The dental hygienist in Dr.
's office performed a perio scale and root pin-4+per quad, better known as deep root planning, throughout my mouth. I agreed to it and the hygienist performed the service. I had a lot of bleeding in one area after the procedure . I was up all night with this problem. The next day I called Dr.
's home number as to me this was an emergency since the issue did not resolve from the time of the procedure. Dr.
told me to come in, but when I went in to the office, Dr.
asked me whether I had leukemia. I told him I did not. He acted as though I had done something to cause this problem. His associate, Dr.
, stitched the area that was bleeding. Dr.
said the procedure probably hit a capillary (I believe that was the term he used).

My wife had a problem in this practice with another dentist there who had ordered crowns for two teeth. The crowns came in from the lab too large for my wife's teeth. The dentist spent over an hour re-drilling my wife's two teeth, and also drilling the one below the teeth being crowned, and also trying to resize the lab's crowns. During the visit the dentist repeatedly complained that my wife had too much
! The crowns never did fit, so the dentist had to make new impressions. When my wife went in again to have the newly made crowns put on, she saw Dr.
. He used temporary cement to put the crowns on because he said she might need
a root canal. My wife thought that should have been determined prior to the crowns being suggested in the first place as she went in due to pain in one of the two teeth.

We were not charged for either of these inconveniences beyond the original services, but we feel we did not get excellent care at this practice and will be seeking dental care elsewhere.

He is a very conscientious doctor who accommodates budgets really well; he works within budgets. He is very friendly. He accommodates any timeframe in terms of emergency issues or anything else. They have a very friendly staff that is very knowledgeable and keeps track of patients and so forth. They squeeze me in for appointments if needed. I would rate him highly and would continue to use him in the future; in fact, I have an appointment with him next Thursday.

The service was horrid. I'm not sure where to start. I found them as a referral through my dental plan provider. I picked them just because they were very close to my house and spoke my native language. The receptionist was nice, but she wasn't very familiar with the numbers on a Guardian insurance card, which is one of the major insurance providers. I didn't make much of it and signed on and went to my appointment. I waited for quite a while in the dental chair. The dentist and the hygienist were popping into the exam room through the opening in the wall. I have to call it that, because they didn't have a door. I asked to put away my shirt, as I didn't want to get it dirty, but they couldn't offer a place to put it in the exam room and they sent me back out into the waiting room to hang it with my coat. Neither the dentist nor the hygienist introduced themselves to me, so it took me a while to figure which one is which. This was my first visit with this office, and they did not do an initial consultation at all. They just got to the cleaning. They were rather unfriendly and did not make me feel welcome. They quickly pointed out, as if to blame me, that I should floss more often. At the end of the procedure one of them actually flossed a bit and spitefully noted "See? I'm flossing for you." The cleaning was rather painful; much more painful than at my previous dentist. They did not care one bit about that. They were jerking around like they were scrubbing a toilet. They did not ask even once if I felt any pain. I could cringe and pull back all I wanted, and they didn't seem to care. Even the tears in my eyes by the end of the procedure didn't seem to give them any clue. During the procedure they handed me the vacuum tube for me to pull the water out myself. Then they took it away. They didn't have a sink or a cup to spit out the paste and water, so I ended up swallowing it twice. The dentist reviewed my x-rays and did not show them to me. They did not consult with me regarding the x-rays. They just told me they need to drill two cavities; one per visit. Cleanings at my previous dentist resulted in my teeth feeling smooth. This time I could feel the rough surface. Since I never had a cavity in my life, and I wasn't expecting one, I thought that maybe they were just trying to drum up business for themselves and drill for no reason. I went for a second opinion to a dentist I found on Angie's List. I ended up having to pay for the second opinion, because my insurance only covers one per 6 months, but I was glad I went there. It turned out that there was only one cavity and it did not need to be drilled anyway. The second opinion dentist was able to scrape entire chunks of

off my teeth with a single swipe, which confirmed my concern. In total, this dentist is terrible. I would stay away from them. If they screw up a

I happen to have two insurance companies so when I went in for a cleaning she insisted on taking a full set of x-rays, which I wasn't too crazy about doing. I consented reluctantly. I received two lengthy procedures (crowns) and I think she replaced a filling or two. Every time I went in I was told about her tooth whitening machine/procedure. When she completed the last tooth I noticed she didn't seem as friendly. My guess was that I used up my insurance for the year and since I wasn't interested in the whitening procedure she had no use for me anymore. I must tell you I was impressed with her work. She struck me as a perfectionist and at no time did I feel uncomfortable when she worked on me. I don't really know what was wrong with the teeth she fixed but she said they were due. To be honest, right now I couldn't tell you which teeth she did fix.
