did a wonderful job removing the trees from our backyard safely and with mininum disruption to the community. Before removing the trees," they provided the best customer service as we consulted with them about what we wanted to happen. When we initially reached out to their company they immediately called us back with a great turn around time to come out and review the trees we wanted removal. They also provided a quick turn around date for removal of the trees. They were excellent with communicating eta time before consultation and tree removal appointment.

-Demeris C.

"They started on time and completed the job as expected. The trimmers had to check with their boss which large branch I wanted down. I was at work. The cleaned everything very well. Very polite.

Hiring to trim trees? A how-to guide

Follow these tips to find a tree service that will clip with care and leave you with dollars for the rest of your landscape.

Tree Care and Services

Trees grow slowly so you can't afford to make a mistake by planting them in the wrong location or overlooking something that puts the tree at risk. Tree care is something most homeowners can do on their own, but an expert should be called if a tree is showing signs of disease or if limbs need to be removed.

I would strongly suggest sending your neighbors a certified letter stating that, per your earlier conversation, you consider this tree to be a hazard due to its proximity to the power lines.  Then, when and if something bad does happen, you will have a record of having informed them of it and they won't be able to say "we didn't know."

You say the county has told you it is the neighbor's problem.  Did you contact the local electric company?  They should care very much about the situation.

I would also recommend taking lots of pictures showing the proximity of the tree to the wires and that it is obviously dead.

Dead trees do sometimes stay vertical for a very long time, but it sounds like a tense situation for you.  I understand your desire to not inflame the situation, but it doesn't sound like there is anything more you can do that won't have the potential to do so.  So it becomes your responsibility to look after your own interests in the most reasonable way possible.

For my money, never ? I do a walk-around yearly in the summer (when easy to work on and before the heavy fall winds in our area) and look for trees with dead crowns, losing branches everywhere but at the crown, brown branches (evergreens) or leafless branches, leaning trees, trees with visible rot, trees with major bark loss, trees with seriously damaged or eroded away roots, etc. If none of those symptoms, then I call our 100 or so trees good for the year.

Of course, the bigger the trees and the likelihood of house damageor powerline loss (especially in winter) if there is a major branch or tree fall comes into play also. I trim and cut my own trees when needed regardless of size, so my level of confidence in being able to handle anything comes into it.

If you are worried about one or more trees, call an arborist to check them out - then I would say unless there is evidence of damage - ESPECIALLY leaning trees or major branches not leafing like the rest of the tree - I would not worry having them looked at more frequently than every 10 years or so.

A week and a half after the walk through, a large tree from my neighbors yard fell in my yard. Destroying the swing set and damaging my fence. It took 2 days to get everything, my coupon and another day at $2,400. They cleared everything including the mangled swing set. The yard looks great. Price very reasonable. They worked on a day when it was single digits outside. These guys have no problem with hard work. And GREAT RESPONSE TIME.!

We thought we would need to reschedule because our yard was inaccessible due to heavy deep snow cover. But they came in with an

of shovelers, excavated the yard and tree, brought in the heavy equipment, and took out that tree with no problems. They were professional and friendly. We would definitely use them again and recommend them.

Parma Tree Services Provider Name Locked
is a perfect example of a tree service professional. He is very responsive to answering emails and phone calls. He is knowledgable and very friendly. During our pre conference, we talked about the different options of the service and he was very courteous about meeting our budgetary needs. Furthermore, he is just simply a good person to deal with. He has good moral ideas and won't stray you into any direction for his business benefits. If you are looking for any tree trimming or landscaper professional, look no further.

came back the end of February with two workers. They raised the canopy, shaped and thinned both of them out a bit. They were all very professional and did a great great. They picked up all the branches from the yard and left everything looking great. We will be using

They did an excellent job. Worked very fast, cleaned up; almost wouldn't know he was there. Requested they do not use bucket truck as the ground was still soft; so they climbed the tree. It was an extremely cold day and they continued working until job was done. The owner and someone helping him trimmed tree. Arrived on time for the estimate and started work at the time and day he gave me. Very professional and courteous. I would definitely use them again and recommend to others.

and I met at my home for the quote. We discussed the work I wanted done to the point of counting the specific trees I wanted trimmed. I agreed to his price and he said he would start the next day. On the day the work was to begin, he texted me that he was on his way. He also followed up with a text asking for some money up front cause "need to loan my ex some money". Even though we had not discussed any pre-payment, I was against giving an upfront payment to get him started. I gave him $300. When I gave him the payment, he said he was going to get started today and come back the next day with some help and his trailer to finish. I had no issue with his plan I had to leave to run errands and my wife was still at the house as

was getting started. When she left an hour or so later he was no where to be found. He must have come back later. My wife returned home at 7:30pm and he was still there. His truck was running in the driveway with radio on. She could not find him, but later found him in the back yard in the dark. He said he was finishing up. He then left. Need less to say it is a little odd to be tree trimming in the dark with no flash light. The next day he didn't show up and didn't not return my call. When I checked his progress from the previous day, he got very little trimming done (mainly a few sucker branches and small dead wood). He left this in a blue tarp on my grass. What

. I have no idea why he did this. He made a big mess and ripped up landscape fabric in the process. I was pretty mad at this point. I left him a message on the day he didn't show back up and never got a response. The next day I didn't here from him and he didn't show up at the house. On that following Tuesday I received a call from another number returning my message. The lady who called said they would be out the next day. I left work the next day to check and no one was working at my house. I called the lady back and told her what went on. She said she would make it right and be out the next day. 30 min later I got a text saying they could not come till the weekend. I responded with a cancelation of the job.

We met
Parma Tree Services Provider Name Locked
at the home and garden show and set up a time to have him come out and look at our trees. We weren't having any problems but our trees had been in the ground for 10-15 years and had never had any trimming done. He gave us an estimate and said they were looking at about 2 weeks before they would come out, depending on weather but would call the day before. Two weeks later they called and said they would be out the next day. They showed up on time with 4 workers and completed the trimming in about an hour and a half. They hauled everything away and the trees looked great after.
