Mr.
, one of the company owners came on time, promptly got to work. While under the house he took pictures of everything I needed to see. After, he came up and gave me a list of options, and suggestions. There was no pressure to have him do more than I thought was needed. We fixed a time when the other co owner and an associate would return to do the work. They arrived promptly, and did the work, taking pictures to show me everything they had done. They are paperless, so they sent me a bill via gmail, which I paid. I then called again, and I am having
put a drain in the lowest corner of our basement, in order to bring the house up to code.
I found that both owners were friendly, low pressure, and professional. Their work was excellent and their price met my expectations--I did have an Amazon Local discount, also. They guarantee their work for a year, even if workmen come in and they disturb the plastic sheeting. At no charge, they also recommended that we wait a month, call them back so they can inspect to see if there is any leakage from any pipes, etc.
I would recommend
because of their professionalism, their willingness to display their work, and their friendly attitude.

I wanted to take a moment to thank the owner,
. He came out to assess the moldy situation in the basement and took the time to offer some recommendations for how I could treat the mold and do some work outdoors with the grading, gutters, etc. He was NOT a salesman, and he didn't try to sell me on a waterproofing system I really don't need at this time (as long as the basement stays unfinished). He thought I could try the other suggestions first (which will involve hiring outdoor contractors) and then maybe think about waterproofing later. Definitely different than the Basement Authority who wanted to sell me a new waterproofing system, a $2000 dehumidifier, and expensive down spouting work.
This is an honest company, and, as a relatively inexperienced homeowner (and maybe easy target for the many salesmen-contractors out there), I really appreciate someone who genuinely wants to help and doesn't try to sell you things you don't need. Thanks again!

We originally hired Pioneer to advise on a project done poorly by a prior contractor. The rep who visited our home was very honest and helpful and said that a masonry expert would be better, and offered to send one afterwards for the same price we paid for our Angie's list deal. In the end, we had the dehumidifier installed to correct some other moisture problems in our basement. They were really pleasant to work with. The installation of the unit took less than an hour! They were prompt and professional.

The sales rep was very personable and seemed to have knowledge of drainage problems and solutions. The workers arrived on schedule and worked very hard to accomplish the task at hand. They routed the drainage to an open ditch parallel to the property. They also rerouted drainage for an existing, inefficient french drain and sump that was pumping water across the driveway that was washing the soil out from under the concrete and creating an unsightly stain. To this point, we felt that all was going well. The problem that arose was that the French drain they installed was still higher than the foundation of the house. They filled in the trench with gravel to facilitate drainage, but covered the gravel with the soil they removed, which is mostly clay. Consequently, the water still runs off across the top of the French drain and overwhelms the foundation. Moisture in the crawl space has not been significantly reduced. I talked to the rep about redoing the crawl space which had mold forming on the floor joists. He gave me a quote that included sealing all the vents, cleaning the mold, adjusting pitch of the interior perimeter French drain, relocating the crawl sump & pump to a better collection point, putting down new vapor

and installing a crawl space dehumidifier, ($1,500.00) at a total cost of $4,290.00. If we wanted mold remediation treatment in addition to just cleaning the mold, the cost was an additional $1,950.00. The rep also agreed to send a team back out to remove the top

of soil from the French drain and fill the trench with gravel, build up the soil at the foundation, making the new French drain at a level lower than the foundation to contain the water, at no additional charge. Subsequent to all that, we discovered some major structural damage that was going to be costly. Alignment of priorities and available finances dictated that the crawl space would have to be put on hold, at least temporarily. I sent an email to the

rep explaining our dilemma, but reiterated that I still expected him to live up to his promise to fix the French drain deficiencies, for which I already paid handsomely. In spite of email, text messages and voice mail to the rep, I have never received the courtesy of a response. I can only conclude that since we had to suspend the crawl space work, there is no intention to make the necessary changes/repairs to the original work as promised.

At this time, I have not decided on moving forward with the quoted work so I can't really rate the finished product. Still deciding on on which route to take. I will say that their response time from initial contact to follow-up calls & emails is great. Their scheduling option through the website is good in that you pick the date based on what's open. It allows you to plan ahead.
Their estimator,

It went very well. The workmen showed up on time and the quality of work was very good. I am writing this review years later because I noticed they were not Angie's List and we will be using them again for a separate issue. I will give another update after that work is completed.

spoke with me on the phone and after explaining my situation he said I might not need waterproofing and explained some steps to assess if I needed waterproofing and advised me to be careful not to get something I did not need.
He spent the time on the phone to explain me and was honest.

Bill and his team were fantastic. I got several estimates, and he was slightly more expensive but I felt most confident with him. He was very upfront about what he will provide, the cost, warranties, insurance, etc, also explained why I had this water problem. He went out of his way to fit me in, and his team did the job in a day. I was very happy with the results, but what's even better is since then I have contacted him several times with questions about my basement - things he is not actually responsible for, I just reached out since he is an expert - and he has been extremely helpful and prompt in responses. I would absolutely hire him again.

First of all I do have to say that my yard looks amazing they did an awesome job and I would definitely use them again.
The reason I cannot comment on pricing is because of the 4-5 companies I contacted they were the only ones to show up and give an estimate.
Now some details:
We (my wife and I) recently bought our townhome and after the first storm realized we had a leaky basement, the main problem being water pooling directly against the house (there were other issues we had to address but not within the scope of this review). I worked with
Alton Waterproofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
on this project and when I called within a day or two he came out and assesed the situation and gave me a rough verbal estimate. This was back in may and he was upfront and told me that they would not be able to come out until around end of june time frame. After a couple weeks I did have to reach out and inquire about the written estimate, which was then promptly given and was also given the date of

8 for work to begin. Once the eighth rolled around... nothing. Was finally able to get a hold of
Alton Waterproofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
around 1300 and he apologized and said they would be out the next day guaranteed. Those minor communication errors are the only strikes against the company. The following day they showed up and got right to work. The job was completed in three days as promised.
As I stated initially my yard looks amazing. The crew worked hard and did a fantastic job. They removed all the old cracked and just really bad looking flagstone, buried a new drain, and laid the new pavers which included two mulch beds as requested. There are only a couple minor cosmetic issues that they promised to rectify (couple of pavers are badly chipped).
It took the a while to be able to come out and do the job, but it was well worth the wait

These guys are life savers. After calling multiple companies and dealing with way to many salesman I finally found someone Icould trust . So my neighbors basement floor is approximately 1ft higher then mine. I had water coming throughthe middle of the interior wall. Several companies came out to my house. They all wanted me to dig out my foundation and install a drainage system and sump pumps. Then
Alton Waterproofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
showed from armored. He looked around in my basement for a bit. We were both scratching our heads as to how the wall could be leaking.
Alton Waterproofing Contractors Provider Name Locked
asked me how well I knew my neighbors. When I told him very well he asked if we could gain acces to there home. We went next door to inspect further. Within 2 minutes he found the problem. My neighbors condensation pump to her central air had failed. So behind the unit the water had been running down into my basement. Since my floor sits lower. At that moment I felt so much relief. I wanted to give him a huge hug. My neighbor fixed her problemthat day and no more water in my basement since. I highly recommend thiscompany to anyone looking for a honest inspectiin of yr wet basement.
