"I brought in the chair (an appointment is necessary) and had them give me an estimate to completely refinish it. There is upholstery on the back, seat and a small area on each arm. All the existing fabric was secured with nail heads, so replacing the material would be a labor-intensive job. They were also going to touch up the wood and apply a polish. Overall, they priced out a complete overhaul, which was more than I could afford to spend, so I started whittling down the work to be done until I got it to a manageable price. Ultimately, they are going to remove the studs from the seat, reupholster it and put a webbing in place of the studs.
This company does excellent work. I like to buy used furniture and have it refinished to restore its original beauty, so I have used this company many times in the past. I wouldn't think of going anywhere else to have my furniture refinished.

"antastic! They repaired the top of a Teak chest that I thought was a goner. I had been hiding scratches with strategically placed pillows. Now the top is perfect. You can tell they care about the work. The price was very reasonable and I used an Angie's List coupon.

"The entire experience was excellent. The company was very good about communicating with me by e-mail and phone. They kept me
informed as to the progress of the project from start to finish. The final outcome was exceptional. The table looked brand new. For the work that was done, I felt the price was very reasonable. I am very pleased with everything and would not hesitate to recommend this company.

picked up my two pieces at the end of December. They held them for me until I moved to my new location and were more than happy to let me pick them up myself in February to save some money. They did a BEAUTIFUL job of restoring and refinishing the tops of both the nightstand and end table, both of which were badly damaged. Their people, including the office staff, were courteous, helpful and professional. I will definitely be giving them some return business.

"I took my 30 year old oak dining room chairs to

to be refinished and have caning repaired on Oct 11 (the chairs were not stripped, just cleaned up and new finish applied).
Addison Furniture Repair Shops Provider Name Locked
asked if I wanted the wobbly chairs reglued as well and new fabric on the seats. I agreed to the additional work and said I'd like to have them by Thanksgiving, but if not, Christmas would be ok. In late November they called to say the foam on the seats needed to be replaced too. The chairs were finished on

18. Overall the chairs look as good as new and have a nice even finish. They should last another 30 years. I'm very satisfied with the work, though it took longer and cost more than expected (the cost above does not include $200 in Angie's list coupons). I will have the matching table repaired and refinished too, but when I'm not in a hurry for it.

"I had my 2 midcentury walnut Lane end tables sanded, repaired and stained to match the original finish. They picked up the tables on 11/1/12 and returned them to me on12/11/12.
When
Addison Furniture Repair Shops Provider Name Locked
informed me that the tables were ready forpick-up, I asked what their hours of business were and they said M-F - 8am-4pm. I asked about evening or weekend hours and low and behold...they don't have weekend or evening hours but they were willing to charge me $125 to deliver my 2 18 x 18 end tables for a whopping $125! I was floored and
asked if there were any other solutions, since I didn't think the delivery fee was fair and just couldn't believe that they didn't hold weekend hours to accommodate those that hold weekday jobs. I didn't receive any response until I emailed the salesman directly. He did respond and agreed to deliver the tables on his weekly delivery day in the city with no fee attached. I felt that the back and forth I had with
Addison Furniture Repair Shops Provider Name Locked
on email, to elecit any response, displayed a lack of customer service and care.
I did receive my tables on 12/11. The finish didn't match the original stain. The repairs to the veneer went well, but the stain and
seal appear to have a orange cast. The original walnut patina seems to have been lost with the new stain that was used. I probably should have asked the salesman for a swatch of the stain they planned on using, but I felt that because they came so highly recommended that there was no need to second guess them. I asked the salesman to simply match the original stain and he confirmed that they would do just that.
Overall - the whole cost for this process was ridiculous for 2 very small non-detailed end tables. I paid $400.00 (2 angie's list coupons + 200 out of pocket) through angie's list big deal and couldn't comprehend how the whole process could have exceeded that, but the quote was still an additional $200.00 out of pocket. I really thought that the $200 ($400 value) in coupons would have easily covered the cost for refinishing these 2 small tables. In the end - I didn't feel I received any sort of deal with this company and as a result won't do business with them again.

"There was a little confusion at the beginning about the original estimates on the work and the estimator getting them approved by her boss. Then the work was delayed a few weeks, which they told us would happen, since they had a backlog of work. We had estimates done on two pieces, but ended up deciding we could only afford to have the bookcase (which needed the work much more desperately since it was literally coming apart) done at this time. They graciously allowed us to leave the furniture pieces at their office/workshop location the whole time we and they were thinking through the estimates and waiting for the work to be done, which saved us making additional trips to their location, which is over a half hour from our home. Despite the initial confusion and delay, the end result of the work done on the bookcase was worth the wait and the effort. We have other antique furniture pieces that need maintenance, and plan to return to

with them in the future, as our finances can handle it. We purchased the coupon on October 11, and picked up the bookcase on November 30, two days after they told us it was completed.

"job took very long to complete. was not satisfied with the work done and they took it back to finish the job to my satisfaction. Their work is good, but expensive and takes a long time.
