was visiting me. I urgently called several repair companies and Cool
Air were the first to respond. They came over on time but unfort.
totally ripped me off. They replaced the compressor capacitor and motor
capacitors with terrible quality Chinese ones - and one of them was
USED. They charged $185 for the comp cap and $145 for the motor cap.
These parts cost $10 new online. They replaced the motor with an
incorrect Chinese one which was too low in the unit - they charger $675
for the motor - new it costs $75 online. They charged $195 to adjust the
freon and also added a "Power Booster" item to the bill - which I have
never seen in the unit. The total was $1695! They knew I was up against
my 70 year old mother and a 88 degree house and took advantage of me. I
fought them to get a discount the following day after I read the invoice
and read online about exactly what they had replaced. They took $200
off the bill. I paid $1495. Yesterday the unit failed again. 2 months
since they repaired it. I called in another company and they were
AMAZING. They replaced the terrible Chinese capacitors and the noisy
incorrect motor, cleaned the unit thoroughly and charged $250!
I called Liberty and they took my information saying the soonest they had was 2 weeks, but they would see what they could do.

The arrived 3 minutes after the agreed upon time. Not only is that on-time, but as with many service calls I call that early! The gentleman was polite, friendly, and professional. I took him through the house to show him where the dryer was and showed him that it actually vented up through the roof. He said this was no problem at all. He pulled around the back and brought in his tools and ladder to my interior courtyard area. He completed the checkup of the HVAC unit on the roof then looked at the heat pump in the attic. My place is pretty new so there was nothing that needed to be done he said. Then he moved the dryer, hooked up his vacuum unit to the both ends of the vent (remember, one is on the roof as is my actual HVAC unit) and completed the vent cleaning. Afterwards he put everything back the way it was before he started.
I got a written checklist of everything inspected and he was able to answer my questions about service contracts (they offer one with 2 tune-ups/inspections a year for $159 and that will get you %15 off any necessary parts I believe).
So not only was he on time and thorough but I felt he was honest and very quick (whole visit was probably a little over and hour).
I would not hesitate to do business with this company again!!

The 2 technicians showed up early and went to work quickly
removing the old unit outside. I was even able to go to work that
morning as they said they would call me when they needed to get in to
replace the air handler. Several hours later they gave me a call saying
they would be ready to go start on the inside. I took a long lunch
break, and the job was done.
We think we're the best, and we can prove it.
