1. Remove old tub (shower) surround & plumbing fixtures then install new one with new plumbing fixtures
The preparation for the shower surround was not in accordance with the instructions provided by the manufacturer, an example is additional studs are required in the inside corners for support as well as additional studs on side walls. It should be noted that the old surround was remove the morning of the first day and due to issues with suppliers we just received a good correct surround. The
plumbing is not satisfactorily installed (example: Shower head is screwed into a 90 degree plastic drop ear fitting not a brass one. The same was done for the tube spout which had a plastic pipe ran into a 90 degree plastic drop ear fitting not a brass one). This was a cheap way of plumbing which could easily cause a failure or cracking of plastic fittings, or pipe, after being used for a while. We had to request installation of addition support for the shower handle and pipes which was not completed satisfactorily.
Grab handle stud support for back grab handle is not sturdy just a small piece of 2x4 nailed loosely vertically to one stud rather that a 2x4 horizontally between two studs. This was after we had pointed out to
that he had not put sufficient support to secure grab bar properly. We are not builder but we could even see these problems.
2. Repair, prepare (old wallpaper removed) surface, and paint bathroom
The bathroom window was painted shut, the top not painted, the sides not painted correctly, and what was painted needs to be redone. There is also a divot in the bottom right corner of the window which looks like a pry bar was use to try and open window. They added trim to the window and it hangs over the window sill by about 3/16”. It should set in a bit or at least be flush. We had to point out the poor miter joints initially which he filed the ends off to make them look better.
The ceiling/ wall paint cut-in (two different colors) was not done very well; it needed to be masked off then painted. Paint did not
cover ceiling in all areas and a couple areas has wall paint on the ceiling. The walls need addition attention. The repairs need to be redone for a third time and the walls need another coat of paint. Sloppy painting, paint on door and door jamb not painted correctly.
3. Remove and Install underlayment and install vinyl floor
The vinyl flooring was cut incorrectly leaving underlayment exposed behind toilet and leaving a hole at the end of the carpet transition strip.
wanted to cover these errors up. This was not what we paid for and we would not accept this kind of workmanship. A
new floor will be properly laid with the underlayment being replaced so it is properly installed. To replace vinyl flooring plus the cost of removing and installing the underlayment and cost of underlayment material will cost us over $550.
4. Remove old sink and vanity then install new sink and vanity
2.4 (change order) Install 2 shut offs new sink drain (we provided) and put old sink in for temporary use and put heavy mil plastic sheet up for shower temporary use.
5. Remove old lights over sink and install Vanity Light
He did install the light over vanity correctly.
6. Install medicine cabinet
He did install the medicine cabinet correctly.
7. Install cabinet above toilet (Cabinet not received thus could not install)
8. Remove old toilet and install new one
Toilet not tight it has turned.
9. Install new baseboard
Baseboard not installed correctly. Visible gaps along edges and ends of the baseboard. One end by door not correctly installed. In back of the vanity the baseboard is missing from
of vanity to wall and wall is not painted to floor.
10. Remove old exhaust fan and install new one vented through roof
The installation of the ceiling vent fan was not done to city code and the workmanship for the ceiling plaster around the fan is very poor quality and has to be redone. The fan blows odor into 2nd bathroom;
’s reply when told of the problem was that the 2nd bathroom fan may not have a damper in it. This was his responsibility to make sure the task was done correctly and the fans ventilated both bath rooms. If he would have done the job according to code this would not have been a problem.
1.3(Change Order) Remove old hot water heater and install new one with new shut offs
noted that our water heater was old and we may want to replace it. We accepted his change order to replace it. A day or two after installation an odor was smelled. We ended up calling the gas company due to gas or flue odor. They found a gas leak and that the regulator was put on backwards.
was upset because we called the gas company rather than him. The gas company reworked his installation making it safe.
Summary Comments
by Contractors + Plus, in our opinion, does not do quality work. They do it the easiest and least
expensive way possible not taking quality into account. Rather it seems like when we brought an error to
’s attention he would try to fix it the easiest and most inexpensive way possible, trying to appease us. Many times this meant doing it over multiple
times rather than just doing it right the first time.
’s housekeeping rated a D. They did not leave tools and materials in an orderly manner at the end of the day. They sawed miter joints in carpeted hallway outside of bathroom. He did place a canvas tarp over the carpet. They sawed baseboard on front porch an left pieces of material and saw dust. He left ceiling paint, in large uncovered dry wall mud container, setting in hallway for 4 days after painting the ceiling. It dried out and had to be thrown out. They left a wet paint roller in paint
for 4 or 5 days setting in hallway. We finally put roller and
in a plastic bag and placed them with
’s tools, this happened twice. They left tarp over carpet in hallway did not remove it at end of day.
We will have to buy additional paint and supplies to complete the project due to the poor quality of workmanship by
by Contractors + Plus.
We chose
by Contractors + Plus using the A rating he had in Angies List as a major factor in our decision. We did not expect this kind of workmanship with those types of ratings.Company Response: I contacted this homeowner several times about resolving this issue and even requested me my self to finish the work that was needed to be done. I went over the list of items that needed attention and said yes they are not done we were still waiting on shower to come in after a 6 week period. Had several problems with the shower enclosure that I had nothing to do with. I also offered to reimburse them for the floor that they had problems with as I want my customer to be happy in the long run. I worked there more than a week with a worker that I had to pay for his time. The customer gave me money to start the job and with that I had wages of a worker for a week. The customer wanted back almost all the moneyb he had given me as a deposit to start the job, in return I would have made nothing and been out my time for a whole week, the moneyb I had paid a worker for the week and some small materials. Giving the whole amount requested back would have been me doing the whole job for free. This was not a fair fix to me in my personal opinion. Finishing the job right and doing it until the customer was happy would have been. I have several reviews on Angies list that shows I do good work and I would stick behind my work and make it right if indeed the customer was not happy but this customer would not allow me to do that in this case. I indeed did everything I could to make them happy and it seemed nothing I did or could have offered would have made them happy at that point.Review Photos:

We enjoyed the help selecting tile and fixtures. They showed up on time, and always ensured the site was clean before they left for the day. We did have some issues, but with each one, they were rectified satisfactorily and quickly without any pushback. We would use them again.

This is my fourth project I've had
East Peoria Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
do for me and by far the biggest. I had them totally remodel my kitchen; new floor, new ceiling, new walls, new cabinets, new doors, new sink, new everything. I absolutely LOVE my new kitchen and they did such an amazing job. They were here everyday at the time they said they were going to be, never a minute late. They worked non stop from the time they arrived until the time they left not even stopping for a lunch break. I had been putting off remodeling my kitchen because I didn't want the mess. Everyday they would clean up every little scrap and every piece of dirt and used the shop vac with
East Peoria Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
filter during the whole project to keep the dust down. What more could a girl want. I have a list of projects I would like to do and I wouldn't hire anyone else.
East Peoria Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked

This is my third job I've had
East Peoria Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked

East Peoria Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
refinished my handicap ramp, pressure washed my house and driveway. The day they came was probably the hottest day in
East Peoria Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
but they were here. I think temperatures got up to 105 the days they were here. I felt so sorry for them but never heard them once complain about anything. I would go out and check on them and offer a bottle of water and I could stand it about five minutes. They did a wonderful job and just a real pleasure to work with. The ramp turned out great and looks brand new and they even added some spindles to add to it. I would definitely use
East Peoria Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
again and have. You can find out what I had done on my next review. Thanks
