"I could not be happier with the care and treatment from Dr.
and his staff. I made the decision after several years with implants to have" them removed, for no other reason than personal preference. He made me feel comfortable and confident in my decision and everyone in the office was great. The procedure itself was easy and done well. I definitely would recommend Dr.

-Jessica C.

"The initial consult was easy to schedule and I only had to wait a week. The office staff are great and very easy to work with. Meeting Dr. Rigan was my first time" experience with a doctor that completely lacks a friendly manner. Very cold and not easy to be around, but he was quick and efficient and answered my questions. As for the procedure, Dr Rigan did not cause me any pain and he is excellent at what he does. In one week, I can not see any scare and it looked only a little darker than the other skin around it. In 2 weeks, the darkness is gone and it looks perfect. He's is fantastic and I would recommend him, but I would warn them about his demeanor so they aren't caught off guard like I was. He's not for everyone, but he is very good at what he does.

Often known as plastic surgery, cosmetic surgery is a procedure that modifies or improves an aspect of one's appearance—a physical deformity, irregularity or defect—but isn't medically necessary.

Cosmetic Surgery reviews in Boise

Boise Plastic Surgeons Provider Name Locked
listens well, explains everything about the procedure, and is very honest about the details such as recovery time and possible side effects.
His staff is outstanding....very friendly and helpful.

The doctor was punctual, and spoke in a manner that was totally understandable. Should I require further work in the future, I will definitely go to him.

For the provider - the appointment date listed is an approximation. I sought Dr.
Boise Plastic Surgeons Provider Name Locked
out for a consultation to either remove or replace a chin implant. I was told on the phone that the consultation would be free as he has a promotion for Angie's list members. The appointment with Dr.
Boise Plastic Surgeons Provider Name Locked
went well, as he patiently answered my questions and seemed well versed in the affected anatomy. The problem was after the appointment I was told to pay $150 since this was a "second opinion". I disagreed with the person at the front desk on their idea of a second opinion (because I already had the chin implant, consulting with Dr.
Boise Plastic Surgeons Provider Name Locked
to remove it is a second opinion and not a consultation, apparently) and politely tried to explain this fee structure wasn't what I signed up for going into this consultation. The office manager ultimately waived the fee this time but insisted it was a second opinion and carries a $150 fee.
In my desperation to find a competent doctor to remove my chin implant, I called Dr.
Boise Plastic Surgeons Provider Name Locked
's office to try to schedule a "consultation" again. The first consultation left me with several questions and details specific to my case to clarify before outright booking surgery. Not to mention, I didn't get surgical quotes for some reason either. The person over the phone explainedhis consultation is $150. When I cited Dr.
Boise Plastic Surgeons Provider Name Locked
's free consultation for Angie's list members, the receptionist said that promotion expired a long time ago.... well then. As I type out this review, I still see the promotion posted on Angie's list. I have spent way too much money already seeing doctors who charged me just to say 'I can't help you', and I am not adding to that pot with Dr.
Boise Plastic Surgeons Provider Name Locked
. Not only is he falsely listing a promotion on Angie's list, but EVERY follow up consultation visit with him is an additional $150.

Treatment didn't work. Didn't offer to refund any part at all. Billing part was terrible. I had to beg for a professional looking invoice and they couldn't figure out the medical insurance code. The staff is kind of weird. The office manager's face hardly moves (Botox) and the guy I had an appointment with to discus laser light treatment to make more hair grow was very strange looking. Also too much Botox. I would never go back there. Dr

is very cute, good bedside manner, but that's about it. I'm very sorry I ever went in there.

I called to make an appointment and was scheduled within a couple weeks. At the end of the conversation I was told that there would be a $100 copay for the consultation. I informed the Dr's rep that the surgery would be covered by insurance and that with the expense of radiation I had met all of my copay and coinsurance requirements. About a half hour later I received a call from the dr's office to let me know that the person who scheduled me didn't realize that I was an insurance pay - not a cosmetic self pay- and they had to reschedule me...more than a month later! Not wanting to be treated as "less than" because I am using my insurance for cancer reconstruction and not simply paying out of my pocket for an elective cosmetic procedure, I decided to have a consultation with another breast surgeon. I called and cancelled the month away consultation with Dr Wakelin and left a message explaining why with the Practice Manager. I received a call from Dr Wakelin's "assistant" who shares his last name. She was very apologetic and wanted to let me know that the person who said that was new, only lasted two weeks, and was no longer there. She really wanted me to come in and meet the staff and Dr Wakelin to see how wonderful they all are. She said she wanted the opportunity to "make it up to" me. I agreed to an appointment the following week. I was told to show up 15 minutes early unless I filled out my paperwork online. In that case, Ms. Wakelin told me to be a little early because they run "exactly" on time. I did my forms online but when I arrived was told that I had two additional forms to complete. One form was a credit card authorization that said that if I didn't pay my balance after 30 days that they would run an EFT against my credit card. The other form was the HIPAA form, required by law, but with a few edits - including a statement of financial responsibility where I would have to agree to pay whatever the insurance didn't pay. Needless to say, I told the receptionist that I was uncomfortable signing these forms. At 18 minutes after 2 (so they don't really run exactly on time) I was called back.. Ms. Wakelin insisted that I apparently did not understand the forms and that is why I wouldn't sign tem. She explained to me that I would be financially responsible for any amount that the insurance company didn't pay. Despite explaining to her that her organization has an agreement with my insurance company for set fees for certain procedures and that under usual circumstances I might be responsible for copays and coinsurance, but in this situation I am not. She even went so far as to ask me if I thought the doctor should just write off what the insurance company refused to pay. I said that the doctor should adhere to his agreement with the insurance company.
Bottom line, because I refused to sign a

check to the doctor's office I was "unable" to see the doctor. Oh, Ms. Wakelin did try to get me to sign the one form because HIPAA is required by law - I offered to sign a HIPAA form without the financial responsibility statement but they wouldn't accept that.
I suppose that if you were going for an elective cosmetic procedure this practice would be just fine. It seems that Dr Wakelin has a great reputation....but for someone like me that just wants two average similar looking breasts after breast cancer surgery, with great insurance that will pay for everything - if the doctor is willing to live up to the terms of their agreement - this ordeal was just an irritating waste of my time.

I consulted with these guys for a consultation about liposuction, thinking that liposuction was a straightforward procedure and that a physician's assistant could probably do as well as someone with an MD. Will never trust a non MD to do major surgical work again.
The office was in an expensive part of town, and the reception staff welcoming, as is usually the case with cosmetic surgery centers. The PA that does the surgery, Rod, was also very nice. I noticed the price changed between consultation and surgery, which was the first red flag. Then after surgery, they allowed me to drive myself home when I was still sedated and I fell asleep behind the wheel and had to pull over in the middle of the highway.
Afterwards, despite aggressive massage and supportive care, I developed a cottage cheese,

type stomach. The initial welcome on follow up changed into a denial that anything that went wrong could have been their fault.
I ultimately went to a a number of surgeons for second opinion to have Rod's worked fixed, and was told that he had been overly aggressive and I had developed scar tissue, for which not much could be done.
A reconstructive plastic surgeon ended up having to refill in the areas around the scar tissue to even out the lumpiness with fat grafts that they took from other parts of my body. It was painful, and ended up costing me over twice as much to have his work reversed ($12,000), plus a second period of recovery time and missed work. I am still unable show my stomach in public because of the stares and questions I receive. Beyond the physical pain, the stress and anxiety I suffered has been really difficult.
Nice office, but if something goes wrong, don't expect them to back you up.
Lesson learned - be cautious in being overly trusting of Yelp reviews to make major surgical decisions. Physician's assistants are called 'assistants' for a reason.

I was not told before the operation that there would be numbness on my crown for 6 months. Turns out the numbness is permanent. I was told that the scar on my hairline would be concealed as my hair grew out. I have a visible permanent scar that was placed BELOW my hairline. I recently went for physical therapy and the PT noticed RIGHT AWAY that I have this scar. I am now being treated by her with a scar release technique similar to accupuncture. I feel like I traded one obvious flaw for another. I called Dr.
Boise Plastic Surgeons Provider Name Locked
's office about the issue and the call was never returned. Please make sure you are prepared for a scar on your hairline before you receive this procedure. If you face hair thinning or hair loss in the future this will be a huge problem.
- Ann M.

I went well. The fat pockets were gone. I had one small area under my right arm but he offered to redo that and any other area and I would only have to pay the room costs (about $1000). He seems very knowledgeable and professional and I would certainly use him again.
