in parts of my face that I had not had before. I was really getting results. On my last visit the routine was the same. I was assigned a room, got into a gown and Dr.
came in and gave me some dry herbs to swish in my mouth prior to treatment. He applied multiple needles to my face and body. I was laying on my back and relaxing and I usually wait about 15 -20 minutes for Dr.
to return to remove the needles then do acupuncture on my back then follow up with cupping and massage. This time I waited and seemed to be more than 20 minutes. There was not a clock in room and I didn't have my phone so I just judged that it was about time. I fell asleep not sure how long I was out but my back was beginning to hurt laying on the flat table. No one came to check on me so I figured I was just anxious. I then began to hear a woman crying in another room and heard both Dr.
and his wife talking and trying to reassure her. I figured I'd be next as Dr.
was in the next room. I waited and fell asleep again waking up needing to use the restroom. I was really starting to get anxious for someone to help me as not knowing the time, I had to pick up my little girl up at 2:25pm from PreK. I could not yell for assistance nor get up as the needles in my face and body restricted me from being able to talk or get up. My bladder couldn't wait and I pulled needles from my body so I could get up to check my phone for the time. The time was 1:45pm! My appointment started at 11:30am. my appointment usually lasts about an hour and I had been restrained by the acupuncture needles for over 2 hours. I quickly removed all the needles, got dress and opened the door and went to reception area to talk to Mrs.
but she was not there. I walked down the hall way and all the doors were closed and I could hear Dr.
inside one of the rooms with another patient. I used the bathroom and left to pick up my daughter from school. I was expecting to get a phone call from Dr.
or his wife that afternoon or the next day. No one called. They new who I was. I had developed a patient relationship and raport with them but no phone call for explanation or apology. I was disappointed with the care on my last visit but especially disappointed that no one called me to inquire on my health, explain or apologize.

Many turn to acupuncture as an alternative medicine to aid illness and relieve stress. This treatment is even covered by some insurance companies.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture may sound new to some, but the Chinese have practiced this form of alternative medicine for more than 2,000 years to relieve pain and treat a variety of conditions.

Choosing an acupuncturist is similar to choosing other health care providers. Make sure the person has the training and experience to treat your condition and is someone with whom you're comfortable.

If the naturopath also has the MD credential then every plan will cover them. They choose to take insurance or not, all providers have to sign up with insurance plans for reimbursement. Unfortunately if they are a Doctor of Naturopathy, without other medical credentials you will have a difficult time finding coverage. An MD typically goes through 4 years of undergrad, 4 years of Medical school, 3 years of residency and then potentially 2 - 4 years of specialty training on top of that. Not many Naturopaths go through that type of education. MDs also have to work on cadavers, some other health care practitioners do this as well, but not many. Naturopaths offer valuable services. If you have a Naturopath MD in mind, then it is simple because they will have registered with insurance companies to accept payments. They will know what plans they accept payment from. As a pharmacist one of my classmates in addition to a doctorate in pharmacy also had a doctorate in that area. As a pharmacist we are also not covered by most insurance plans to have a "practice" reimbursement. We work on a fee-for-service basis or contract with specific plans or employers to offer their people our services. We work with individuals and provide their providers the information about our consults.

Some naturopaths, dieticians, pharmacists, chiropractors, and acupuncturists work within a physician practice - this is sometimes referred to as an integrated or integrative model. The fee for a naturopath is most often "fee for service."   I hope this helps, best of luck finding the practitioner you are seeking.

Yes, she is both an MD and a certified acupuncturist. I didn't pay for my 2 visits (the cost was covered by someone else), so I can't talk about whether or not her rates are reasonable. But she had such a holistic approach to my concerns - I have rarely felt so well and thoroughly cared-for as when I was on her table. I do plan to schedule additional sessions with her, which I will be paying for myself.
