"The tech came out on time, worked quickly and neatly, cleaned up as he worked and had the entire system installed in less than three hours. The installation outside" the house was placed to be unobtrusive (something
's are concerned with) and the exhaust motor is extremely quiet. 24 hours after the installation, the radon level was reduced from 6.8 to 2.1 and the level is still falling. The original quote was for $950, but the invoice showed they gave a 5% discount for Angies List members. Since I gave the tech a check for $950, they've promised to refund the discount. I had a radon installation done at another house a few years ago at a lower price by a Denver based firm, but I constantly had to call them back to fix things that didn't comply with the
approval and to correct things that weren't to code. It's an old story of you get what you pay for.
is a very professional organization and I highly recommend them.

-Rick M.

is the best the industry has to offer and worth the price. Thorough, realistic, and offers peace of mind. Highly recommended by a repeat customer.

Radon is a colorless, odorless gas that occurs as a decay byproduct of uranium and thorium. Radon forms naturally in the environment, and low levels can be detected in soil, rock and ground water. Homeowners that inhale radon are at risk of lung cancer and even death.

Radon Testing reviews in Iowa City

Today's inspection went great. Being a first time home buyer the home inspection was very important to me and I wanted it done right. The quality of
Iowa City Radon Inspectors Provider Name Locked
's work was excellent. He was very professional and answered all of my questions. It was apparent that he has being doing home inspections for a long time and was very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend him.

We chose
Iowa City Radon Inspectors Provider Name Locked
for our Radon mitigation system installation because he spotted issues that no other Radon mitigation contractor mentioned (we had a basement shower drain that needed to be sealed and he advised us to ensure proper sealing of some drain tile work that we were having done by another basement contractor prior to
Iowa City Radon Inspectors Provider Name Locked
's services).
We are using electronic Radon monitors; previously, we had a level of 12.5 pCi/L in our basement near a dirt floor crawlspace. After encapsulation of the crawlsapce and the installation of the radon mitigation system, our levels initially dropped to 2.5 pCi/L in the same location. However, we have noticed that the level has continued to drop to about a .9 pCi/L currently.
In our basement bedrooms, we had previously measured Radon levels of 5.5 pCi/L to 8.5 pCi/L. The post mitigation levels are consistently below an .8 pCi/L. We obtained bids from 5 or 6 different Radon mitigation contractors.
Iowa City Radon Inspectors Provider Name Locked
was not the cheapest bid, nor was he the most expensive. However, as I already stated,
Iowa City Radon Inspectors Provider Name Locked
caught issues other mitigation contractors didn't mention.
Iowa City Radon Inspectors Provider Name Locked
also spent a good amount of time with me in his initial visit to our home and during our initial telephone call. So, while
Iowa City Radon Inspectors Provider Name Locked
wasn't the cheapest bid, I am confident that he provided the best value by far.

Iowa City Radon Inspectors Provider Name Locked
performed the initial check up of my house and designed the system location to be in the garage. This is important to me since all other area of the basement is finished and I certainly wanted to avoid installation on finished floor.
Iowa City Radon Inspectors Provider Name Locked
was the installer. He arrived a little early and did some prep work while waiting. He was courteous, professional, and patient explaining the work details (where to drill hole and connect pipes) and how to monitor the system. He helped on clearing the area of installation and sealed a gap along the wall. The job was done promptly and he also cleaned the debris from the installation. In the end he also provide extra radon testing kits for my peace of mind.

It went very well and they were outstanding. The owner did everything that he said he was going to do and his employees were knowledgeable, pleasant, efficient and clean.

Iowa City Radon Inspectors Provider Name Locked
was a pleasure to work with. They responded promptly to my order and were out to install the mitigation system within a week. They did a great job installing the system in our old, quirky house. The technician who installed it was knowledgable, courteous and meticulous. I would recommend these guys to a friend.

Iowa City Radon Inspectors Provider Name Locked
installed a radon mitigation system that started in an unfinished room in the basement, went through a false wall into another unfinished room in the basement, up through a wall into the garage, up the wall and into the crawl space above in order to place the fan and vent the PVC out the roof of the garage. They ran into 2 unexpected structural issues but resolved them easily. They were prompt and courteous. Radon test run after installation showed 1.6 pCi/L, a great result. after an earlier reading higher than US EPA action level of 4.0 pCI/L. I would highly recommend Cavalier!
- Donna S.

The installation went well, both installers arrived within the provided time frame and finished the job within a few hours as expected. They installed the system where I had desired it to go (
Iowa City Radon Inspectors Provider Name Locked
as much as possible) in the utility room in the corner and they routed the piping/ductwork outside by the chimney stack to further conceal the looks of the system. My reading while low at 5.1 was still higher than the recommended 4.0 level so I wanted a system in place for peace of mind. After I sent them back the retest kit they left I received my results back within 3 days or so and my reading was down to a 0.4 well below the recommended level.
Both installers were friendly and did answer my questions and concerns and explained to me the process of the system. Overall I would recommend
Iowa City Radon Inspectors Provider Name Locked
again for anyone who needs a Radon System installed.
- Stephen K.

They arrived on time and explained everything they were going to do. They worked quickly and installed a pvc pipe from the basement up through the garage and out the roof. They had the job done within an hour and a half. Would highly recommend!
