"Their office staff is professional and friendly. My schedule is hectic and they were very accommodating. The tech,
was very professional" in his phone conversations. When he arrived (almost to the minute for our appointment), he let us know what our options were for the service and proceeded to clean the interior of our piano. Our piano has been in the family for over a hundred years and I was not expecting much out of it. He found the broken part and gave us a quote for returning to install it. When he finished the cleaning and tuning, he played a short piece on it. I'd never heard the piano sound so good. We had seriously thought that one day we would replace it, but he explained that this was a very good piano. Since it is a family heirloom and it sounds amazing, I think we'll keep it. I would recommend their service to anyone with a piano.

-Lee S.

is competent, answered all my questions, and was a joy to have in the house. He's respectful about your house, and made sure he left" it the way he found it. I finally have my piano back in mint condition! I'm so glad I found him!

Musical instrument repair

If you already own or are thinking about owning a musical instrument, you'll need to factor in the cost of repair and maintenance for that instrument. Even the most carefully played instrument will require some amount of upkeep over the years. Luckily, if you have your instrument regularly serviced, you're less likely to run into costly repairs down the road.

Musical Instrument Repair reviews in Hickory Hills

I’ve been using him for a couple of years. He’s super prompt, friendly, calls to confirm the appointment in advance, and doesn’t charge a trip charge. I appreciate his knowledge and professionalism. He’s a technician as well as a tuner and he knows what he’s doing. It normally takes around an hour for him to do the work. Considering his pedigree as a piano tuner and the other clients that he works for, I feel very lucky to have him, especially at his rates. I also like that he will schedule the appointment six months in advance, although he doesn’t require that.

I am very pleased with how the piano sounds!

was very professional and superb to deal with.
Hickory Hills Guitar Repairs Provider Name Locked
called to say he was running a little late for our appointment but would be here within a half hour. The tuning took about 1.5 hours. He recommended that because of the age of our piano that we have the action fixed in Artisan's shop. I will schedule that soon. I will also have Artisan tune our piano in the future as long as they honor their coupon on Angie's List.

My piano had not been tuned since 1986. It was moved from Pennsylvania to Seattle in 2007. My daughter started playing on it in 2012. Finally, I got around to having it tuned in 2014. I was worried that the tuning would cost much more, because there would be all kinds of things wrong with it. But
Hickory Hills Guitar Repairs Provider Name Locked
was very helpful, understanding, and efficient. He tuned the whole thing for the regular rate, and just recommended a follow-up tuning several months later (which other piano tuners had also recommended). He let us watch, and explained the insides of the piano to the kids. Super nice guy.

Not only does
Hickory Hills Guitar Repairs Provider Name Locked
keep my piano sounding great, he also keeps an eye out for the extra kinds of maintenance things that will help my piano have a long, healthy life. Several years ago when my son was at the age where he was trying to quit lessons
Hickory Hills Guitar Repairs Provider Name Locked
worked on the action to give the piano a softer touch, and voila! About half of the

over playing disappeared. I've had several piano techs in the 25 years I have owned my piano and
Hickory Hills Guitar Repairs Provider Name Locked
is the best, by far. He offers an discount if you sign up for a regular piano tuning schedule.

Hickory Hills Guitar Repairs Provider Name Locked
is a complete professional who takes great pride in his craft, whether moving or working on a good piano like the
Hickory Hills Guitar Repairs Provider Name Locked
we owned for several months, or on a magnificent instrument like our 1923 Steinway. As his work on our Steinway was far more important to me, I'll concentrate on that.
Hickory Hills Guitar Repairs Provider Name Locked
understood that I had played this piano from childhood and that I was devastated when it was declared beyond repair. He was sensitive to my uncertainties about how a rebuild would
Hickory Hills Guitar Repairs Provider Name Locked
out, and he kept me updated and reassured throughout the process. Ultimately, I realized that
Hickory Hills Guitar Repairs Provider Name Locked
loves my piano almost as much as I do and treats it accordingly. The piano looks, sounds, and feels fabulous again, and
Hickory Hills Guitar Repairs Provider Name Locked
will keep it that way through the multiple tunings it needs in this first year as a rebuild, and beyond. While I expected that
Hickory Hills Guitar Repairs Provider Name Locked
would also need to voice the Steinway once it was back in our home, it is entirely to his credit that he had anticipated so well that the voicing was already perfect by the time he delivered it.
Hickory Hills Guitar Repairs Provider Name Locked
is the kind of craftsmen that is becoming rarer and rarer, one who can reliably and sensitively do whatever a piano needs, and we are lucky he works in our area.

I contacted
Hickory Hills Guitar Repairs Provider Name Locked
by email and he responded quickly. He was able to schedule me on a Saturday, which I always appreciate. He had to reschedule a couple times because he was getting changing requests to tune
Hickory Hills Guitar Repairs Provider Name Locked
's piano before his concert that night! If I had a busier day I would've just rescheduled for a different day, but it was fine to just have him come whenever he was done with
Hickory Hills Guitar Repairs Provider Name Locked
's piano. I mean, I understand that piano needs to be tuned more urgently than mine :)
He arrived on time and was able to diagnose the problem (broken string) repair it and bring the whole piano back to tune. I hadn't had it tuned in about 8 years (my bad) so while it was tune overall it was flat overall. The process took about 2 hours. He used some modern tech for the tuning process. I'm not exactly a concert pianist so I can't speak to the quality of the tune – I'm sure it's solid, especially if he's the go-to piano tuner for

I intend to call him again for more regular piano tuning in the future.

I took my brother's 25-year old Fender acoustic guitar in to replace the first string's tuning gear. These were "closed" gears, meaning it was completely housed. It had stripped and you could not tune the string. My brother finally wanted the instrument back and I wanted to repair it before giving it to him. I thought this would be a relatively
Hickory Hills Guitar Repairs Provider Name Locked
repair. One, in fact, that I could probably do myself, but decided to have
Hickory Hills Guitar Repairs Provider Name Locked
do it because I have four other acoustic guitars and three electrics that need service sometimes, and two of which need some repair work. Thought the Fender would provide a good test. And did it ever. For starters, I could not buy just ONE gear, let alone an OEM or clone. They came in sets of three. Because I wanted them to all match, I had to replace all six. Okay, fine. I was more bothered by the fact that they were not OEM. I had no idea what quality I was getting, but for the price was satisfied they'd be 'okay' replacements. I took the guitar in on a Wed. evening after work and being right around Christmas, the place was packed. I found the service counter and told the 'kid' there what I wanted to have done. He said no problem, they had the gears in stock. I asked that he also replace the strings with a specific brand and gauge, again no problem, and that I needed to pick the guitar up that Saturday because I was leaving town with it on that Sunday. And again, no problem with meeting that delivery date. So, all is well, right? Two+ days, parts in stock, should be a no-brainer. That Thursday tho', I get a call... gears were not in stock, but were ordered and on their way. Guitar will be ready Saturday, around noon. Now, probably my fault for not calling first, but I headed out there around 11:30 to 119th (from 83rd &
Hickory Hills Guitar Repairs Provider Name Locked
, so not terribly far), and again the place was packed now being
Hickory Hills Guitar Repairs Provider Name Locked
. 20. I went to the service desk and learned that the guitar wasn't ready after all. In fact, wouldn't be ready until much later in the day, and could I come back around 5. I stomped around a bit quite put out and told them again that I MUST have it TODAY as I was leaving town at 8 the next morning. But, yeah, go ahead. So... at about 5, I head back. Again, the place is packed. Again the kid at the service desk checks and, no, the guitar is not up there ready to be picked up. "Where is it?", I asked. "Uh... I'll go check.", he replies. So he disappears somewhere for about 10, maybe 15 minutes. Comes back with the guitar, in it's case. He starts the checkout process, while I have to clear some space on their crowded countertop so I could
Hickory Hills Guitar Repairs Provider Name Locked
the case down and open it. To my horror, no strings on it. No gears on it. "Uh, 'scuse me, but we have a problem here..." So... to wrap up this story, he takes the guitar and case, disappears for another 20 or so minutes, finally comes back up and the gears are FINALLY on it. But no strings. I told him I needed it strung up too. "Uh, what kind of strings did you want?"
Hickory Hills Guitar Repairs Provider Name Locked
, thought I'd covered that when I dropped it off 3 days ago... but, okay... I need a set of
Hickory Hills Guitar Repairs Provider Name Locked
' light gauge. So, he strings it up and while doing so, I'm checking the case. "Uh...I don't see the original tuning gears in here. I'm going to need those back." So... off he goes again to retrieve these, hopefully. Finally, after about an hour., the guitar is ready with new gears, new strings, old gears in the case. They have it for 3 days and don't do a thing to it until I'm standing there waiting for it for the second time that day. Really??? So, I have a 1975
Hickory Hills Guitar Repairs Provider Name Locked
Dove that needs set-up work, new strings, and my '74 Ovation Legend also needs set-up and strings. There is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY, EVER, that I would take either one of those guitars to
Hickory Hills Guitar Repairs Provider Name Locked
for ANY kind of repair. I will NEVER go back for ANY guitar repair or parts, even for a cheap acoustic. EVER!
Hickory Hills Guitar Repairs Provider Name Locked
is fine if you want to buy gear. In fact, I highly recommend them even if their prices can be easily beat online. (But seriously folks, do not buy a guitar online. You MUST pick it up, hold it, play it.) But don't bother taking anything in for service. You can do better and deserve better for your instruments.

My amplifier stopped working and I took it to
Hickory Hills Guitar Repairs Provider Name Locked
for repair -
Hickory Hills Guitar Repairs Provider Name Locked
found a component that was an incorrect value and replaced it with one with the correct spec and also replaced a fuse that had blown - he also went through the amp and cleaned up the connections. He detailed the troubleshooting and all of his work on the invoice! (which I really appreciated)
Hickory Hills Guitar Repairs Provider Name Locked
has many years of experience repairing musical amplifiers and other components and would highly recommend him for anyone needing their gear serviced!
