"He is very good at listening to your concerns and looking out for your kids. If one child is sick and we book one appointment for the sick child he also checks our" other child for the sickness. Sure enough our second child had the same thing and we were able to get both treated together instead of having to go back for another appointment. I have been to several other providers but felt their office was not focused on money and volume of kids, not this office. I also don't believe in flu shots since I used to work at a hospital and I am glad to find an office that does not believe in it also.

"We chose this clinic for it's location, available on site resources and office hours...advertised evening "walk in clinics". First they are always" running late, on average about two hours behind scheduled appointments. I learned to come prepared to wait! Then the last time we had a regular check up, my 4 year old son had put a small plastic
up his nose in the wait room and the doctor saw it and when he was going to take it back out....it was about to fall out anyway....she told him to sit still, not move...because it would have fallen out if he had....then ran off to get tweezers, came back told him to blow his nose....and the
came back out....all well and good, we all thought it was funny at the time...until I got the bill and the portion for the "Nose extraction" I kid you not, was $575! We have a high deductible insurance and I would have had to pay for that out of pocket...this was something that was about to fall out on it's own and he blew his nose and it came right out while she was holding her tweezers and a tissue.....I called and asked if there had been a mistake...which got their attention, then after pointing out the situation they "reduced" that part of the bill to $75.Really, I had to pay $75 for something that was about to fall out. Next time my daughter had a
in her toe.....the doc felt she wanted to make a cut to get it out, well she wanted to give her a local shot to numb the toe....my daughter panicked, she was 6 at the time, and between the doctor and the nurse trying to hold my daughter and numb the toe with the shot, the doctor pushed the needle through my daughters toe into the nurses finger and back out through my daughter's toe! Now we had to wait for the nurse to get tested for all kinds of stuff and to wait about a month to find out that our daughter was not exposed to anything really bad....and they at one point considered having our little girl get tested so the nurse would know she was not exposed to anything, but our little girl had been going there her entire life and they had her medical records....really get her tested after they did that to her....anyway bless the nurse, she said she agreed it was not necessary, 'cause it would have meant that our little girl would have to have blood drawn and she was pretty upset after the toe incident, and did I mention....they never got any
out of the toe....I ended up soaking her foot in
salt foot baths for that. Now my son has an ear issue, and I called the advise nurse today, they said: oh it's probably an ear infection, so I asked for the walk in evening hours....that are supposed to be available for just such last minute issues that need antibiotics now....and they said that it didn't qualify, but he really needed to be seen, but there were no appointments left today and neither tomorrow. So I said, never mind...thinking I'll go to Zoom care, and then got a lecture for not waiting until next week for an appointment...Anyone with a child with an ear infections knows you can't wait 4 days for antibiotics, the ears hurt and they need antibiotics. I guess they didn't want to take patients tonight. After this I'm looking for a new pediatrician/clinic to take the kids to. Would not recommend this clinic to anyone.

He is really good at interacting with the kids. He understands that I have to bring my toddler with me for my new born appointments and is very caring. If I have a question, the nurse always gets back with me within an hour and always make me feel comfortable with my options.

She is professional, her knowledge and she always finds ways for me to get my daughter in to see her, with an appointment or not. I have been with her for years, probably 6-7. The office is always clean and organized. I like that their technology has increased. I get emails reminders and I can accesses a patience portal with everything that is up to date.

Although not specifically requested, Liam was placed with a young female Doctor who was doing her residency at the time. She called herself Dr.

A Brilliant Physician who treats her families with respect and continues to think about options for her patients long after her appointments have finished. She is everything I have ever dreamed of in a pediatrician who every day gives 100% to those in her care. I must be truthful and say that there is one thing that she doesn't bring to work, and that's any kind of ego that can be so disheartening to patients.

Our First Appointment - Dr
Sandpoint Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
was late by 10 minutes; and profusely apologized. That was the first good sign
It took me about five minutes to decide that this woman was passionate about her patients. Moreover, she spent a great deal of time and thought into how to best relate to her patient and the parent whether she talked to the entire family unit, or a single individual. When you put your child in the hands of an expert like Dr.
Sandpoint Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
, a parent never knows what to expect. For me, a first time parent to an adopted child, my mind was literally loaded with concerns like was he developing in line with the expected goals for his age group? or is that little spot under his arm a harmless freckle or a cancerous tumor. Of course by the time I get to the appointment I have convinced myself that something incurable has developed and I could have prevented it somehowThis young resident took my breath away. Not only was her knowledge insightful and thoroughly researched, she did something that I find very rare these days. She provided the information required after Liam's exam (subject to those tests that needed to be taken to the lab), and she answered my questions in a language I could understand. Not Doctor-talk!What was so special is that she did this in a manner that was comforting and respectful and at the end she re-assured me by spending a few minutes going through the treatment plan with her Attending. She seemed to lack all of the stereotypes that patients dislike about doctors. There was no ego or arrogance, and I can't even remember a white coat. She didn't whisk in and out like she was fitting us in between a heart transplant and a brain tumor biopsy. She didn't whizz around from corner to corner on the little stool instead of getting up and walking, and she didn't constantly call me "mom".
Best of all, when we met her, she actually read the notes that the nursing assistant had painstakingly recorded instead of the usual 20 minutes pre-interview only for the doctor to come in and ask you why you are there.
Most of all, she looked me in the eye and not at a computer. For me, this is a biggie. Recently I was at a doctor's appointment when all I could hear was him tapping away on his desktop completely unaware that I was trying to gain eye contact. For all I know, he could have been emailing a shopping list to his wife. It was awful.
A year or so later Dr.
Sandpoint Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
gave us the bad news that she had graduated and would be moving on. Of course it was great news for her and she deserved nothing less. She wasn't sure where she would be and as the years went by I checked from time to time to see if she had joined a practice. In the meantime I had been taking Liam to a local primary care that I thought was nothing more than just ok. All they did was refer us to a specialist when I felt that they could have
At this point I do not want to give anyone the impression that I am a
Sandpoint Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
! However, our insurance changed and I checked through the list and hey presto, Dr.
Sandpoint Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
was as
Sandpoint Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
. Although Liam had a recent physical, I felt it was not thorough enough and made an appointment to see Dr.
Sandpoint Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
in a few weeks at her practice about 30 minutes away.
All the people we met on that day were fantastic. All I could think about was am I a blithering idiot to think that Dr.
Sandpoint Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
would actually remember us. When she entered the room she not only remembered us from UNC, she remembered some specific problems Liam had and asked how he had been doing since then.
Unlike his recent 10 minute examination, Dr,
Sandpoint Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
discussed medical issues that I realize now were completely relevant and extremely important; but not even spotted or looked at by his
Sandpoint Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
doctor. It was only towards the end of his exam that I realized that she was extremely pregnant. In fact so pregnant, she was due the following week and would be taking a short break. I had a shock when she told me that it was her second baby!
I want to end by telling you why this doctor is so special. A few days later I had a call from a member of her practice to say that Dr
Sandpoint Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
had taken some further time to think about Liam's issue, and wanted him to have some tests with a specialist. For the sake of my son I will not go into details because it was highly personal, but as a result of this referral, we obtained some crucial information that will will now be able to think about the impact on Liam's future, and how we can manage it.
If it had not been for her thorough exam and follow up, we would never have known.
One of the nurses told me that Dr.
Sandpoint Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
doesn't just tick the box after finishing one patient, she spends time thinking through examinations that she had been doing in case other factors should be considered. In Liam's case, Dr.
Sandpoint Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
had so little time before the birth of her baby, that it frankly would not have surprised me if she was continuing her patient care in between contractions.
Every Doctor, Nurse and administrative associate at
Sandpoint Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
has been superb. However at a time when people seem to find time to complain, I want to thank Dr.
Sandpoint Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
for putting her patients and families first; for trusted advice and knowledge, and most of of all for treating her families with compassion and respect so that our confidence as parents can grow for the maximum benefit of the child.
Our thanks and gratitude go out to all at
Sandpoint Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
, especially to Dr.
Sandpoint Pediatricians Provider Name Locked
who epitomizes everthing that is right at a time when so little time is available.
