We purchased the tile in advance.
Homer Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
demoed the existing tile and did a very professional job of retailing with glass mosaic and bullnose. He is professional, tidy and courteous, communicates well and works quickly and efficiently. I would definitely use

I did a ~ $25,000 kitchen remodel and decided to hire all the contractors myself to save money and to hand pick the individuals. Out of everyone I hired (custom cabinets and granite, tiler, electrician, plumber) I am most happy with
Homer Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
Work. When
Homer Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
came to my house to give me a bid, he said he wouldn't be the cheapest, but he would be the best. I definitely found that to be the case.
Homer Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
is very precise in his craft and takes pride in his work. He took twice as long as I expected because he made sure everything was done perfectly (I had no complaints about that!) My house is 120 years old and at one point it became obvious that he would need to level the floor before laying the tile. When the cabinet guys came out to measure for the cabinets they were really impressed at how level my floor was, especially when I told them that
Homer Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
had actually leveled it. Everyone else that I hired had multiple people working for them. So, I had multiple plumbers come over, multiple electricians, and many many cabinet people. When I had problems, it was such a hassle to get things fixed or changed ("yes, I see there's a scratch in the granite I just installed, but I'm just the installer, there's nothing I can do about it", "oh, yes, I see that the bill for the plumbing is incorrect, that's because there were two different plumbers who came out and the charges should have been combined and compared to the original estimate"- I am still waiting for a correct bill for the plumbing three weeks later). At the end, everything was taken care of, but it ended up taking up a lot of my time and almost makes me wish I had hired a general contractor!
Homer Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
, on the other hand, works for himself. He said that at one point he did have other guys working for him, but it ended up taking up more of his time because he wanted to meticulously check everyone's work to make sure it was up to his standards. When I had questions about different tile choices or grout color or even to tell him about my availability, he was easy to get in touch with, I always talked to him directly, and he was always quick to respond. That alone made it worth it to hire him. He was the one person that I didn't have to worry about and check up on. I gave him a key and the days I was gone, he let himself in, did his work, and left everything taken care of. And, after he was done, there was nothing that needed fixing or changing. All in all, I am very happy with my kitchen, and very happy with my tile! The floor looks great, and the white subway backsplash looks stunning! I have gotten many compliments. I highly recommend
Homer Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
. If I ever need more tile work done I won't hesitate to call them again.

Homer Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
was very professional, helpful, punctual and just a great guy to work with on this project. He is very creative and offers suggestions on design, tile to select and even where to purchase. I was impressed with his work and most important he was easy to work with throughout the entire process. I would highly recommend
Homer Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
for any tile job you are planning to do!!
Note: Price included labor and materials for a medium sized (35sq ft) kitchen backsplash, so it will vary project to project, but pricing was fair!

Not Well! As part of the estimate I paid to have appliances moved. Keep that in mind. Day one:
Homer Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
sent his son,
Homer Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
and another worker,
Homer Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
over to remove quarter round, cut down door jambs and install durock (a type of hardy board). During this process
Homer Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
was sure that the refrigerator could not be moved without removing the island. I assured him that the island was in place when the refrigerator was delivered, but he insisted that there was no way. So my husband and I had to pull it out to show him that it would in fact clear the island. Once we got it out in the open for them, they used a furniture mover to pull it out of their way. In the process of doing so, they put four very visible indentions on the side of the refrigerator because they did not use anything to cushion or prevent it from coming in contact with the furniture mover. I pointed this out to
Homer Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
immediately and he said that he was going to let
Homer Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
know. Apparently he did not do that. Later in the day, they had worked around to where the
Homer Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
was located.
Homer Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
refused to move the
Homer Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
because it was gas and he does not mess with gas, so I had to have my son come over to disconnect the gas line and move the
Homer Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
into the living room. At this point I was really starting to get anxious because they still had to move the very heavy front load washer and dryer. But we will come back to that. Day two:
Homer Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
starts laying the tiles. At this time I point that I think the door jambs may have been cut too short.
Homer Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
says that it happens sometimes due to the variations in the saw and the floor but assures me that finished product will look fine. Day three:
Homer Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
is supposed to be here at 9:00, but does not show up until well after noon. He finishes laying the tile, except under the washer/dryer which will have to be done on Monday. Day four:
Homer Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
and
Homer Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
return to grout the floor and put the remainder of the tile down under the washer/dryer. I have the pedestals under the washer/dryer. I have explained to them that it has to be moved as a unit because of the way that it was put together upon delivery. I know this because one of the units had to be replaced shortly after delivery and they were unable to get them apart at that time and I am sure that nothing has changed since then. Even after I tell them this, they were going to try to separate the appliance from the pedestals! I had to get a little more stern with them before they decided that they would move them in tandem.

Now we move on to the grouting...which I should tell you that I was charged $57.25 per bag for three bags of this power grout that is supposed to be the best of the best, but is very hard to work with. Well let me just tell you, that grout was everywhere! It was on my baseboards, cabinets and walls. I cleaned for three days after they left trying to get that off of all surfaces.
Homer Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
comes over to get his payment, I tell him that the work is not done yet and I will pay upon completion. So he decides to stick around and help out to move the process along. During this time I again point out that the door jambs look terrible. He says he will put caulk down to cover any imperfections. It looked hideous! I was not happy. Day five: Upon further inspection of the tile and grout and caulk, my husband and I called
Homer Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
to let him know that we were unhappy. He makes arrangements to come over and talk to us about our concerns. When he came over and I tried to explain to him that the door jambs were a major concern and told him that I would like for them to be fixed, he said "The only way to do that is to replace them and I am NOT going to do that" I then pointed out a few other things to which he replied "Oh so now we are going to have a punch list!" at this point I ask my husband to take him outside to talk because things were heading south. I called one of my neighbors over to be an unbiased third party and invited
Homer Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
back in. When the neighbor told him that it looked like crap too, he decided to talk a little more reasonably. He agreed that some of the cuts were bad and that he would come over and remove all the caulk and replace the tiles that were just bad cuts. There was at least one tile that was not even slid under the door jambs that had been but too short! I did have two other tile installers come over and they both pointed out several things that were done incorrectly that I would have never known. They both also let me know that the expensive power grout was absolute overkill and were not sure that there was even a difference if we would have used regular grout with the power boost.
Homer Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
did come back and remove all the caulk and replace one tile. He put some kind of filler in the chips that had been made to all the door trim and baseboards and left us a sanding block to sand off the excess. I ended up having to hire a painter to come in and repair all that and re-paint which cost me an additional $237. I am now fighting with his insurance company about the refrigerator replacement or compensation for repairs. I would also like to point out that on the day that he came to do the repairs he told us that he was going to try to get his insurance company to replace our refrigerator with a new one and ask us to sign a paper stating that he could have our damaged one so that he could sell it on craigslist and recoup some his deductible. My husband, myself and a friend were all here and heard this. I am so glad that it was not just my word against his in this case. In retrospect, I wish I would have gone through Lowes or Home Depot because both are large companies and they would have stood behind their sub-contractors work and made it right.

The caulking in our shower was in very bad shape and had gaps in it, and we decided it was time to have it torn out and redone. I found
Homer Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
via Angie's List, and sent an electronic request for a quote. I got a prompt response, and set up a time and day for them to come out and do an estimate. While I was not present for the estimate,
Homer Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
got a good report from my husband;
Homer Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
said that we would receive the quote by the following day via email. When it arrived, we were satisfied with the estimate, but I noticed that the company was offering a special deal for Angie's List customers: $100 worth of re-caulking or re-grouting work for $50. I called
Homer Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
to ask about this deal and to schedule our service, and
Homer Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
was very responsive. She gave me clear instructions as to how the deal worked (it is purchased via Angie's List, which I had never done before) and advised that she would be sending out new documentation once they received notification of my purchase; those things arrived as promised. We were able to set up the appointment for the day that worked best for us, which was wonderful.
Homer Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
called ahead to let me know that his earlier job was running a little late, and gave me an accurate estimate as to his ETA at our house. Once he arrived and got to work, he was able to finish the job in approx. 60-90 minutes, and true to the estimate, our balance (the $50 deal had already been purchased) due that day was exactly what it should have been. As promised, our receipt arrived via email that evening.
The shower looks beautiful--it didn't even look this good when we bought the house! We're very happy with it and are glad not to have to worry about leaks or mold due to an improper caulk application going forward. Although
Homer Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
's workmanship speaks for itself, we wanted to make sure to note how nice, professional, and friendly he was. He was also very kind to our pets, which goes a long way at our house!
Homer Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
was also a delight to work with, and she made things very easy for us with respect to scheduling and using the coupon they were offering. We would absolutely hire
Homer Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
again!

was excellent! He actually drove me to the tile place so I could pick out my tile. He did extra work and installed sheet rock because one of my walls had water problems. He's professional but has wonderful "people skills". He's a great guy I would highly recommend and will use again.

A small project bloomed into a bigger one - not every homeowner's favorite news! But
Homer Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
and
Homer Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
are the hardest working people in the business, and they care enough to get the job right. After resigning myself to move from repair to renovation, I was confident the work was approached sincerely and expertly. I'd call them again for an entirely different type of home repair.
