Drain Cleaning Reviews in Evanston

Returned phone message promptly on the day after Christmas. Hours, later
arrived and were courteous (removed their snowy boots) and professional. They speedily completed the work and cleaned up after themselves. I've hired
before and will do so again.
- Joshua R.

I can home to about an inch of water in my laundry room. I called
and they sent someone out right away who determined the sewer needed to be rodded ($400). They had rodded my sewer only 10 months ago but part of the problem was that I only had an inside access point so the sewer was not getting a thorough rodding each time. I have an older home with clay pipes and lots of trees so the sewer needs regular maintenance. After some consultation I decided to hire
to install an outside access point so that my sewer line could get properly cleaned each year in the hopes of avoiding having to replace the whole line.
was out marking where the sewer line was, I specifically asked the plumber what to expect. I was told they would dig a small hole, install the access point, get it inspected and then fill in the hole. When all was said and done, nothing would look different except for the access point. I was told this would happen on Friday when I was at work. I asked if I needed to be there for it and was told I didn't. I came home from work on Friday and half of my front yard was roped off with caution tape. There was an enormous pile of dirt (about 4 ft high and 10 ft wide) and over the big hole in the ground was a piece of plywood the size of a door. One of my shrubs had been dug up was was sitting on top of the ground off to the side. There were no workers around. I called
and asked what the status was and was told they could not get an inspector out until Monday so things were going to just sit.
I was upset because firstly this was not what I was told would happen and secondly no one bothered to call me and explain the situation. Apparently there was an option to pay an additional $100 to have an inspector come out after hours but again, no one called me to ask if that's something I wanted. I called and complained quite a bit. After a few phone calls, the plumber called me back and said there was nothing they could do until Monday but that they would put everything back the way it was before they started and that they would help pay for the landscaping costs if any were incurred. Great. I specifically asked the plumber to call me Monday morning and advise me of the status and he agreed.
Monday came and I received no call. I got home from work and the hole had been filled in but there was still a big pile of dirt and my shrub was haphazardly placed on the top. I again called upset and was told
was not responsible for any landscaping (even though this was contrary to what I was previously told) and that the pile had to be there as the dirt would settle over time. I called my landscaper who promptly came out and agreed with me that there was no way the large pile of dirt that was left would settle all the way back into the ground. I am now having to pay $100 to get some of the debris/dirt removed and my shrub replanted.
My complaint with
is this, that they managed this entire project absolutely terribly. If I had been given realistic expectations from the beginning, there would be no issue. However, everything I was told was underestimated and played down then I kept coming home to a big mess. No one bothered to call and explain the situation when it was contrary to what they originally told me. They did not follow up with me as I had requested. I am very disappointed in their customer service.
has been to my house several times in the past for various jobs and even installed a new water heater. When the water heater was installed, I had to get them to come back out and level it and fix the exhaust because they didn't do it right the first time.
is expensive and I don't mind paying for quality work and customer service. However, I will not be using
ever again. They convinced me to buy a membership because it would save me 15% on all services. However, this 15% is limited to $150 which they did NOT make clear when selling me the membership.

Drain Cleaning reviews in Evanston

I was up most the night using buckets to get rid of water in my basement. I woke up early to call plumbers. Many of the plumbers in my community were booked. After calling Village Plumbing they recommended

did route out some roots and other stuff but after routing for a while said he couldn't get further and needed to go. He said he would give me an estimate and went to his car. He came back and said it was an emergency but that he would be back on Monday and I would need half of the estimate down even though he did not know the estimate because of permits. He said he would bring the estimate later that day. He left claiming the water in my basement should go down slowly on it's own. I did get a quote from
Evanston Drain Plumbers Provider Name Locked
on Monday for 9,500.00. I called the city and they said they had thought it was not a problem with the sewer and thought it was probably a blockage. They said if I get another plumber to make sure they use a camera used to determine the problem.

Just this April, I called
Evanston Drain Plumbers Provider Name Locked
to clear my exterior grease trap and sewer line, which was blocked and backing up. I asked for them to start work the next day, though they offered to make a stop on the day I called, which would have been terrific, but I couldn't get away from work. The next day, as we arranged, they arrived, took a look at the situation and went right to work. Within an hour or so, my grease trap was drained, my sewer line was cleared (to the street) and video scoped to see confirm the cause of the problem-- and in the process determine that I did NOT have a broken/collapsed sewer pipe. My problem was an extreme root growth problem.
The guys --

With these gentlemen, you really have confidence that they could handle anything that would come up and they would have a great time solving the problem.
There's no question that I will be calling on them for some other plumbing projects this summer. With My Old House, I need the kind of expertise and experience they have-- along with "can do" approach they take in their work!

I called R.B. Plumbing based on a recommendation from a neighbor -- saw they were also highly rated on Angie's List and BBB Online. I can see why

I originally bought a $100 Big deal for rodding the mail sewer line, including a looking at the line with a camera. This was an incredible deal to begin with, but only got better. For 23 years I have lived in a 90 year old two-flat, and always had to rod the sewer line from an inside 4" pipe. The line is full of roots, and over the years many plumbers recommended that I install an access point to be able to use a 6" blade. The estimated cost was between $3,000 and $4000, which I did not have.

put the camera from the inside of my basement and as we looked at the root-filled line he noticed that there was a connection to "something," initially thinking it was a gutter entrance. About an hour later he suggested that I buy a lottery ticket... Wow!!! He located an access opening in my front yard, which has been installed and sealed many years ago. He was truly delighted to be able to excavate it and rod the line from the outside, first with a 2" blade, then a 4" blade, and finally a 6" blade. He will come back next week to install a closure to the opening... The whole thing, with the camera and rodding, ended up costing me $550. He will now come once a year to rod the line from the outside with the 6" blade (he will not need to go through it several times as he had to do this time because of the amount of roots inside. This was an amazing, totally professional and very caring service. to 6"

It was early a.m. and the kitchen sink stopped draining. First, I called the plumber with whom we usually work - they had no openings for the day. So, I went online to Angies List (where I SHOULD have started!) and searched for someone in a 5-mile radius of our home who had gotten good reviews. I am so happy I found
